December 2013: We just booked!

Hey everyone, can I join? I just booked our December trip today! We had arranged a CL CR TPV for April 2014 and then came to my senses and took that trip down to a woods room at WL and booked a second trip!! We decided to go with Coronado Springs bc we could get a discount and was not too expensive (about 1,000 less than our new April trip) so I am freaking out about going to Disney in 36 days!!

This is our first Disney trip and we are going down December 4th - December 9th. I feel like we are going to get spoiled by the low crowd volume and come April get smacked with reality!

We come in late on the 4th and start at the parks bright and early on the 5th. We have planned one day at DHS, AK and Epcot (departure day) and two days at the MK. For the first trip we have decided to go with QS dining only so that we can get a feel for things down in "the world". Our April trip is with the DxDP so lots of table service/character meals, so hopefully this December trip will be much more relaxed.

So with all that being said, I hope you guys will let me tag along for the next month or so (OMG!!!!)

LOL.. Maybe I spoke too soon about it being a quiet party! The more the merrier I say! This trip planning experience has come with a lot of uncertainty and worry over details and glitches and IT issues and blah blah blah. I've promised myself that I will continue to embrace the positive. I think we'll need a break after this and for our next big vacation to be somewhere else on our bucket list. And that's not a bad thing.. there's a big world out there. So I've decided to embrace the positive for this one. I can't believe we actually get to go during Christmas time!! My husband was just saying to me that when I planned our first family trip in 2008 I said "One day I WILL go for Christmas." 9 trips later and I am going!!!! Dh writes his last exam the day we leave! 3.5 loooonnnngggg years of his program over! And my 40th birthday is 3 weeks after we get back. We have a lot to celebrate (and ironically every time I've talked to disney they've asked if we're celebrating anything special and I always say no because I forget). We're trying to be really careful with the food budget but I think his graduation and my 40th birthday deserve a dinner at a signature don't you? Ds would love to go to the kids club and dd16 is happy to stay in the room and facebook with her friends for the evening. I had been planning this earlier but never booked anything because it seemed like a waste of money. But it would be a waste not to have a date night with my sweetie to celebrate wouldn't it? So December friends.. where should I go? We love Jiko but have been there twice. We're staying at WL. Maybe Artist Point? Citricos? Any suggestions?

We LOVE Narcoossees!! It is our favorite! The food and service is great and you get to watch Wishes while having dessert!!

We also really like Cali Grill (also get to see Wishes and Flying Fish-YUM!! Artist Point is good too! I don't think you can go wrong w/ any of these.

I think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on my party tickets. Dec 12th it is! Our last full day. Not a bad way to close out a trip! Funny, out of all the posts I've seen, hardly anyone is choosing that day...

We will be at that party . Hope we are lucky and it is not too crowded.

I'll be staying at Coronado Springs Dec. 6 - 9. I'm gong to the Candlelight Processional for the first time on Dec. 7, and MVMCP on the 8th, also for the first time.

We have our Magicbands all picked out and customized...fastpasses picked out and now just waiting for our our "Mickey Mail" with our luggage tags and everything else and Magicbands to be shipped.

As of tomorrow I can say I'm going to Disney NEXT MONTH!! Although I can't say it too much or too loud since its a surprise trip! I need to get my head in gear and get the surprise details in place!
We have our Magic Bands customized, our FP+ selections made and I got my mickey mail this week!

We are doing two trips, too. We'll be at WL Nov 30 -Dec 5th and then going back in March to BC. We are planning the December trip to be really relaxing, especially with FW being right next door to the WL. Then we expect the crowds in March to be really bad. We'll see how it goes.

I'm so jealous that you will be at WL at Christmas! This is our first trip so we are going down to get a good feel for things for our April trip. We are doing QS dining this time so we will eb able to get a better feel of whether DxDp is worth all the ADR hassle or not!

I am hoping that we will sneak into the off week of April when everyone is still at school.

So where is everyone staying?

We fly in and land at 9pm. We'll be staying at the Best Western LBV in Downtown Disney for the night.
In the morning we are going to Epcot. When we take our mid afternoon break we are heading over to the Wilderness Lodge Villas to check in for the next 7 nights.
I added a night late in the game and couldn't get another night at WLV so we are moving to AoA and staying in a Little Mermaid room for one night.
We'll spend our last day at Epcot and head out in the afternoon to see ICE! at the Gaylord Palms. We're spending the last night in the Hyatt in the airport.
It's a lot of moving around but it won't be bad with a car, and I am expecting it to be VERY busy at the airport right before Christmas so it will be nice to just walk downstairs in the morning to get on the plane.
We've done split stays before. We'll just put enough stuff in our carry ons for those last 2 days so we won't have to dig back into the suitcases.

First set of Magic Bands arrived last night!!! 27 days to go!!

We are at 35 days to go and yesterday we got both MB letters for both hotels of our split stay and today we received the packet for our first hotel which we got the package so we have our vouchers, etc.

We rented points for a DVC stay so I don't think we get anything. I can't remember if I got anything when I rented before. It's been a few years.
I still have the "What Will You Celebrate?" luggage tags, and I know we won't get the vouchers.
We won't get our MagicBands until we get there either. We're Canadian so they don't ship them across the border. Apparently everyone has just been getting them when they check in. We are able to customize them though.. so no prison grey bands for us.
I always get a little excited to receive Mickey Mail, but I'll live without it. Only 41 more sleeps to go!!!

Is it sad that I'm looking for even the tiniest thing to show me we are getting closer to our vacation? 8 days left to customize our magicbands and they should be shipped too!

Yeah, I remember you mentioning that a good while back....We're splitting it up again...after 5 nights on the "north side", we'll be at POR 29th-4th....& then I'm surprising the gang with 5 days at BCR...our 1st WDW deluxe!
