December 26, 2006, on the MAGIC!!!!

Kim,
Please add us to the list as I am hoping we will not have to cancel this. It will be myself, husband and 2 sons-10 and 18 and most likely Blake will have a friend with him.

you can add our names
Beth, Sean, Blake--will be 1 month shy of 18 and in college, so I hope there is no trouble going to the adult things--if there is he'll pout the whole cruise, his friend Chris, who will turn 19 on the cruise, and Brandon age 10.

Anyone else with a boy around 10?

Does anyone have plans to decorate or celebrate while on the ship? I know we are sailing in between X-Mas and New Year's, but there's always Kwanzaa, Boxing Day and people like me who procrastinate and celebrate X-mas and Hanukkah a few days late. :)

What about extra gifts for the CMs? Is this done at this time of year?

C'mon folks, let's stay off of page 5!

See you in December!

Hi Hillary! I don't know if we'll decorate--I'm married to Scrooge. I'm sure it'll be all I can do to keep my DS from trying to bring all his Christmas gifts with him!!! I know folks that are on the ship over the holiday actually sometimes bring small trees and string up Christmas lights... I might bring a strand or two, possible at the irritation of DH. :rotfl: At a minimum, I'll probably bring all my little Christmas pins and a couple of sweaters in case it's cool enough in the evenings... should work at least for the first night out of Port Canaveral when it cools off. Hmm... hadn't thought about extra gifts for the CMs...wouldn't be a bad idea. I do plan on having a couple of surprises ready for DS. Last time we cruised, I had pre-bought a few things, like a Stitch bathrobe with his name embroidered on it, some Stitch slippers, some Stitch PJ pals, and a nice Stitch blanket with his name on it--he was pretty much all about Stitch at that time. We left him something for our room steward to put out for him each day, so it looked like MM had visited while we were at dinner each night. He was SO tickled. Helped him concentrate on eating his dinner, since we werne't going to leave until he was done, and he knew his behavior at dinner was always being monitored by MM. :cool1:

If I was creative, I saw some great door magnets-can't remember the site- with the Magic and a Christmas theme, but I'm not. If it was a longer cruise I might decorate, but not for 4 nights.

Is anyone going to Atlantis? I read they no longer have day rooms?

Page 5--terrible!!!

Yes to All!

I always have extra "no name" magnets for such occasions!

Everyday is Christmas when you are talking Disney! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What? I hadn't heard that about Atlantis... I assume the Comfort Suties still has that offer... I just can't imagine Atlantis not taking advantage of all the extra business they get with the cruise ships. We did want to reserve a day room at the Comfort Suites and spend most of the day at Atlantis. I hope that's still an option. I heard that the Disney-offered package is way overpriced. :confused3

I read it on another thread-might not be correct. I was wondering how crowded it will be since it is the holiday.

If you really want to have a room at Atlantis, I would start calling now!

I tried to get a room during our March Cruise and was told they were sold out!

I did not bother go over there to try to get a "Day Room".

Also, are they not closing down the Comfort Suites? I thought that they were making that property part of the new Timeshare? :confused3

Welcome, John. We have an eight year old daughter as well so I guess they will be playing together in the children's centre. Looks like you have done lots of cruising. We have only been once (Dec. 2005) and feel in love with it so are spending two weeks on the Disney Magic this December.

If you send a PM to Kim with a family bio and whatever info you would like to share she has a webpage started for us. She is doing a great job of it but could use more family bios. She will also send you the link to the page so you can have a look. Her and I both have our family bio on there. Just helps us get to know each other a little better.

Take care and we will meet sooner than we know it.

We were afraid that we werent going to be able to go on this cruise!!!! The 6 year old was keeping us locked out. Finally, I guess some had cancelled and we were able to book it. So now there are 4 of us. Me granddaughter 6 best friend 35 and her goddaughter 17. We are going to be cramped in a probably 11 cat room... we are gty 12 status now. Looking forward to this cruise!!!!

When we first tried to book in June we were told we couldn't go beause no more children were being allowed too, but a few days later we were able to book.

Does anyone know the limit for kids onboard. Is it a limit in each age group?

Hello Everyone:

Has anyone ever done the Disney's Atlantis Beach Day or know what the best way of visiting the Atlantis is? Do you have to have a room there in order to use the pool/water slide activities? We would like to spend half a day at the Atlantis and then go to the Blue Lagoon for the Dolphin Swim but this doesn't seem possible. Any suggestions? We have not been to Nassau before.

we have been to nassau before and had planned on staying on the ship that day, but i think we might try and do the dolphin swim with the girls. the teen going with us has never been on a cruise before.

We wanted to stay the night before and after at the BCV--all flights to Pittsburgh on the 31st are alread gone!!!!

Hi everybody,
I will you on the 12/26 cruise. I am a veteran DISer and actually got DIS-hooked by my first cruise o nthe Magic 5 years ago. I booked this one when DD15 and BF and I cruised last Christmas on the 7-day Magic cruise. I only booked it for DD and myself because BF isn't necessarily a "Disney" person but he decided to join us with his DD23.
Anyway.................... while on last year's cruise, not only did I book this year's cruise, I also bought a DVC membership. Pretty expensive souvenirs!!!! I LOVE DVC!!! DD and I have been to WDW three times since last Xmas. Gotta love those points!
This year, we will be at All-Star Music beginning on 12/22 then move to Boardwalk Villas for Christmas night because the transportation to the cruise terminal from the resorts only takes place from DVC resorts. And I figured it would be nice to spend Xmas night on the Boardwalk! We are going back to the WDW after the cruise and staying 12/30 in Pop Century.
I can't wait to meet all you folks! The pre-planning on the DISboards is one of my favorite parts of a Disney cruise!!!! :Pinkbounc
One of the coolest things the DISers did for last year's cruise was plan a swap. There were about 20 slots for folks to sign up to bring one smal item representing their hometown or state such as a small glass ornament with sand in it from NJ beaches, a magnet, a small crafty item, etc. The items were all delivered to a particular room of the swap organizer at a specified time the first afternoon of the cruise and then we all met at a specified time for the swap! It was soooo much fun. The hostess had little lunch boxes made up with to hold all the stuff. I would be happy to host something like this if there is interest. Just let me know!!! :thumbsup2
