Chuck, hope all is fine in your neck of the world...don't know exactly where you live down there. A friend JUST moved to Clermont last week!

Luckily, she's far enough away from that isn't an issue.

We are 2.5 miles from it. Kinda scary. We passed by about 20 minutes ago and counted 25 news trucks. What part of Clermont did your friends move to? We are in southern Clermont, close to 192.

I'm not sure, they just moved last week. She just said it wasn't too close to her. She started at WDW today in the College program.

I think people are busier when they retire because they get to do the things they love all the time without the constraints of having to be in work 5+ days a week.

I feel sorry for those poor people who die shortly after retiring.

I am traveling with Dee, I let her do all the "hi-tec" stuff.:cool1:
I just retired from Govt work and now I am working part-time at a travel-trailer store. The other time I a taking care of Dad, 83 and doing my sewing!
I am SOOOO looking forward to this cruise:cheer2:
I have been on lots of cruises, but this will be my second Disney, which I enjoy!
I will try to check in more often, I said try. I am sooo busy, doing what, not sure.
Later
sue

I forgot to say it earlier, but Welcome :cheer2:

Lucky you :cheer2:

Good Monday Morning:

Another work week is here.... Why do weekends go so fast??

Talking rain moving in late morning, hopefully we get some rain, my garden needs it, but I washed my car yesterday,:headache: so in that respect I kinda hope it passes me by...

I am hoping to retire in 7 years....my daughter will have her 20 years in military in 6-7 years, so we should be retiring together....:sad2: and she is sooo much younger than me.....but I am so looking forward to it.

well have a great day

:wave2:

I'd like some rain if you've got some to spare... I washed my car last week and it hasn't rained :confused3

So we will be retiring about the same time! We will have to celebrate....now what can we do? :scratchin

I KNOW!!! We can do a Disney cruise!!! :thumbsup2

and all of you who won't be retiring can come and celebrate with us!!!! :lmao:

okay, you've convinced me. i'll be free that week :grouphug:

I saw that on the news this morning! How scary. At least (as reported on the news) most people were just coming back from the parks and were awake to hear the noises of it starting to sink, otherwise it could have been way worse.

For the newcomers, there is a FB page for our cruise and if you are interested, you might want to sign up for our cabin crawl - wine tasting and beer tasting.

It's just a fun way to get together without too much of a time committment, sample some local wines or beers (you supply a six pack or a couple of bottles of your local wine for everyone to sample). It's also a good way to check out other cabin types. We have to do it in cabins because you can't drink in public places like hallways :cool2:

Last night the water pipe to our gas hot water system broke and gushed water all over the laundry. I had the plumber out this morning he said he can't fix it and to call the gas hot water people. I called them and they can't come out until tomorrow. Luckily we have electric hot water in our ensuite so the kids can still have showers. I just don't have any hot water to do the dishes. I hope this isn't going to cost too much to fix or that I don't have to buy a whole new system :sad2: Yay me - I had to give up work today and will have to give up any work tomorrow too  Stupid hot water system.

Hope your hot water is fixed soon--there's always something with a house! No hot water to do the dishes--guess that means you'll have to go out to eat ;)

Hope it works out and it's nothing "major"...we had to replace our hot water heater about a month ago...$$$$...love home repairs....:sad2:

I had to replace the air filter to our furnace due to some flooding.

Glad that the water didn't touch the furnace enough to need replacing.

Good luck!

I heated up pies and vegetable pasties in the oven and we used disposable plates :)

We have the gas and water shut off valves/taps underneath it so I didn't have to race outside to do anything :)

The gas man came and fortunately he had a part on him. He explained what it was that broke, which was what the plumber thought it was. He checked it over and have it a clean bill of health. He said it was just one of those things that happen over time because the part is plastic and some people never have a problem and some do. So no new hot water system for us. He said the office will send me an invoice for the repair. I'm assuming a few hundred dollars, thankfully not the thousands I was dreading if we had to replace the whole thing :)

Glad it was something simple and (relatively) cheap to repair!!! Whew!

Yikes, that would have been a nightmare...

But that would never happen to you. You'll live forever, sailing the world on DCL :)
