December 3, 2011 Eastern Magic

Aww man!! You missed my cruise by 3 days! I am doing the 26th and 30th cruises! Cant you bump it up a few days? ;)
lol - Not this time! We have our Palo dinner ressies you know! :lmao:

Seriously - It just worked out that the dates of this cruise are when we are available. We've had a lot going on here at home lately.

I think when I did a back-to-back was the last time I was on the Wonder, maybe 8 yrs ago or so. Yikes! Long time! I've just stuck to the Magic because I got spoiled by being on the ship for 7 nights. Will be back on her less than 2 months after returning from the Wonder. Now if only I could afford an even LONGER sailing . . . . :cloud9:

I understand. I dont see any more B2Bs in my future. The next one is going to be this one, and I am mulling over a Transatlantic. Do you see the number of days growing here? 4 day cruise, 3 day cruise (well that was backwards lol), 7 day cruise, then 14 day cruise. What's so crazy is, I havent been on my first cruise yet, and I am already planning my cruises for the next 2 years :rotfl2: Now, if I could do 2 7 night B2B, then I would be interested! lol This one just came up because we were first planning on going to the parks afterwards, then decided not to and do another cruise (brilliant if you ask me! :lmao:)

I love WDW but would rather cruise any day! The only thing is that if I ever did a transatlantic I would want it to be on an ocean liner, not a cruise ship. There is a difference. The Wonder and the Magic are cruise ships. They are okay crossing the ocean, but not really meant for middle-of-the-ocean comfort in possibly severe weather/really rough seas. On the Magic's first transatlantic on the way over for her first European offerings, there were a lot of reports of a lot of guests becoming very ill due to the extremely rough seas. You never know about the weather, but I'd rather not be halfway to Europe on the Magic.

The Dream is bigger (except the staterooms, lol!) and heavier and IMHO would be an ocean liner. I don't like the top-heavy effect and the AquaDuck hanging over the side of the ship, but I'd still say she would make a better ocean ride than the Magic. Yet she'll be doing the short sailings. Strange. :boat:

Ohh gosh. I didnt know that. OK maybe I will rethink the transatlantic. I couldnt imagine how freaked out I would be if on day 7 we are being tossed about by rough weather. :scared1: I read where people are saying that they keep the new ships close the first year or two then let them go out farther. Maybe they are working out the kinks before going that far. :confused3 I am sure it would be the same thing to Hawaii? There is speculation of going there in 2012 too. I would LOVE to go there but if it is the same situation, nevermind! :teeth:

Well, just as on the 7-night Caribbean sailings, you are not always going to get bad weather and rough seas, but neither is great weather and smooth seas a given. I am fine with the Wonder and Magic Caribbean cruises. If rough seas are forecast I take Bonine (ahead of time!) and have no problem. But WAY out in the middle of the ocean halfway around the world? No. I'm a wimp. I'll skip the "smaller" ships - which BTW are still bigger than the Titanic! :rotfl2:

Hi all just wanted to pop on and say hey  Jen i can't wait to hear how much you loved your first cruise!!! I'm so sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to meeting you. I have (sadly) removed you from our cruiser list. :sad1:

Have a great cruise whenever you do sail though! :boat:

Holley - Is Ashley (smashan) also canceling her booking for this cruise?

Hi all!

I'm jumping in as a hopeful cruiser for this sailing. I was supposed to be on the one for this year, but my work really messed me up. Really bummed me out to have to cancel.

I've cruised before with Taswira, and we are good friends. She knows that I may not know right away if I can book and actually go on this - as I have some logistics to work out. So I won't join "officially" until I can book it.

But I can sure look forward to joining you and getting to know you all in the meantime! I'm thinking positively about this. pixiedust:

BTW, I'd like to throw in a huge compliment to Taswira for the incredible website(s) and graphics she's done for this one and the 2010 one! :cheer2:

Holly

I hope you will be able to go this cruise!! We are looking forward to seeing you. Hopefully, everything will work out.

:welcome: I've said it in email but I'll say it here: I am THRILLED that you plan to join us! You know how I felt like a lost sheep when you had to cancel from this year's. So when everything is worked out, you know where to sign up! :goodvibes

Meanwhile, please continue planning and posting whenever you feel like it. The cruise is still over a year away and I'm sure we will have a lot of additions and at least a few cancellations.

When we lost disneydreamer82, we also lost her friend smashan. So we need some magical new cruisers to replace them on our list. Tough shoes to fill! Everyone: Tell all your friends and relatives about this one and tell them they should join us. It's going to be an amazing voyage! :boat:

(NOTE: I have had to change my cruise dates and am no longer on this sailing.)

Thank you all for the welcome!

I am hoping the day will come soon when I can officially book and add the countdown ticker to my signature!

I suspect we'll get a lot of new cruisers in December after the first one!

Just popping in on the thread. I know it's seeming so far off in the distance which is why it's so quiet. Hopefully we'll get some new cruisers soon.

And of course the FIRST Cruisin' Nuts cruise is just around the corner. Wish I was on that one - but I'll be excited to hear all about it from Taswira and the other cruisers.

I'm excited for this one, as I've never seen the ship all done up for Christmas. Taswira will get to celebrate her birthday ON the cruise, and mine is a bit later in the month.

Here I am again posting, even though it's really quiet in here. I'm getting excited that the first cruise is about to happen even though I'm not going on that one. It'll be great to hear how wonderful the first one was from Taswira.

You all have no idea of how much I am looking forward to this cruise. True, I haven't officially booked yet, but things seem to be shaping up so I'm feeling positive.

Hey it's only one year, one month and 9 days! Time to start packing! :lmao:

I DO remember during the Pal Mickey cruise we did, your PM was quite the dapper young man!

I'm only teasing you about the packing, but because I realize that you have it down to a science. You don't forget things, like so many of us who get on board and suddenly realize we've forgotten something we really wanted to bring.

I'm going to make a list this cruise and keep to it. I also know what I used and didn't use for my last cruise. I don't want to travel too heavy. Don't need to deal with the airlines, but still it's a lot easier to deal with if you don't overpack.

Hey guys! My cruise was AMAZING!!! It wsa so much fun but I am not sure I like back to backs. It just seemed to go so fast because when you had one end and then the next start and then end, it just didnt feel long enough. I did find out that if you have a retail business, September is a VERY bad month to go on vacation! lol I am STILL trying to catch up! So, I have decided that the first of December would be the WORST time to take a week of. So sadly, I had to move my cruise to Jan 14th 2012. I am really bummed because I wanted to see the ship decorated for Christmas but the only week I could go would be the week of Christmas and that is TOOOOOOO many people! So I am SURE you guys are going to have a BLAST both 2010 and 2011. Take care of the ship for me k? :grouphug:

Jen

Haha - Yep, I do have it down to a science, but also remember that I only take one checked bag and one shoulder tote for myself. When "a furry Disney companion" (plush, beanie, electronic) who has his own wardrobe and accessories comes along, that requires another carry-on. :rotfl2:

Jen - We are sorry that you won't be sailing with us. :sad1:

I agree about back-to-backs. I did one and really don't care to do another. There is all that "lost time" with the ship re-prep, embarkation, debarkation of passengers, etc. I'd rather have one cruise of whatever length at one time, then return another time for another cruise. :)
