December 26, 2006, on the MAGIC!!!!

Me too!!! We got our 2006 DVC Member Cruise note in the mail yesterday... makes me want to go all the more. I hear the member cruises are wonderful, but I don't know where I'll be working next year... I'd LOVE to go on that one! Maybe we can do it in 2007. I'd pull my son out of school for that! And I don't think he'd argue much. :jumping3:

Cash and I will be on the Dec. 26 Magic cruise... taking it as an add-on after the 10-day Magic cruise. I signed up for it during the First 10-day cruise last year, which was such a party, but, hating to have to leave the ship the day after Christmas, which the '06 10-day requires, I added four more days...Hope to see you all there!

Hi Lynda!!! Welcome to the thread!!! We look forward to meeting you and Cash! I assume you get to keep your cabin--do they make you vacate in between? How does that work? You'll have to fill us all in on how Christmas Day on the Magic goes... I would love to have spent Christmas Day on the ship, but my 6-year-old reminded me that Santa won't know where he's at, and might not stop by if we're not here. :rotfl2: Maybe we can do that in a couple more years...

My family always travels at Christmas. It's our present to ourselves. I'm sure our DS will get confused the first time we're not at WDW at Christmas (he's only 21 months right now) since that's where we will always be, but it's a long standing tradition that DH, DD (14), and I are too selfish to change.
:rolleyes1
We've never taken a Disney Cruise before, but thought that it would be a good addition to our trip.

We also got the DVC Member Cruise card yesterday, but we ALL have school, except for DS, and it's just not going to happen for us. Maybe later on, but for now, we're just looking forward to our DCL cruise next year...and our WDW trip this Christmas...and our WDW trip in May...and our WDW/DCL trip NEXT Christmas.

I'm kind of spoiled, huh? princess:

That's too funny, Jody! We're also Disney Lovers who go to Disney at least twice a year... was getting to the point that we figured, "Hey, might as well move there!" after we bought into Disney Vacation Club. Now that we're so close to WDW, it'll be easier to use up our points every year. I'm hoping that once I start working again, we can take advantage of some of these almost-last-minute cruise deals out of Port Canaveral. Every now and then, stuff pops up for $200 with only a couple weeks notice. It's nice to be down here. We're thinking about taking a day off from school in the middle of the week just to go over to WDW and enjoy the park next month with NO crowds! Yep, it's worth missing a day of school for! :teeth:

This sounds just like me... I want to make Christmas at Disney a family tradition too. I am going to make it happen! We are going for christmas this year, then in May, then in Christmas next year with our first cruise!!!

Cash and I will set up housekeeping in one of the aft accessible verandah staterooms and will be there from Dec. 26 to Jan 6. THE SHIP WILL BE MINE....! AARGH! pirate:

Santa, I like to think, keeps the locations of the hearts and spirits of children in his mind, not necessarily the address where the postman goes... Luckily....I'd not like to think I'll miss him in '06...Cash either...

We all are going to have such fun!

My DH and I actually talked about moving to central Florida in about 5-6 years. We'll both be finished getting our nursing degrees and our DD will be in college. Besides being so close to WDW, what I love about it is that my allergies don't bother me there and I've been there in many different seasons. Of course, my allergies don't bother me on a cruise ship either, but I don't think we'd be able to afford to live on one of those.

Wow--that's great! I can happily recommend the town I live in--it's fantastic, but the home prices are going through the roof right now. If we hadn't bought last year, we'd never be able to get into the neighborhood we live in. The taxes here are almost as much as a house payment. I suppose that makes up for no state tax, and then some. But we love it!!! :goodvibes

My son has just advertised to the world that we're going on this cruise next year... I was hoping that he would forget about me ever mentioning it to him last month, so I could surprise him next year... looks like that won't happen. Oh well. He can look forward to it and be excited about it with me for another 13 months!!! :rotfl:

Hmmm...I wonder if we're going to be there at the same time... :rotfl:

We're going this year 12/25-12/30 then next year 5/27-6/3 and also 12/17-12/26 then the 4 night Magic cruise.
:cheer2:

We will be there from 12/23-12/30 this Christmas, then from May 14-26 (I just miss you!) and then for a week before the cruise! We have to make plans to have lunch or something together this Christmas! Are you a DVC member, because we could meet up at the Merry Member Mixer! If not, we definitely have to make time to meet up somewhere, too bad their aren't any Dis meets for that week.

Yes, we're DVC members and plan to be at the Merry Member Mixer. It should be fun.

I am just itchin' to get on that boat!!! We watched the Magic and the Wonder in port (on the Port Canaveral webcam) during the day on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I've GOT to stop torturing myself. Even my son can tell you which ship it is by knowing what day it is... we're TOO wrapped up, aren't we? I hope you all had a WONDERful Thanksgiving and a MAGICal holiday weekend. :wave2:

Yes, me too. :flower: I have to make some more ADR's for my upcoming trip! I need two more. But, I keep thinking about stuff I want to buy for the cruise!! I wonder when we will start getting a few more posters on this thread?
