Good to see that you are now locked into the trip.

Now nothing can stand between our Flyers vs. Bruins stand off in Canada at EPCOT. :crutches:

Nothing, that is, with the exception of our better halves preventing us from making fools ourselves.

Still, I bet I could put down more Molson, cheddar soup and pretzel bread than you. :drinking:

Ahh, but my better half is so very used to me making a fool of myself. She'll be content as long as I get her a jalapeno margarita. :thumbsup2

And you sir, are on.

As I said before, I have full tactical command of our vacation... Just kidding. But I have started crossing some t's and dotting the i's. So, as it looks right now, we will fly into MCO the night of 12/6. Stay at an off-site motel and check into the POR the following morning.

The first day will be an EPCOT day and hopefully our CP night (try to get CP, Osbourne Lights and MVMCP done in the first 3 days in case we want to do another again). We'll spend most of the day at the World Shocase and take in the storytellers. Take in an early lunch. Maybe get in TT, M:S or Soarin'. Catch dinner and the last CP show. After the CP, make our way to the VIP viewing area for Illuminations. And then, it's EMH for anyone in the group that still has the legs for it.

Here is out list of potential dining options:

Lunch possibilities:
TS: Tutto Italia, Teppon Edo, San Angel Inn.
CS: Boulangerie Patisserie, Liberty Inn, Yakitori House (SIL & LIL like sushi)

Dinner possiblities: This is 100% dependent on what I can land for the CP pkg.
Rose & Crown, Tutto Italia, Chef de Paris, Garden Grill, La Hacienda de San Angel, Coral Reef

I'll be updating our hopeful itinerary here as well as in my PTR (more detailed) as we go. Any feed back is welcome.

I see that Southwest has changed their baggage policy to only allow 2 free checked bags for 4 people :scared:,

Where did you find that info? I'm looking at SW's site and can't find it anywhere :confused3

Oh, I need to know that, too. I just bought five tickets for our family.

My2Qtz0205, can you let us know where you found that? This is all it said on my email confirmation "Baggage Allowance:
Southwest allows two (2) checked pieces of baggage per ticketed Customer. Size and weight limitations apply."

Thanks!

I just looked at SWA's site and didn't see this either. I'm seeing the exact same information as ses1230. http://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/checked-bags-pol.html I'm curious to know as well. I had free flights for SW and I just booked DW's and my flight to Orlando.

Btw, for any DVC-ers out there linking my BLT reservation to dining online did not work for the 180+10. So I called on the phone, but it was 2:08a my time when I called, and 8:22am E.S.T. when someone answered at the Dining line, so I guess they're open before 9a?

That's a bummer. There have been reports since October of the +10 not working online for DVC, but like someone else said, there were recent reports that it was working. I'll be on vacation on my 180 day, I was really hoping to make my ADRS online. :(

The online system turns over at 6 am eastern and the phone line at 7am eastern, so that sounds right.

That's so weird as I had read a lot of recent success stories in the past couple of weeks. Ugh. I hate the idea of waking at 6, only to be disappointed and have to call. wah wah.
Yep, I was kind of disappointed. It might have just been me doing something wrong though since I've never made ADRs before. But I was able to do the day 1 ADR online, then within half an hour I'd made the rest on the phone so it was worth staying up til 2:30a. :coffee:
Just gotta keep reminding myself these are great first world problems to be having. :goodvibes

Well, maybe the way they stated it on my confirmation was misleading. :confused3. I bought four tickets, but it stated I was allowed two free bags. I would love to know that I read that wrong!

Hey all!

Add us to the group! This is our first trip NOT in the summer and the first trip to Disney for our DD! She'll be 2 (almost 3) for our vacation. Any tips for going with a toddler are greatly appreciated! :goodvibes We're staying at AKL-Jambo, Dec 12-16 and I am sooooo excited!

