**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I am so toying with this idea. So it was $169.99? And the deal is everytime you see a WDW photographer you have your picture taken, give him/her your photopass card, then get access to all of those pictures as well as a bunch of stock photos? Do you plan on bringing your own camera as well? I'm a camera freak and purposefully bought a smaller camera to take to WDW (but I still plan on bringing my Canon EOS rebel as well). I guess the whole idea of the Photopass is to be included in the pictures along with your family as opposed to always being missing from the photos (because you are the photographer)? I've found strangers to be really nice about taking our photos with my camera when I ask......although I must admit it's nice to not to have to worry about it. Will the photopass photographer take time to take "couples" photos (it's just hubby and me on this trip), or will they gravitate towards families?

I pre ordered photopass plus about a month ago.... I love the stock photos they sent me. However, being a camera dork myself (I'll be bringing my Nikon D70 and a couple lenses with me for the first time to Disney) What I look forward to is not having to pass a camera back and forth with a photopass photographer, the ride photos, and we have ADR's at CRT, Chef Mickey's and the Hoop Dee Doo. However, I plan on taking HUGE advantage of it and getting tons of pics and magic shots. I usually download a couple and have them printed because they have also caught really great candid moments such as my daughter at 13 months wrapping her arms around pooh giving him the best most loviest hug. I think they spend as much time as they can with both groups and couples. They know were all easy targets to spend our $$$

Oh and photopass+ is a red card so all the photopass photographers already know you bought a CD and you can add regular photopass cards to your CD but can only get the special ride and character photos added to the red card.

We're going to MVMCP the same night FLE opens - yikes!!! Anybody else! I have mixed emotions! Do we think the park and party will be crazy busy b/c of it? I'm super excited to be at WDW on an opening day of something, though! Think there will be some cool stuff like they had for Cars Land? At least a pin or something?

Seriously, I would love to be there opening day - yeah it might be a bit more crowded but its a special day and I would definitely think there will be a momento of some kind, like a pin

Yes you can add the other cards to the CD I also heard you can take a pic of the red card with your phone and have them scan it....not sure if that works but it's worth a try.

Fantasyland Expansion Grand Opening is December 6, previews begin Nov. 16. Can't wait!

That is AWESOME news!!! We get to FLA on the 6th and check in to POR/1st day at WDW on the 7th. Now if they could just fill up some of the TBA's in the Candlelight Processional, than everything will have fallen into place.

Awww The whole preview/soft openings etc I'm thinking that the 6th is just an 'official' day for flags & fluff ... and there is still a chance for those who are there just before the 'opening'

Ok... You legitimately scared me. I just emailed my AAA agent to make sure that she purchased my MVMCP tix. I know she won't see it til tomorrow, but I want it to be the 1st thing she sees. Cuz you made a great point. There may be people that buy MVMCP tix just to see the new Fantasyland. And I don't want to miss to miss out cuz it's sold out.

I'm nit sure but I'm glad that's my off day. We'll be at MK the day before so I'm hoping for the AP preview or a soft opening.

I do PhotoPass every trip. I've found that if I tell the photographer we have the CD they'll often take pics of DS interacting with the characters, not just the standard shots. We pretty much stop at every photographer we see. Not all of them are great; they're not mostly professionals. But I have pics with the family, couple, DS and I, DSis and I, etc. and we have every Magic Shot available except one of the Halloween ones. All of us carry a card. On our last big trip I had hundreds of pics ( including the Wild Africa Trek). Al

Of course, carrying your own is still a must. At the very least your camera phone. There are no photographers roaming at the character breakfasts, at the Dance parties and there will always be a special moment when there isn't one when you need it. Also, if you don't have PP, or even if you do, the photographers are always more than willing to take one with your camera.

I agree there will likely be a soft opening not just for AP holders.

I'm hoping for soft openings since we'll be there the week leading into the opening. I'm not about getting all the fluff and whatnot but I really want to see FLE since we'll be there. Hoping they'll let us in during the MVMCP on 12/4

Caribbean Beach is the best! Love, love, love it. So much, in fact, that each time my son and I go to Flordia he says "Caribbean Beach, right?"
