Ok, so i'm really confused now about the crowds in December. I hear that the crowds are low the first couple of weeks in December, up until Christmas week and the week between Christmas and New Years. But the parade taping is the first weekend in December. Does the taping make the MK more crowded and have longer waits for lines or is it just Main Street that is filled with the crowds? :confused3

We have been the first week of December once, the second week of December twice (and we'll be there the second week again this year). We were there for the parade taping, and I remember thinking Main St. was a madhouse (no surprise), but the rest of the park was fine. No more crowded than the second week for us. The second week has always been great for us crowd-wise, especially on weekdays. If it's a nice weekend day, you might get more local annual pass holders.

Edited to say.....the Pop Warner football is the first week of December, and that might make things a bit more crowded that week! I forgot about that when answering the first time. This is one of the reasons we've chosen the second week....so we can avoid the football craziness. It's still less crowded than other times of the year though, I'm sure.

We went the first week of Dec. last year. We avoided MK the weekend of the taping. We found the crowds very light to very managable most days at most parks.

2 exceptions - Epcot at night on Saturday was CRAZY (though the day was fine) and evening EMH at MK.

What taping is everyone refering to? :confused3 I am going to be there 12/9 - 12/19 ... anything I should consider?

There is a parade taped for ABC - that is going to happen before you and I get to WDW, so it is not a worry! Fun to watch on Christmas morning though.
