December 2011 Code Watch!

Joining in the club!!!! We are planning a trip for our 15th anv. on Dec 17-27. Can't wait!!! Hoping to get SOME kind of discount!!!

Count me in! Hoping to go Dec 3-10th and stay at Caribbean Beach in a pirate themed room. Would love free dining again but any kind of discount is good.

We just had a fantastic anniversary trip at the CR club level 12/7 - 12/17. HOLY COW was that a magical trip. No good bounceback in the room though...just the dining plan stuff which for the 2 of us a nice room discount goes much further.

Well, we will continue to watch and hope, but with no signs yet of a nice fat 40 percent off deluxe resort bookings we are now tentatively planning on spending next December at DLR for a change of pace. We have visited several times but never near Christmas. :goodvibes

If they change their minds and come up with something even halfway decent (I dunno...25 percent on a deluxe would work) then we would probably shift gears back to WDW.

Looking at a trip Dec 30, 2011-Jan. 6 or 7, 2012 to WDW. Right now we are looking at POR for a family of 5. Would love to upgrade but this trip also includes 3 days before at Universal for my 2 HP fans and a day at Discovery Cove for my future vet. Would love to see some free dining, but anything they want to throw my way will help! I can't believe I got my husband to agree to this trip. It is going to be a total surprise on Christmas morning. Already have it planned...a scavenger hunt with presents of non giving away pictures...to conclude with a DVD where the kids have to guess when...how about tomorrow! I am so excited. We never have gone on a vacation (other than trips to our cabin in the mountains) as a family. DH hates to travel!

All I want is a 40% deluxe resort code for 2 nights, maybe 3 ;) , for December 15-18 at Wilderness Lodge ...... I loved it there this year !!! Going to enjoy hanging out this year with y'all !!! ( I'm staying regardless of the discount though)

thinking about the first week of December wish Southwest would publish their flight schedules so I can figure out pricing :)

Ok, really more in on this now. Dh gave more of a commitment on going. :woohoo: I think after showing him the total on this year's Christmas and noting the fact that some of our kids will be away on their own next year....it seems like a better idea than trying to do Christmas here again. Makes me think of the movie "Christmas with the Kranks"....hopefully, we won't plan and plan and then last minute change our minds.

I am jumping on this bandwagon as I am really wishing for a trip to the World December '11. :genie: The problem is that I will be graduating from college about the same time and they take f.o.r.e.v.e.r to post their schedules! So between finals and walking, I am going to try to fit a trip to celebrate!! I'm definitely watching and waiting for a code :surfweb:, as I'm not sure we can do it without one. It will just be me (31) and my hubby (30). I'm almost afraid to get excited! :scratchin (but I'm a very determined gal!)

Question, though...I'm thinking about becoming a AAA member. I hear they get deep discounts. If FD came out, would a AAA discount work with it or must I choose? :confused3

You can join AAA if you need the road service, but I'm a member and every time we attempt to get a Disney trip quote from AAA, it's no less expensive, sometimes more, than just using Dreams Unlimited.:)

I'm here too! :thumbsup2

Hoping for a 40% discount. I'm not picky, I'll take a PIN, AP rate, or general public. There's been a 40% for the past 2 years though, so I'm optimistic. pixiedust:

Hello all! I have been a lurker for quite some time so bear with me as I transition :)

We have visited Disney once during December and fell in love . After reading the posts about others calling just to check to see if a PIN was listed under their name, I decided to give it a try.

Glad I did! We were able to book for December 17-23, 2011 with a PIN discount of 35% at All Star Sports :woohoo:!!! So glad I decided to give it a try. I really did not think there would be anything for December this early and didn't expect such a great discount for the value resort - so excited that I was wrong :dance3:. So if you haven't called yet I say give it a try - you never know!!!

That's great! We're going the 3-10th, so I might try calling tomorrow to see if there's anything out there for me.

Question for all: Do you know if you receive a PIN for your email and you have two reservations that are linked, can you get the PIN to apply to both? We have a res for our room and tickets/DDP and my parents also...

Well....as luck would have it, my DH just reveived a pin mailer code from Disney Destinations with several dates for most of 2011 :worship:

Now we have only gone to WDW in late September/early October but are contemplating a December trip with the room discount :woohoo: We have no clue about December and I was wondering about others' thoughts/opinions on either November 27-December 3rd or December 13-December 20th (or so)?

Which would be the better time? Anybody? :flower3:

We're on a budget so we're considering a value again most likely...though our code is good for 35% off value and moderate resorts and 40% off deluxe resorts, so we have so many options and we're so unfamiliar with this time of year! :goodvibes

That is an awesome discount! I have been thinking about those dates too. (well, give or take a few days) Good to know that discounts are around for this far out.

I have been wondering what the best times to go are too. I am not sure if it is too cold...too crowded...etc. Is it better to go just before Christmas or does it matter. My fear is that latter in December it would be too cold but that too early in December would be too far away from Christmas for it to "count" as our Christmas. I will be interested in hearing other peoples opinions as well. :goodvibes

There's really no way to know the best times to go until they announce their general public discounts. That's what drives the traffic. Whether early December is low traffic next year remains to be seen. It is no longer "value season" in the lowest rate category. Will discounts bring it back down? That remains to be seen.

December has traditionally been a moderate weather time of year, but this year they set record cold when we were there. (And October is typically moderate, but we set record heat when we were there the time before.)

I had the same issue trying to decide on our trip dates this year. I heard early November was good, but also feared it was too far out from Christmas for me to get really excited about the Christmas decor. I guess that's why it's the lower traffic time of year.

Early December USED to be low traffic. Now it's moderate traffic. Manageable, but certainly not low any more.

Congrats on the awesome discounts . We have never been in September but did visit once during fall break (the weeek of Columbus Day). We honestly preferred the December visit to any of the other times we have visited. The decorations, the lights, the "snow" at Hollywood Studios, it was wonderful :santa:.

Again congrats on the PIN and I know you will have a great time no matter when you go :).

I believe so. I was able to book an additional room for my mom, sister, and neice. The CM stated that we could book up to three rooms with our PIN.
