I wish we could book right now, but we don't have the money to do it. We're planning on using part of our tax refund to fund our trip for what the bowling league does not cover.

Do you have the Disney Visa card? Because you could just put the deposit ($200) on your card and they have the six months no interest on disney vacation so you wouldn't have to worry about paying anything out for some time.

Yes, we do. But we can't go that route yet. Because our vacation bowling league is run by a travel agency, they will be the ones booking everything for us. However, there is a rep from the agency coming in February (date as yet to be announced to our league). It wouldn't do any harm to ask if we could go through them before the league ends, put our deposit on and still get our pin code discount for the two days it does cover (12/2-3).

Which brings me to another question about pin codes. My mom and brother are coming with us (Dbrother is on our team). They haven't been since 1993 and will not have any pin codes available to them. Can we use our codes for all 5 of us (DS8 is included in that 5)? We'll be staying in separate rooms (don't know if that will make a difference). And will it be more than a $200 deposit?

As long as the ressie for both rooms is in your name they will give you the pin discount. I read on here somewhere you can have up to three rooms under the same pin. I would assume it would still be a $200 deposit unless you make seperate ressies. Hope that helps and that it all works out for you

Ok, say we are able to book through the travel agency to get the discount. How do we go about doing it? Is it room only or can it be booked as a package deal (room, tickets, DDP)?

When you book you can book everything at once and give your pin and the % will come off the cost of the room. Is the bowling league booking under their name because if so you cannot use your pin --you have to book under the name associated with the pin.

That's a very good question. I'll have to find out from a few others that have participated in the league last year. Hopefully we are bowling tonight and that it's not cancelled. We got more snow between yesterday and today

ETA: I checked with someone who recently took their vacation from last year's league. Their vacation was booked under their own name, not the league/travel agency. So that's a good sign. The bowling alley also mentioned that the rep from the vacation league usually comes the end of January/beginning of February

Looks like I might need to move my May trip to late November/early December! (Yay! I love going to WDW at Thanksgiving/Christmas time!)

Any deals I should know about?

Looks like we could travel as early as Nov 18, and we'd need to check out on Nov 30/Dec 1 - so we can drive to Tampa for a cruise on Dec 1. It is a great time to go because the kiddo would be out of school for part of the time anyway and that's pretty precious free time given she'll be a high school senior.

Currently we're booked for May 2011 @ Pop with free dining, so I don't want to do anything that might screw that up before I know what else is out there! ;-)

Looks like we can't use our pin code for 12/2 & 12/3 I checked with the manager at our bowling alley. She's still waiting for a call back from the rep as to when he/she will be here to talk to the league. What she did tell me is that no one can book any vacations until June when the league is over. It has to do with the packages deals the travel agency has.

Before we started with this league I called the travel agency running it and asked about the vacations. They are very fexible and have booked many WDW vacations. So I guess we will have to wait until the rep comes to find out how to do this. I would have liked to get the 35% discount at CBR for us, but we can't. Who knows, maybe a better discount will come out when it gets closer.

I emailed Disney last week and asked if we had a code attached to our name. It took over a week but they did reply and what do you know we did have one. I sent it along to our TA and we were able to use it for our stay from Dec 18th-Dec 23rd. We are staying at ASMov but it still saved us $187. I'll take it!

I found a contact us page within the WDW travel site. Just filled it in and they got back to me. It took almost a week to hear back.

It's far easier to call and ask, a reservation CM will check for you and you don't have to wait a week for a response.

I am beginning to explore the boards and saw this thread for travel in Dec 11!!! We are about to put our deposit down and get the planning under way! Any comments/suggestions for resort to stay at for 5? We are thinking ASMov, but have seen a lot of comments about POR... I like the 2 bathrooms at the ASMov family suite, but would like input!

DBF and I REEEEALLY want to go in Dec too... I'm hoping for some kind of deal though, I don't think we could swing it unless we can go for 7 nights w/ tickets & the regular dining plan for $1,500 or less. Plane tickets from Portland are HORRIBLE, I wish we lived somewhere that I had a few airports to choose from!
