The TA Calender makes my head hurt. My original plan was dinner at Ohana our first night and then watch Wishes from the Poly Beach...but no Wishes that night. So then I though, our last dinner of our vacation...but no Wishes that night.

Sigh. Anyone have any good suggestions for our first night or even our last night?I wanted it to be special. First Night: Sunday December 2nd, Last Night: Sunday December 9th (we are staying into the evening Monday as well but we will need to catch an evening plane, so we can't book anything for dinner time). We were not planning on using park tickets that night.

If I'm not mistaken, (at least what was explained to me so I have a Cali Grill ADR pencilled in based on this) on the nights that there is no Wishes, its because the MVMCP is on. If the MVMCP is on, that means there is a special Holiday Wishes Fireworks show which can be seen from any of the usual resort spots. I'm planning on watching it from the Cali Grill on Tues Dec 11 because that's an MVMCP night.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can go with your original plan and just watch Holiday Wishes instead of regular Wishes, they just don't put it on the schedule since its a special ticket event.

^^This is exactly right. On the 2nd & 9th, there will be Wishes, but it will be the Christmas party Holiday Wishes.

Do they pump in the music like Ohana does for regular wishes....

True. Just keep in mind that Holiday Wishes will be at 9:30pm on the MVMCP party nights.

That was a bit of info I did not have! Thanks! If I make a Cali Grill ADR for 8:15p would that be good for watching the Holiday fireworks? We're planning on just an appetizer and desserts and maybe a cocktail or two, :drinking1 not a full meal.

I would make it 8pm, just in case your table isn't ready at check in. Now the 9:30 time I told you was based on the schedule for MVMCP last year. I don't know if they change that from year to year.

going 12/25-1/1 to celebrate xmas with the family...staying at WL! :cool1:

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't even think of that! Holiday Wishes, duh! So tentatively I will leave that as my plan. If we want to have dinner and be out on the beach for fireworks, what time would be a good ADR? And I thank you guys tremendously. I think we are going to have the best vacation ever, thanks to all the December Dis'ers!

Got a pin code for Dec! :cool1:

It's only 10% .

Better than nothing! :rotfl:

Hoping for free dining but will still have a magical time regardless! :thumbsup2

SO SO excited now with a calendar to look at!

What I'm thinking so far:

12/10 - EPCOT day. Would love to eat at both Rose & Crown(L) and Le Cellier(D) but that might be too much food for one day.

12/11 - MK day. Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.

12/12 - DHS day. Think we'll do what we did last year - lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby w/ Fantasmic! package

12/13 - IoA day & visiting family

12/14 - AK day with early ADR at Tusker House. Worked out for us so well last year.

12/15 - Leaving this day open for whatever park we want to see again before we leave. No ADRs.

who is doing the deluxe dining package? Is the money worth it. I think it is, I am so upset I had a pin code for free dining and it expired how nice  hoping for another one. Ive never did dining package before, does everyone pretty much include the dining plan in their package

Hello! I'm so excited about finding this thread. My son and I are heading to WDW on December 30th. I've taken my first stab at a PTR but I'm new, so I can't post the link just yet.

DisneyMom0709 -- We are going for our third trip and we've had the dining plan for both of our other trips and will again. I saved the receipts from all the meals that were covered last time and for my son; we would have spent over $800 if we'd paid for those meals, but the dining plan only cost around $500. I highly recommend the dining plan, it's so nice to have the food costs out of the way before you even arrive.

How far in advance can we make ADR, I think it's only 6 months in advance online, but is it possible to book earlier by phone?

It's all personal opinion and family taste really! With DD right now, sitting down for 3 meals sounds like Deluxe torture to me! :rotfl: She has ants in her pants! And in December, the parks aren't open as long. MK closes at 7-8pm during weekdays, so I find that 3 table service meals can really cut park time short. At first I was all gung-ho for the Dining Plan but now that I've ran numbers, done a few scenarios in my head....it's not a huge savings for us. It was saving about $15 a day max. But when I crunched our numbers paying OOP, I included breakfast, so savings is basically slim to none for us. Everyone's eating style, touring style is different though! If you really do a lot of signature meals, character meals, then it probably is worth buying DxDP. You'd be getting a good value for your money.

OH, and you may want to call a CM and ask about your expired PIN....it seems like they've been pulling PINS out of thin air for guests lately.

We are doing DxDP for our Dec trip :)

anyone doing mickeys backyard bbq? Since I am doing the deluxe dining package I am thinking of trying it out it looks like fun! then off to sleigh rides:santa:

We are planning on doing the BBQ also...hadnt thought about the sleigh ride, but that could be fun. We are a family of 6, so we would need 2...hmm, something else to think about.

Welcome to our newest Roll Call members!!! :cool1::cool1:

And to those who requested changes to your dates/resort, I think I am up to date with that as well.

I am so in planning mode now. You would think I was going next week. Sigh, if only. ;)

I need an update -- switched to Art of Animation, same dates. Thanks! :):)

We will be going Deluxe this trip and we did Deluxe last trip as well. For my family it makes sense because a. my children are crazy breakfast eaters and we do character buffets for breakfast before park opening EVERY DAY (they also wake up by 6 am ON THEIR OWN every day of the stinking year, no sleeping in for me!) b. my DH is cheap, cheap, cheap and would go to the cheapest meal on the menu even if he REALLY wanted to try something different or more exotic than we can get in rural Ohio c. I don't have to budget for food quite so much because I have to pay it with our package and in my crazy mind it's different d. we are doing a signature every night (so only 2 meals a day), last time we tried 3 meals a few days it is was TOO MUCH! Plus, I LOVE snacks and don't feel guilty using snack credits, but would if every snack cost me $4-$5. It just works for us :thumbsup2

I know its 180 days advance but if you stay at a disney resort its 180 days + the first 10 days of your visit you can book so I know I can book on june 11 and I can book my entire dining that day. Did you do the deluxe?
