December 2013 Pin Code Watch

Yep someone just posted on the December Disney facebook page that they were indeed allowed to use the pin code of someone who had been in their group last year when they visited, but who is not going this year. A lot of pixie dust for her :)

Yes. We had a reservation and they just added the free dining on.
I called and asked if I had a pin with my name (didn't get one through e-mail) and they said no. They checked all the names in the room- said nobody had one. I went back into my e- mail and checked junk mail- and it was in there!!!

WOW:wizard: Good for you.popcorn::

In January we booked our 9th Disney World trip for December 2013 staying at the Pop Century Resort (We have since upgraded to POFQ).

I have stayed at ASSp in 03, POP in 04, ASMo in 06, ASMu in 07, ASMu in 08, BC in 08, Poly in 2010, and ASMo in 2012...

All in all I really enjoyed the BC the most as I am a huge fan of Epcot but the transportation at Poly because of our DD was a HUGE plus. The All-Stars are a great value because of the money aspect so I was wondering if I am going to enjoy POFQ??

Poly had an extra added bonus for me as I was able to take a boat out on the lake during one of my DW/DD naps which I thoroughly enjoyed (I took almost 100 pictures out on the water of the different parks(MK) and resorts.

:rolleyes1

I'm noticing that most people are going away directly after the thanksgiving weekend into the first week of December. I'm trying to book December 7th through the 15th. The 13th and 14th dates are DOUBLE the rest of the week. Am I just booking too late? Rates were really great last year when I was able to go the week before but I just cant swing it with work this year :( I'm wondering if I'm getting hit because of that pop warner thing going on at the same time??

I think it's a combination of not just going into weekend rates, but that's when it changes from fall to holiday rates also. So thurs will be fall-weekday rate, then Friday..KABOOM!!... it changes to a HOLIDAY WEEKEND rate . I agree, very expensive.
I hope it works out that you can have a great trip.

:goodvibes

It the difference between week day and weekend rates. We changed our dates around...same amount of nights but the days of the week were different adding another weekend night. Our total changed. ( not super crazy)
It's is for the first week of December as well.

We were at Disney last December...My kids all were on the reservation....could they possibly have a pin attached to them even though they are minors?

I called and checked over the weekend and there was nothing in mine or my husbands name, but didn't even think to as about the kids and the cast member didn't ask about them either...

Should I call again asking about their names?

Not sure if this has been answered but I'd love to here from the Dis pros before I call Disney as I know some CMs don't always know the rules ...

My roommate got a pin code sent to her email; I'm hoping that I might use it as we live at the same address, however she will not be coming.

Does anyone know or have experience using a pin code sent via email to someone that you live with (obviously different last names)?

Thanks

You can call and see what they say, but normally, the last name and the address must match when you book. Some people have had success, but most are told no. Good luck! :goodvibes

Tried using a free dining PIN for the Contemporary for Dec 22-31, which the agent said the PIN is definitely eligible for, but was told there are no rooms available for use with the PIN. However, I can book the room without the PIN so there are rooms available. Ugggh... So no availability for POR, no availablity for the Contemporary, but they said they could book me at the Poly, BC, or OKW all of which are more expensive.

So, with these PIN Codes, is availability traditionally extremely limited to set number of rooms?

All Disney discounts have a limited number of rooms under that specific offer. Several people have booked Christmas trips with the PIN, so I can see how some resorts might be out of their given allotment.

So if I check in on December 3rd to the 10th. I would be covered for the whole stay? If so can my TA get this pin number for me?

PIN codes are guest specific, so if you do not receive it, you cannot use it. It is possible that the dates will be offered to the public in July, but not a definite. If you do get it, you can get FD for your entire stay (assuming your resort/room type is available under the discount). FD is based solely on your check in date. As long as your check in date is covered, you can get FD for your whole stay up to 14 nights.

My brother-in-law who has always planned all of our trips died on January 6th at age 6o. It was his heart. We were all in shock. We were in the middle of planning our adult only trip for December 2013. When it happened I didn't think my sister would not to go as we were celebrating anniversaries. It would be my DH and my 25th. My sister and brother-in-laws 10th. My sister has decided that we are going. If my brother-in-law get a pin code do you know if we will be able to use it? She has always been on the reservations.

The only way you could use the PIN is if they allow her to use it and she is going. You can book up to 3 rooms with one PIN, but there is no guarantee that thy will allow her to use it since he is now deceased and will not be making the trip. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks. That was my guess. Nice to have someone verify that. I will say the agents did a tremendous job trying to make it happen for me. Will keep my eyes open for another PIN, a general public offer, or Visa Card offer. Here's hoping ...
