December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

I wanted to get someone's take on my MVMCP day plans.
We're going to the party on December 13. That had originally been my DHS day, with Fantasmic that night & the Osbourne lights.
Instead, I'm thinking of switching Fantasmic & Osbourne to the Thursday evening after AK.
Anyway, I thinking of changing my Tuesday plans around to do DHS in the earlier part of the day. Have breakfast at H&V @ 9am. Then do a sit down lunch at Sci-Fi around 3pm.
Hop over to the MK around 5pm. Do the party.

Then do AK Thursday morning, w/ TH ADR @ 8:30am, then lunch at FTBBQ.
Then hop over to DHS at 5pm to see Fantasmic at 6:30pm then over to see the Osbourne Lights.

Does that sound doable or too much?? Did it even make sense, lol?

Either that, or the party on Wednesday night (Wednesday is our day "off"). But then I think my TH ADR is too early on Thursday.

I hate deciding to do something & then changing it up again!

DH and I will be at the BWV December 12-19, our 3rd WDW trip at Christmastime (plus one at DLR). Doing CP and MVMCP and getting excited as the days tick down, ever so slowly!

We have always done the party our off day, which was usually a sleep in then DTD day. It's nice to be a bit rested so you can stay and take advantage of your party ticket. The rest confused me since I've worked all night but I just wanted to give you that advice lol! I've changed my plans around a few times too, funny how something sounds so good then a few days later I'm all, hang on there...this would be better ! The planning sure is fun though!!

We have always done the party our off day, which was usually a sleep in then DTD day. It's nice to be a bit rested so you can stay and take advantage of your party ticket. The rest confused me since I've worked all night but I just wanted to give you that advice lol! I've changed my plans around a few times too, funny how something sounds so good then a few days later I'm all, hang on there...this would be better ! The planning sure is fun though!!

I think I was confused as well, lol, & I can't even say I worked all night! I reworked everything!
Switched some days & moved some ADRs around & it worked out. The only thing I couldn't get switched over perfectly was Chef Mickey's, but that's ok.
Now we're doing the party on our off day & then doing a late breakfast the next morning & Epcot.
Now, I need to leave it alone. Planning is fun but I'm out of things to do for our trip! So, I'll get myself in trouble if I try to do anything else...

Now I'll jump right in with a question! I'm thinking of doing the MVMCP on Dec. 4th instead of heading over to the Studios for evening emh's. Does anyone think it will be horribly crowded or any other reason why maybe I should avoid that day? It's my last full day so it would be really nice I think. I usually in the past have always gotten TGM for my trips but not this time so I don't want to make a huge mistake. Be my luck that that's the night that all the Pop Warner kids will be doing the party, or something like that !

I heard that they are focused on competitions the beginning of the week and its not til the middle of the week that things get a little busy so you may be ok!

I just booked this year's Christmas trip! We've gone the past couple of years right before CHristmas and during DD's April spring break. So, was so happy to get FD again during this time. Upgraded to DDP and we're spending 6 nights, 7 days at POFQ (our fav. hotel!) I'm hoping since MVMCP's last date is Sun 12/19, they will be showing Holiday Wishes and the christmas parade during regular hours after the last party. We've been lucky enough the past 2 years to stay close enough to Christmas to see Holiday Wishes and Christmas parade without having to go to the MVMCP. We went to one MVMCP at our's was sold out and packed. It was not fun. I hope that it's warmer this year! Crossing my fingers for a warm December in FL this year. Not that we don't go swimming every year anyways! lol Got to love those heated pools. I love the decorations at Christmas. Can't wait to go again!

We are booked to fly in in Christmas day. I would live to have some Christmas cheer in our room. I called Disney floral about a little tree and was told $400. Any other ideas? Also I what the parades will be like since the MVMCP will be over a week before we get there.

I know sometimes a tree swap gets started on the boards, but I'm not sure if there is one currently (and I assume Christmas Day may have high demand!). Either way, I would at least pack a string of Christmas lights and hang them around your window at Disney. Also add some Christmas-themed window clings. You can definitely create Christmas cheer easily and cheaply!

I don't see any reason. Pop Warner ends on the 10th. Touringplans.com has crowd levels of only 1-4 for those dates.

Don't know about Brazilian tour groups, but Pop Warner starts on the 3rd. Low crowd levels predicted on Touringplans, but it's a big DVC week, so you might have a hard time getting a reservation if you want a DVC resort.

Joining in! We'll be at WL from 12/17 to 12/21 with the just released AP rate. Me, my best friend and my two girls. Our APs expire the 21st, so of course we had to go!

I'm hoping that joining this thread will help me avoid over-planning around meals. I remember thinking last time that I put way too much energy into ADRs and wondering why. I think it is because anticipating Disney is so much fun, and that is something I can do--make/organize/change ADRs. The payoff isn't there though, because the meals aren't why we're at Disney--its the fun in the parks and the resort that matters. So this time, I'm trying to make sure I focus on that.

What activities have people done at WL and enjoyed with young kids (mine are both 7?) I was thinking about biking over to Ft. Wilderness to see the decorations.

You are staying at the ABSOLUTE BEST resort to be at in December!!!!
