Just thinking about cruising....

JodyTG said:My family always travels at Christmas. It's our present to ourselves. I'm sure our DS will get confused the first time we're not at WDW at Christmas (he's only 21 months right now) since that's where we will always be, but it's a long standing tradition that DH, DD (14), and I are too selfish to change.

We've never taken a Disney Cruise before, but thought that it would be a good addition to our trip.
We also got the DVC Member Cruise card yesterday, but we ALL have school, except for DS, and it's just not going to happen for us. Maybe later on, but for now, we're just looking forward to our DCL cruise next year...and our WDW trip this Christmas...and our WDW trip in May...and our WDW/DCL trip NEXT Christmas.
I'm kind of spoiled, huh?![]()
kimszath said:Hi Lynda!!! Welcome to the thread!!! We look forward to meeting you and Cash! I assume you get to keep your cabin--do they make you vacate in between? How does that work? You'll have to fill us all in on how Christmas Day on the Magic goes... I would love to have spent Christmas Day on the ship, but my 6-year-old reminded me that Santa won't know where he's at, and might not stop by if we're not here.Maybe we can do that in a couple more years...
My DH and I actually talked about moving to central Florida in about 5-6 years. We'll both be finished getting our nursing degrees and our DD will be in college. Besides being so close to WDW, what I love about it is that my allergies don't bother me there and I've been there in many different seasons. Of course, my allergies don't bother me on a cruise ship either, but I don't think we'd be able to afford to live on one of those.kimszath said:That's too funny, Jody! We're also Disney Lovers who go to Disney at least twice a year... was getting to the point that we figured, "Hey, might as well move there!" after we bought into Disney Vacation Club. Now that we're so close to WDW, it'll be easier to use up our points every year. I'm hoping that once I start working again, we can take advantage of some of these almost-last-minute cruise deals out of Port Canaveral. Every now and then, stuff pops up for $200 with only a couple weeks notice. It's nice to be down here. We're thinking about taking a day off from school in the middle of the week just to go over to WDW and enjoy the park next month with NO crowds! Yep, it's worth missing a day of school for!![]()
Hmmm...I wonder if we're going to be there at the same time...TammyAlphabet said:This sounds just like me... I want to make Christmas at Disney a family tradition too. I am going to make it happen! We are going for christmas this year, then in May, then in Christmas next year with our first cruise!!!
JodyTG said:Yes, we're DVC members and plan to be at the Merry Member Mixer. It should be fun.
kimszath said:My son has just advertised to the world that we're going on this cruise next year... I was hoping that he would forget about me ever mentioning it to him last month, so I could surprise him next year... looks like that won't happen. Oh well. He can look forward to it and be excited about it with me for another 13 months!!!![]()
