December 2012...Christmastime in WDW

Thinking of moving our dates from Dec. 26th to Jan. 2nd to...Dec. 29th to Jan. 6th. That way we will get some park time with lower crowd levels and things will still be decorated for Christmas.

We are booked 12/9-12/15 at POFQ !!!!!:cool1:

AAANNNNDDD.....it's a SURPRISE trip for our twin girls!!!! party:

They will be 8 then and it's their first trip. We are just so thrilled for them!

(ps. Is it wrong to be planning my next trip in my head, before the first one) :rotfl:

YAAAAAAY! Your dates are the same as ours... AND ours is also a surprise trip for my son! He will be 5 years old on our trip and has no idea we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, much less even going!

Disneyforme, the parks were closed a FEW days that week? I've read about them closing on NYE and knew the crowd levels would be bad but they've closed other days too?? :sad2: Was hopin to NOT get to the parks first thing in the morning. I was thinking more of arriving around noon staying until 5:00ish and then heading to dinner and done. Just doing a few hours a day in the park. From the sounds of this I don't know if my plan will work.

Yes, we flew in 12/28/11 and that day it was reported that Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios were at capacity. I think if you were staying in a Disney Resort you could get in but we were not. The parks were closed New Years Eve and I don't believe you could get in even if you were staying in Disney once it closed. Don't quote me though. It is extremely busy with wait times on rides 2 hours plus. We went to the Magic Kingdom early and got on space mountain right away. After that the lines just got worse and worse. We were at Magic Kingdom on 1/2/12 and it was still very busy. If you are only planning on a few hours go in the morning by the afternoon it is crazy. That being said we still are going back this year!!

I got a 30% PIN for Sept. so we booked Labor Day week instead of week after Christmas. My kids will miss more school but it will be very low crowds. My plan B will still be week after Christmas but off site:( Always gotta have a plan B with my family.

We are booked for Dec 15-22 2012 at POFQ! I LOVE Disney in December and we love POFQ.

I wasn't going to re-book this early (we were there this past December), but I FINALLY managed to get myself a PIN for the first time, good for our December dates, and I wasn't about to let that slip away. Still hoping for free dining though, which would work out even better.

We will be there 12/23-12/25 after our first Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream. I can't wait!!! I'm just not sure where were staying, probably Pop Century but not sure yet. :wizard:

We'll be at the Poly from Dec. 15 thru Dec. 19. Love WDW at Christmas. Can't wait to order my tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!!!:santa:

Or trip is official now. Airfare has been purchased. So excited to see the holiday decorations and to experience the holiday magic but a little nervous about the crowds. I know it is going to be VERY crwded. Prepared to deal w/ that. more nervous about parks closing and not being able to get in. I really hope this isn't a disaster, lol.

We are going for Xmas 2012, not too sure of dates yet but approx from the 15th for 2 weeks. This will our ds first trip to wdw, he will be 8, he has been dlrp and loves it. Looking forward to seeing the new toon town and the Beauty and the Beast dining room:goodvibes

All confirmed, the 14th - 27th staying at Hawthorn Suites, Lake Buena Vista. Have also booked 1 night (18th) in a Pirate Room at CBR, will be handy for the use of emh.

Now just waiting for MVMCP tickets to go on sale and then the ADR to be made :goodvibes

We will be there Dec 9th at BCV!!! First time taking our toddler to the world!! Super excited.

If you guys want to talk more Dec. excitement, I have a Dec. Roll Call as well (listing arrival dates and resorts). Come join us there as well as here! :thumbsup2

We will be there from Dec 9th to 16th. I'm still weighing various options for accommodations so I'm not booked yet, but should book this month for sure!

This is our first Disney trip at Christmastime, and my first Disney trip with a grandbaby!! I can't wait!!

I thought it was way too early to book, but apparently not! Where did you find the PIN? I am still catching on to the abbreviations on this board (first timer here) but this sounds like a promotion code?

Definitely not too early! I booked last month.

PINs are promotion codes that are person-specific. You get them either by snail mail or email, and they cannot be shared or transferred. No one knows exactly how they are given out, although there are some theories. I have NEVER gotten one before, and I've tried everything from ordering maps, saving vacation quotes, requesting dvds, etc.

Anyway, as soon as we got back from our WDW trip this past December, I immediately started pricing another one for 12/12, just to see what it would cost. I saved the quote and didn't think much of it. A week later they emailed me a pin for 35% off hotel, for the exact dates of my saved quote. I took that as a sign to go ahead and book!

You can't combine discounts, though, so if free dining is announced, I'll have my agent drop the PIN discount and add free dining instead.

We changed our dates...

We were originally booked Dec 20-27 at BW, but last month I added 2 more days to the beginning of the trip...now Dec 18-27. We are hoping to catch the last MVMCP :santa:...now, they just need to announce those dates!!

We will be staying at the Poly Dec 21 - 28th. We are all so excited to be in Disney on Christmas Day! We have been there twice while it has been decorated, just never Christmas Week.:santa:

I am also a little neverous about the crowds but since this is our
12th trip, we are not in a rush to see everything.

Now we just need to decide which park to go to on the 25th and where we want to eat Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Any suggestions would
be appreciated :goodvibes

Subscribing :goodvibes

I got a stay/play/dine pin last week and booked POR Royal Guest Rooms for 7 Dec - 13 Dec.

Its our second trip to Disney resorts (1st was last Sept ASMo) and our 1st at Christmas time .... soooooooo excited!!!
