We are a group of 3 adult couples. We are wanting to go Dec 2-6 which does not historically have free dining. I am trying to determine the best deal. Keep these dates and use room discount if offered or change to dates within free dining? Any opinions are appreciated.

That's a tough question to answer without knowing all the deals out now and what Disney will put out in the future. Obviously, you'd have to weigh the discount against the cost of free dining. One other thing you may want to check on, that week could be Pop Warner week (football team & cheerleaders) and they usually take up A LOT of rooms ! Good luck.

My husband and I are thinking about that time of year too. We don't really want to be their when free dining is going on. We went OOP last year and it was great. We saved money and our waistlines, plus had the freedom to try the really unique QS places that we had passed by because we were too full to stop. We never used our QS credits as we were too full from the TS meals. Anyway, it worked for us and we liked it much better than FD:)
We are going to check on Pop Warner too, and will adjust our schedules to avoid that. Sounds like we are avoiding a lot, but we know what works for us. We love that time of year, but it has been ruined for us due to the PW crowds for the past 2 years. I think it will be a great time to go otherwise.
