December 8th, 2011 on the Dream

Hi all! Just got off the first 5-night on the Dream. We booked this one while onboard. This will be our 2nd on the Dream, and 8th Disney cruise! We also booked the Fantasy while on board. I am looking forward to sailing again so soon!

Good Morning all. I am new to the board, new to this website, and first Disney cruise ever! I am so excited and can’t wait to go. I have so many questions (most on the kids clubs). My children are going to be 2.5 (potty trained), 4, and 14 yrs old by the time we cruise (December 8, 2011). My mother is also coming along so this will be a mother daughter trip! If anyone has any suggestions, tips, etc. PLEASE PLEASE let me know! The board is a little confusing and I am still trying to figure out things. Thanks! :cloud9:

Welcome aboard!

The DIS is the best place to find all of your answers, just ask away. Everyone is friendly, and we are all here because of our love for DCL. I will answer any questions I can. No kids, so can't help with kids clubs, but I hear they are fantastic.

Welcome to the group! Your son made an excellent choice.:thumbsup2

Here is a link for some recommended things to do in Nassau - it is an older thread but will give you a good idea of the choices available.

I don't know as much about the younger kids clubs (my kiddos are 13 and 17). My dd did go to Vibe on our recent cruise and loved it. She was there most of the time it was open. My ds did not enjoy Edge and went only once. We also traveled with my niece (5) and a friend who had a son that is 9. They both loved the clubs and wanted to be there all the time. My friend did comment that her son loved that he had choices of activities (versus the clubs on the Magic and Wonder) and always found something he enjoyed. I'd be happy to answer any general questions as I am sure others would too.

Hey cruise buddies -- I'll be on this voyage, too :cool1: It can't come quick enough for my taste! Took my first Disney Cruise last December on the Wonder -- just DH and snuck away. This time around, we are bringing the kiddos on their first cruise -- as a matter of fact, this will be their first real live glimpse of the Ocean. We are beyond excited!!

The time is moving fast. We are only 5 month away from leaving for the cruise...of course the ship leavs in 5 months and 1 day, but who is really counting that one day :)

Just wanted to stop by and say hello!!! My DW and I will be sailing on this cruise and it will be our first time on the Dream so we are really looking forward to it.:cool1:

My DH and I will be joining you guys. We booked this cruise back in 2009 on the Wonder.:cool1: I am starting to get excited. Back in February we were on a trip to tour the Freedom of The Seas and the Dream was there, That is the whole reason we took that Trip so My DH could tease me with seeing the Dream there and get me even more excited. :lmao: I can not wait to board her, I have seen lots of pictures and I think she is a beautiful ship. Plus it is a vacation and time away from the home life and get pampered as well. Sorry I thought I had joined in before now. Looks like a good group.. Talk to you all later.

WooHoo! So excited-

So - is 5 months out too early to ask if anyone in interested in doing Fish Extenders? :goodvibes

What is a fish extender? Answer: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33184281&postcount=2

If so, PM me your info - names/ages/cabin # - I will not post this info on boards.

See post #64 for current list of participants

Cardidog expressed an interest in helping out with organizing - I will help out for now if it's ok -

We're doing a B2B so I'll have to ask the DW about FE. We did it on both legs of our last B2B and it was a bear.

On another note, where is everybody? Seems like a really quiet thread compared to other Dec cruises. I know there are still lots of rooms available but surely there's more folks out there on DIS?

Well, I'll chat! I did my first Disney Cruise last December. DH surprised me for my birthday with a little trip away for the two of us. We were on the Wonder and fell hard and fast for Disney Cruising. Now, we are taking the kiddos for not only their first cruise, but actually their first time seeing the OCEAN :) Seems like every vacation takes us straight to Disney World, so this is going to be something entirely new for them.

So, is everyone looking at Port Adventures? What are you thinking about booking? By the way -- are their still a lot of rooms open on our sailing? I would love to talk my best friend and her fam into going!!
