December 2011 Check-In

we will be there on our annual trip! the week after Thanksgiving :thumbsup2

we drive our camper up and stay on the cheap so we can spend a little more in the park. i  holiday treats @ DL!! & we always eat lunch at least one time at the Cafe Orleans.

we were going to stay a night or two at a DLR hotel so we could get a magic morning at CA, (Ariel & Toy Story Midway Mania). but I checked the rates and :scared1: they are crazy high! IMO it stinks that annual pass holders don't get magic mornings.

either way.... already getting excited fir our trip :)

I am totally curious about the weather and camping. I know you have a camper, but would it be too cold in December for tents? We are possibly driving down from Seattle, and camping would really save us a ton!

I need our name removed from the December check-in....... :sad2::sad1: Hubby wasn't able to get the time off during anytime the Christmas season.....so now we're looking at Halloween time....but still waiting to hear for sure.

**Bumping** :cool1:

DizNee Luver - I'm sorry that your Christmas season trip isn't working out, but hopefully you'll get a green light for Halloween. :)

Last week I finally bought out airline tickets so it's all starting to feel very real. For Belle Ella - our official dates are now 4-10, December at the HOJO. Buying the airfare adjusted our trip an extra day. Yay! ;)

Can't wait to ride BTMRR at night and see glimpses of pretty lights at Reindeer Roundup!

Laurie, I'm sorry you won't be there at Christmas time. Hallowe'en will be pretty amazing though! My kids would like to go at Hallowe'en one year.

Kittyskyfish - we will be there the same time as you!:)

Right now, booking a package through Costco will save us about $200. We planned on doing a character meal at Goofy's anyway....so it makes sense to get a package with that thrown in. Even with the AAA discount for BW PPI, the Costco package is actually cheaper than purchasing the room, tickets and character meal seperately. The only thing holding me back from booking is wondering if there is going to be some sort of deal that I loose out on from booking too early! What should I do????do I book now before the hotel is sold out?

Woohoo! We are going December 22-27. Dec 27 is our check out day and no park. Dec 22 is arrival and afternoon in park. We booked the Red Lion through their hotel site. I got their Disneyland package that includes parking and the breakfast buffet.

We are driving non-stop from Seattle, so will probably leave mid afternoon December 21 and DH and I will take turns driving.

DD will be 6, this will be her third trip. I have been reading about the Holiday Tour and it sounds so tempting. We will see how finances are. Plan to buy the tickets in the summer and might get a Disney Visa and earn some points on that!

I know it's still 10+ months away but there's already some of us waiting and wanting to start talking about our December 2011 trips!! So if you fall into this group with us, drop by and join in the fun. And don't forget to check out the Disneyland at Christmas Superthread!

A collection of our December travelers TRs. If you're writing one and would like it added just post below with your link.

I think I am going to do a surprise trip for my girls for Christmas. The dates will have to be December 23-25. Hubby won't be able to get any other time off.

We'll be there 12/7-12/12 at the Grand Cali Villas. We've been in Dec. 3 times in the last 5 or so years (staying at DLH) but this is our first stay at the Villas and we are soooo excited. First DLR trip for my son who will be 5 then -yay :)

We will be there 12/18-12/24 staying at DI&S. This is our first trip to DL during a "holiday" theme time. Totally excited and can't wait...although am a little worried about how crowded it will be...

We are set for December 23-28. Originally planned to arrive December 22, but we are going to catch a Kansas Jayhawk and USC basketball game in LA on the 22! Can't believe it worked out so perfectly! DH is a huge Kansas basketball fan!

I just joined the board today! I have been reading for a couple of month trying to decide what to do. I am planning to book in just a couple of days...maybe even today!

We are going 12/10-12/15. :santa:
It will be me, my husband, my 8yr son and 4yr daughter, and my mom.
I think we will be staying at Desert Palms, not my first choice but it is cheap and we need to sleep 5....plus the kids are super excited about bunk beds.

The last time I was at Disneyland I was like 10!! We usually go to Disney World and decided it was time for a change.

Hi and welcome! :)

You are in for a REAL treat going in the Christmas season! DL really goes all-out for the holiday - it's our favorite time to go to the park because it's so beautiful! If you haven't already, check out the Christmas Time Superthread.

Thanks for the welcome! I have never been to Disney during Christmas before, so excited! I am already shopping for stuff for the trip, yep I am crazy.

Okay, I'd better get in on the December action too!

(By the way, I have no idea where this thread had disappeared to in the forum, but I think it was on some page number I'd never even heard of before - I don't think there has been a number created for the page it was on!:rotfl2: So consider this like a bump to the 100th power!)

All right - I'm booked from 11/28 - 12/5 at the PPH. Yes, I'm at DLR in November and December this time - I'm usually a strictly December girl, but this year I am all over the calendar!:cool1: Woo hoo! Takin' a walk on the wild side! Conquering both months!

When my chaotic group of friends and travel companions decides at which end of the trip they will be joining me, I may lop off a couple of nights from the other end, but I am also trying to shoo them off after a few days so I can either have some valuable solo park time (meaning picture time!) or manage to meet up with some DIS'ers (if anyone wants to meet, that is!). A bunch of folks will be there at the same time I am there, it seems.

And if I don't cut off any nights, this will be my longest DLR stay ever. I hope to catch the Candlelight Processional, if possible, though I may be exhausted beyond reason by that point. I may have to watch the CP from a stretcher.

I just joined the boards today. Going to Disneyland Dec 11-15. Got the Entertainment rate at the HOJO. 3 kids, ages 6, 8, 12. SO EXCITED. This is our first trip as a family. Can't wait to puruse the boards to find tips and deals!!!! :cool1:

Welcome! :goodvibes You're going to DL at (in my opinion) the BEST time of the year! Expect crowds but also expect the park to be in its most beautiful and entertaining mode. We go several times per year and it's in December that we always wish we had a "few" extra days because it's so fantastic.

OMG - you're going to see the CASTLE all lit up!! I'm so excited for you!

Please make sure to wait for fireworks *one* night in front of It's A Small World - there's a lightshow on the facade and it's so pretty to sit and watch. :)

Awesome news, Sherry. I'm so happy for you to have some dates to work with. My trip isn't until the end of December, but I be happy to come down for a day trip to meet up with you and other DISers.
