Hi Everyone!

I was told (several years ago) by a local that if I come to Disneyland the 2nd week (can't remember if she said the middle of the week or weekend) of December, all the rides are working and you can go from one ride to the next without waiting in line. Apparently this is because Christmas day is as busy as the summer months so they have to have all the rides open. We are planning on taking our grandson for his Christmas present. :santa:

Is this true?

Thanks!
Barb

I have never been to DL yet, but after much, much research on this wonderful Forum I am this December. From everything that I have read (and the response is pretty unanimous) the 2nd week of December (weekdays) is pretty bare. They have commented that the past few years it has gotten busier, but nothing like summer or Christmas. The weekends are always busy from what I have read (mostly locals), so it would be weekdays, but then some of the shows, etc only run on the weekends - so choose your battle: shows or crowds!

Again - only from what I have read - not experience......

Well, I am certainly hoping that the park is "bare" as you say -our family will be in the area Dec 8-16th. We really cannot manage in crowds - one of our sons usees a wheelchair/walker. We went to WDW last November at a fiarly quiet time, but as things got busier in the week, my husband and I found ourselves looking 2 feet straight ahed as we tried to avoid the "stop right in your tracks" WDW guests! I am always so worried I'm going to take a little child who stops to do a shoelace, I can't look anywhere but straight ahead!

Look for us - we're a family of 4: mum, dad and soon-to-be 9 year old twin boys, including 1 in a wheelchair!

Looking forward to it!

Can't wait to look for all the lime green mickey's - it will be my parents, my husband & I & our 7 year old daughter. I agree that I also hope the parks will be atleast a little bare - or atleast bare enough to handle!

Hope to see you! See our picture to the side - maybe you will spot us!

I go every single year on the first or second Sunday of December for my birthday trip. And its ALWAYS nice easy day at the park. And I go from open to close. Longest the lines usually are is about 15 minutes. Weather is great, everything is perfecto.

Yes, that is correct, the 2nd week of Dec is incredibly light crowds. No one is one break yet, the weather is prefect, and Christmas is fully decorated. There is always at least ONE ride down at Disneyland/DCA somewhere for some reason, but they do not plan routine refurbs during this time.

If you could pick the perfect time to go, it would be the 10th-14th.

We will be there December 11 to 17 and we are hoping that the lines are like everyone has said little to no wait!! We are so excited we are down to two months!:cool1: :cool1:

We have done our traditional Christmas trip the second week of December (mid-week) for several years. However, I think word got out that this is an unbusy time (thanks to the internet and lovely sites like this one), and I can attest to the fact that the parks are certainly not "bare" during this time anymore. No, it won't be busy like the week between Christmas and New Years, but you won't be walking on all the rides without a wait. There are definitely times to go when it is less crowded in the parks. That's why the last couple years we have switched up our schedule a bit and gone in January or November instead.

Not wanting to burst anyone's bubble. . . just sharing our family's experience.