Now I need to go back and read through this thread. :surfweb:

One quick question, how does Candlelight Processional work? I know we can't make ARDs until July, right? What restaurants are included? DH loves Garden Grill (his only dining request), it is included? And what exactly is it? A celebrity tells the Christmas story? Not sure what to expect..:confused3

I just read my confirmation and I see how it could sound a misleading.
From SWA: Carry-on Items: 1 Bag + small personal item are free see full details. Checked Items: First and second bags are free, size and weight limits apply.

These baggage limits apply to each ticketed customer. So each member of your family is allowed these limits. So you can have a total of 8 checked bags with 4 tickets. In my last post, I provided a link to their baggage policy. So you can take a big sigh of relief now. :goodvibes

Welcome... we are going around the same time 9-15 for us and our DD will be 2 1/2 at the time of trip!!! Happy Planning!!!

I don't know much about CP works really but I do remember reading Garden Grill was on the list last year.

It is a telling of the Christmas Story with celebrity narrator, mass choir, and orchestra. It also last about 40 minutes.

Here is some information from last year's CPDP. I will probably make an ADR then when it comes time to book the CPDP; I will cancel my ADR if I can get what I would like.

That, and I booked our airfare as soon as I woke up! :surfweb: <--This was me, minus the coffee! :lmao:

Welcome! I added you to the roll call. We are also going to the World to take our DD (then 2yo) for her first trip. We are beyond excited to see the parks through her eyes. In my PTR, I have a post about toddlers and rides based on a survey I did. In case you are interested. :)

Have a sigh of relief....I just checked SWA official policy, and it is 2 free bags per person. :thumbsup2

Baggage Allowance:
Southwest allows two (2) checked pieces of baggage per ticketed Customer. Size and weight limitations apply.

Excess Baggage:
Your 3rd through 9th bag or item will incur a charge of $50 per piece, and any bag or item thereafter will be $110 per piece.

Yes, this. That statement refers to each ticket. 4 people = 8 checked luggage items.

Booked our flights!! 12/2 SW Manchester, NH to MCO 6:00am-9:20 and return 12/10 7:35-10:35.

My ADR date is in tge morning and not really sure I know what to do. What is the time?? Is there a way to add you CC info (for holding purposes) before the time or do you need to do it every ADR? Any tips??????

Add me in...... dec 9-15 with free dining for 5 days. Staying at POP with two rooms!

I'm getting ready for my ADR's for tomorrow morning.

I am going Sunday, Dec 2 - Friday, Dec 7th
Staying at the Yacht Club

This is my 8th trip to Disney in total - all which were during the first full week of December. I've only seen Disney while decorated for Christmas.

The couple things I look forward to each year are:
The Gingerbread House @ GF
Osbourne Lights @ HS
Toy Story @ HS
My favorite CupCakes at Starring Rolls in HS

and most importantly...just waking up each morning in Disney :)

The adr's for the combo pkg become available in July. The preliminary list of narrator's should be released in the next few weeks.

As for the event itself... I am what you think of when you hear the terms big and burly. I have been a bouncer in Boston for 16yrs. When we saw THE CP, I was choaked up. I don't think I blinked through the whole thing and can't count the times I caught myself with my jaw open. Also, I couldn't help but hold close the woman next to me. Luckily, she happened to be my fiance'.

I hope that helped answer your question

Somewhere in the world (Walt Disney World) there is Clint Eastwood western, whistling music playing. Should we invite any other NHL fans throw down in our Canadian standoff ?
Could be interesting. Like the Enterprise Rental commercial, except with WAY more trash talking.

Hey all :santa: I've been lurking for a few weeks while we've been working out all our details and thought I'd join in now that we have at least part of our trip booked! We've currently got the 21st-28th booked at Animal Kingdom Kidani and are working on a second week at another resort. So we'll be there either the 21-28 or possibly 10 days in the two weeks, or maybe both weeks if we get all nuts :) I'm getting super antsy to do the airline stuff and meal planning so we've not got much time to iron out all the plans! Thank you all so much for all I've learned from this thread so far!!!
