Arriving November 29
Leaving December 8
Resort: CBR

MVMCP: DH and DS9 want to do. My mom, brother and I are not interested in going so it probably will be just DH and DS attending.

Quick question: Have you, your mom and your brother been to MVMCP and didn't like it or does it just not interest you?

The reason I ask is cuz, even if you don't want to do the parade, or dance parties and what not, there is still the non-existent lines for the e-ticket rides. Being able to walk on to Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Space, Thunder & Splash Mtn., multiple times, is worth the pirce of admission.

Plus... Free ho-cho and cookies :santa:

My spreadsheets have colors and formulas - so that I don't have to keep updating multiple pages if one thing changes. ;) And I keep clipping new info to Evernote. It's amazing after all this time, how many "new" things I keep finding.

Honestly, I'm like this for most of my trips. But at least for Disney my family knows that it's necessary. :thumbsup2

That's awesome :) I'm the same way lol but shhh don't tell!! :rotfl2:

My mom and brother have not been to Disney in 19 years. When I asked them about MVMCP, they weren't interested. I'm not either. However, DH and DS are. It's our first time going during the holidays and I can't see paying the extra price for things I'm really not interested in. Most of the things I want to see come with the regular admission.

We (DH, DS9 and I) went in 2006 and did MNSSHP. We loved it and did take advantage of going on the rides. But MNSSHP had more for me than MVMCP does.

What exactly can you get for your money? Is the parade unique? We are already going to have short lines since we picked the slowest week of the year.

When you say the "slowest week of the year", I hope you don't expect the parks to be empty. Which week are you going? Early Decemer is really not a "slow" crowd time any more, more like moderate time. We have been the 3rd week of December 3 times and never considered it empty by any means. 2010 I thought it was actually really busy some days. Last year, not as bad, probably because 2010 was really cold and scared a lot of people off.

Those weeks in early December aren't even the least expensive resort price weeks any more. I would say the slowest crowd times are early to mid-September and late January. I think early December gets the nod by some as the best weeks to attend because January has a lot of ride refurbs and September is still "surface of the sun" hot.

Most people who go to the party do so for the special party only things like the parade, fireworks, stage shows and special character meets.

Hi there! We are booked 12/28-1/5...the crowd levels have me a bit :scared:. I've always wanted to see the World at Christmas.

We are planning our 4th Disney Christmas. We aren't booked yet because we keep debating resorts, will probably end up at POFQ but CSR and AoA are also contenders. This is gonna be a short trip Dec 26-Dec 30th but sometimes the shorter ones are better because we don't get so tired! Hoping for warm weather this year!

We just booked our third Disney Trip (second one for our youngest) for December 17th through the 22nd. It's a surprise for ours girls for Christmas. We are staying at the new Art of Animation resort. I can't wait to see all the new additions and eat at the new Beauty and the Beast restaurant!

I am so glad I came across this thread. We are arriving 12/23 and staying 5 nights at AKV - Jambo. We have been during the week after Christmas once before, but this will be our first trip during Christmas.

...and thank you TofuBeast for maintaining this thread!!! :cloud9:

Thanks a lot! You are most welcome. I am insanely nutty about keeping this thread up to date. My internet was down at home this weekend, and it was bugging me see people that needed to be added to the Roll Call. Hope you have a great trip! :woohoo:

Hi, I think I'm a little late to the party, but please add us to the roll call! We just booked POP for Dec. 13-21. This trip is for me and DD24 and DS21. My husband and I visited in December two years ago and they have been envious ever since! ;) So, DH is staying home with the animals while we make the trip!

Two years ago in early December, we about froze until the day we were flying home. :confused3 We are from Ohio and had to wear winter coats and gloves even during the day! I hope that was unseasonably cold- any regulars know what we should expect?

I have heard that Dec 2010 was record lows in Florida. We went last year and had high 70's all week. :thumbsup2

200 days!!! :cool1: :dance3: Not exactly double digits, but when you plan a trip for over a year, every milestone is exciting. ;)
And I convinced DH to go to MVMCP!! :santa: He says he is going to ride rides while I "do the Christmas stuff", but I am fine with that!! He actually discussed the plan with me last night and had some good suggestions for a couple days I wasnt sure about. It's a Christmas miracle. :lmao:

Welcome. 2010 was quite unseasonably cold. Decembers are usually a mixed bag. The trick is to layer. Keep an eye on the forecast when packing. Sometimes it can be rather warm (but dry). This year, it was quite warm all winter long. I think I only had to turn on the heat once.

Welcome aboard to all the latest December peeps!

It's getting close to book ADR times for me, only 2 more weeks!:banana:

We were there at that time too (Dec 10-15 POR). And it was chilly, especially at night. When you see our pictures, we are usually in a pull-over or our Bruins sweaters. The 1 thing that I remember most about the cold... During that week, was the same week that a guy took a school board hostage at gun point. That was the #2 news story behind the weather in Orlando.

Those FLA news station do have their own set of priorities.
