December 21, 2008 Christmas Vacation on the Wonder

lol, Katrob so does he! He's the youngest of the 6 of us, so he usually just ends up hanging out with us anyway, but he'll probably at least check out the teen areas. He IS a teenage boy!:)

Anyone else heard anything about the fuel surcharge? It sounds (from the dozen pages on the DIS regarding the subject!) like we should be eligible for the on board credit, but I haven't heard back from my TA yet.

Mine checked out Aloft the first day, went back for a little while that evening, but she really didn't like it that much. For some reason she just feels more comfortable with adults (of just about any age).

This weekend we are meeting some folks in Atlanta for lunch and she loves hanging with them. Most of them have children or grandchildren her age. She's so funny!!

Fuel charge doesn't affect us-I booked out 18 months ago!

I just noticed that you are leaving out the same day we are. Where will you be staying at WDW? We'll be at Shades of Green, across from the Poly.
Have you heard back from the TA yet?

We are staying at the Pop Century :) will you be driving to the port? We decided to do Disney transfers this time (don't want to carry around the car seat) so we are doing the Magical express thing and then we will take the DCL bus from the Beach Club to the boat.

I'm still waiting for an answer on the documents but I'm with Dreams Unlimited too (DU) so I guess they will be mailing them directly to our home!
on the fuel surcharge she did said that it should be there as an on board credit so we'll see...

Ok... I just got her email back, DCL mailed the docs yesterday and she said to expect them tomorrow! yay!

We got our docs on Dec. 3rd! I was expecting them sometime this week and was pleasantly surprised when I got home from work on Wednesday. I have to find the time to sit down and go back through all the stuff I've received from DCL over the last couple of months. Packing seems pretty daunting at this point, but I'm ready to start. I keep reminding myself that we only need enough stuff for 3 days.

We got ours last night, I wasn't expecting them until today but I was so happy when the UPS guy showed at our door! :cool1:

Three days, but: beach shoes, day shoes and nicer shoes for the evening. Last time with three people we had 9 pairs. We had one suitcase just for shoes!!

Just wanted to get in the mix! We are on cloud nine waiting for this cruise! :cloud9: We've been on two Disney cruises and LOVED them. I'm excited to see all the Christmas decorations. Who's traveling: myself (32), DH33, DD(6), DSIL (24), DBIL (23), DMIL(50). It will be my brother-in-law and his wife's first cruise. WOOHOO, DCL HERE WE COME! :cool1: :cheer2:
Only two SHORT weeks to go! :thumbsup2

This will be our first Disney cruise DW, DS(4) and (3). Been lurking for a long time, trying to understand things. Too much to take in :confused3 . I think this time we will just be mostly observing.

Since this is only a 3 night cruise, when do the little kids go to the Disney's Oceaneer Club? Between being in port, taking our naps, going to the shows, and especially eating, there is no time left.

You'll get a daily listing of the activities on board and in the kids club. I would suggest taking a look at the scheduled activities for the kids club and picking the ones your kids would want to attend. Some of the activities have "surprise" visits from Disney characters. The last cruise we were on, Peter Pan came and played "Neverland" games with the kids. It's way better than standing in LONG lines for the character meet-n-greets! :thumbsup2

Hello Everyone,

My daughter (age 12) and I will be on the Dec. 21 Wonder Cruise. We will be meeting up with some old friends ( Mom and daughter (age 13.)) Our daughters have been friends since they were small, but they seldom see each other since we moved two years ago.

Looking forward to meeting you all.
Katie

Welcome to the forum and the cruise. That will be great having someone to hang with.

For those with teens, when you first get to your cabin there is usually a sign by the door inviting them to the 411 that day. My only problem is they put the kids name on the sign. I don't like everyone knowing where the kids are or posting the name like that. My DD took it down when she walked in. She guards her privacy pretty well.

The last night. I've changed my mind three times about what I'm wearing. We are leaving in the morning so I have to get it together pretty quick!

And for everyone: I hope you have safe travels and be careful out there. See you all Sunday:cool1:

Wow, we are cruising in 4 days! It's hard to believe it's finally here! I too wish everyone safe and happy travels!
