Hi all. It's Friday morning (7.30am) and I've got my first day or work this week. Well, I could have worked earlier this week but my daughter had an orientation day for her new school for next year. She will start high school (she'll be 13 next year) and I'm not sure what that equates to for your system.

Not much going on here. DH made repairs to yet another underground water pipe connector (they must have come from a faulty batch as that's about 4 we've had to replace :furious:). Then he was pulling up old concrete from around the house and broke into the grey water pipe and when he got the new pipe to join the broken bits found that the old pipe is slightly bigger than the new one! So he fixed that temporarily with some wide tape and continued pulling up the concrete slabs, to find underneath a slab was the old grease trap - the metal bits underground was all rusty and the water disgusting and it was full of cockroaches :scared1: Now that explains why I always had cockroaches under the kitchen sink! The grease trap is outside the kitchen where the sink is. Ah, the joys of an old house. We've got bit of a porch type thing off the laundry that we're going to close in and turn into the new laundry and the existing laundry will be a storage room full of sliding cupboard doors, like a big wardrobe. It's a small, narrow laundry and drives me crazy as there's no real room to move or store things. So, we've got to dig up the concrete slabs, check out what is there for the plumber to do, move all existing pipes to further out and connect them up to the new line for the grey water. Then we'll have to build the external wall and do all the other stuff that needs doing. It means I get to choose a new laundry tub and taps :)

Well I hope everyone enjoys their day. I'll have a class full of kids today so I'm hoping all goes well for me :)

We can so relate to old houses, but they do have their charm. That is awful about the grease trap. That's why I hate tearing things up, you never know what you will find.

Chuck, good luck on the home inspection...

But I also love old homes, they do have a lot of charm. My sister bought my grandmothers house years ago, They lived there for years and it seemed that all they did was remodel the place. They did a great job on it, but I still remember the way the house looked when my grandmother owned it.
The last big job they did before they sold it was made the attic into a huge master suite...with a bathroom and sitting area...it was really nice they put in skylights....then they sold it. Bought a brand new townhome and now they sold that and moved to Tennessee...bought a brand new home there. Havent been yet, they just moved in August.

Oh well, did some running this morning. I'v got all the bedding in the washer and dryer....just going to chill then start getting ready for the concert tonite....:cheer2:

Have a good one....

Evening all:

Wow this has been a busy day, and yet, I dont think alot got done:confused3

Anywho....The Monkee's last night, was some dissapointed in the show....Last year when we say them they were sooooo good, this year not so much. The reason Davy....They really didnt sing any of his songs at all..skipped thoes...They did a lot of songs that I have never heard of...Mike did a lot of songs...
They did still sing a lot of their hit songs...They left the stage a couple of times and had music and Pictures of Davy...
We still had a good time but just different and I dont think I would go back to see them again.
The only time that "mentioned" Davy was right near the end, said that they had discussed who would sing Daydream beliver and decided that none of them could sing it but would let the audience sing it, so they got some guy up on state and we all sang along...it was kinda sad...

Ok enough of that...was doing some cleaning around here today, grocery shopping just made dinner and cleaned up that mess...going to watch a little tv and thats about it....

Chuck...how did the inspection go?

Have a good evening
:wave2:

Afternoon all:

Been busy getting the house ready for Thanksgiving. Finishing up laundry and just put dinner in the oven.....

Going to chill for a few minutes

Why do weekends go soooo fast and the week days at work drag??

Oh well

I think it's because you have to do someone else's work instead of your own! Just wait until you retire--then ALL the days fly by! I'm not sure how I used to fit work in my schedule :)

Home inspection didn't go well. 100+ year old house and the inspector knit picked at everything. We need more than pixie dust at this point.:worried:

That's not good :(. I'd hate to see how ours would fare and it's from the early-mid 80s!

Got a stuffy nose, foggy head and sore throat. I hope it's just sinus...

Dreadfully hot here coming into the storm season, it's about 35C and energy sapping humidity. Can't wait for the storms to come to give us some relief.

In the middle of cooking a quiche for dinner, so it'll be quiche and salad tonight and an early night for me.

Have a great night :)

Sorry to hear about your inspection. I think its the inspector that you get, some will over look things that are either not that important or dont really need to be fixed, then there are the other ones, that every little thing needs to be fixed. Good luck.

Monday again....:scared: traffic was light this morning, so hopefully everyone is leaving town for Thanksgiving and wont bother us today :rotfl:

Have a good one

I'm so sorry, Chuck. Are the buyers wanting everything fixed? Are they expensive items or suck-it-up stuff?
What about splitting the difference with the buyers? Is that an option? Maybe cash in lieu?
Your realtor should be helpful!

All I got is pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: but you got it in bucketloads!

Oh no, hope you aren't getting sick!

Hope the storms break the heat for you. They didn't work so well for us this past summer...now we are colder than normal. Crazy weather!

Hope you feel better soon!
