December 2010--Who's planning already?!

I just sat with my sister in law to finalize our dates for 2010...we will be there Nov 26 - Dec 4, 2010!!! We will have 5 kids between our two families, ages in 2010 will be 17, 14 turning 15 Nov 29th, 13, 11, and 9. We are currently looking at two bedroom villas and are pretty set on the boardwalk resorts. We figure the kids will be able to walk into Epcot together, take a boat to Epcot or MGM...rent a boat, a bike, etc. Seems like there is much more for them all to do...more options, than at any of the other resorts, as we will be in closer proximity to more things. We are so excited!!! We priced the resort, airfare, etc...just to get a ballpark figure, using the same date range for this year. We figured if we start to save $100/week we should have plenty of $$$ by 2010. Hoping to find a good code or pin in the mean time. Also, still considering DVC...renting points or buying our own...you never know...plenty of time to figure all that out! We will be in Disney this weekend...just passing through:sad1:, on our way to see my parents...but, may stop to discuss DVC...again!

Yep~We've already started planning as well! Went two years in a row-now we are "taking a break" this year. So Dec 2010 will be our next trip! I pretty much have everything including ADR's planned out. Yah, I know I have a bit of OCD!!:rotfl:

We had thought about going this year in December but that's just not going to be possible :(

But we are going to go next December - the week between Christmas and New Years :scared1: Yes, I know it's the busiest time, but because both DH and I are going back to school, and because of DH's crappy vacation situation at work, it's the only time we'll be able to go.

That is exactly our situation...we went in 07 and 08...taking a break...and returning in 2010.
You have no more OCD than the rest of us...lol!!!:rotfl:
Looking forward to hearing about your plans...we have a long road ahead...but, that's just more time to finalize the perfect plan!:cloud9:

We haven't been since 2007 and it's killing us but we want to go back again around Christmas and actually spend Christmas at Disney so we figure we have enough time between now and Dec 2010 to save up enough $$$ for the trip! :cool1:

So excited - despite being some 600 plus days away!!!:banana::banana:

We just got back but are planning for either November 2010 or December 2010. I REALLY want to see Disney at Christmastime! But I worry that it may be too cool and my kids LOVE pool time.

If we go in December it will not be Christmas week but the first 3 weeks of the month. I'm leaning towards 12/4-12/11 since my birthday falls during that time!

Disney at Christmas is beautiful! Back in 1993 (when I was still a teenager :goodvibes) my family went to Disney the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Though the reason we are going the week between Christmas and New Year's next year is because of my husband's vacation time situation.

We were all set to go this past December. 2 weeks before our check-in date, we had 2 HUGE car repairs and a dead computer, so rathing than dipping into our savings, we did the "responsible" thing and cancelled. (I really hate being a grown-up sometimes...)

I mourned for a few months, but now I'm in full-on planning mode again. We're shooting for the 2nd week of December 2010 at the Beach Club. Hubby just rolls his eyes when I ask him where he'll be wanting to eat 15 months from now. :rotfl:

We're planning for the 12/4 - 12/10 of 2010. Went for the first time :scared1: in 2008 and had the best vacation ever. Headed back to the WL.

You said you would like to stay at BWV but the cost is too high. Have you considered renting points? I stayed for 7 nights in Dec 2008 at BWV with a boardwalk view in a 1-bedroom villa for less than it would have cost at a moderate. You might want to consider it. You have to make your reservation 11 mos in advance for the room (you would have to book it in February 2010 but it is so worth it if you can do it.) I rented from a very reliable DVC owner and was very happy with my stay.

Just a thought :confused3

(I priced my last trip thru Disney website versus renting points & getting tickets thru a very reliable ticket master and I saved about $800.)

How do you go about doing this? Just need to ask in the DVC section of the board? :confused3

Looking at going first or second week of Dec 2010

Similar to the PP, my DH and I went two yrs in a row, 2008 & 2009 and I am already looking to plan our February 2011 trip. My DH thinks I'm NUTS!:lmao:

We're planning too. A big extended family trip. :woohoo: I'm so excited and they are all letting me plan the whole thing. I love being in control. :rotfl2:

I will definetly be there in Dec 2010 as were planning on getting married at WDW!:yay:

Were going to do a week at a mod with our families (either POFQ or CSR) and then for our disneymoon a 4 night disney cruise (our first one and its booked) and then a 4 night disneymoon at one of the deluxes.:goodvibes

Congrats to you! I just watched a Disney Wedding special on tv this past week. Where exactly will you be married?

My dh is the same way! He just can NOT think ahead...especially this far!

We will be staying at CR the new Bay Lake area Dec. 27-Jan. 2nd. We didn't really have a choice on the dates, as it will be a grand gathering of lots of family members.

I am trying to convince dh that we need to do a quick trip this fall for free dining. :goodvibes

We were considering between going in April 2010 or December, but December won out (my DS REALLY wants to go to WL and I saw the pics of WL decorated for Christmas and it looks AMAZING!!

The only thing I'm worried about it temperature...according to weather sites, it's a good 10 degrees cooler in December compared to April. Just would like to hear from those who have been during that time as to how they found the weather.

Also crowds :) We're thinking of going right after the Thanksgiving hoopla- do the crowds die down a bit?

Thanks!
Tori

Our plan is to be there December 27-January 2nd.

Hey, we'll be there from 12/26-1/2 also!!!! I swear by the Unofficial Guide to Disney for avoiding lines but with as many people as you are going with, some may balk at the itinerary. I love it because, even at Christmas time, we often avoid lines. You kids may be young to understand why they have to skip some things but go back to them. My son was 5 when we first went and he was ok with skipping rides but was a bugger about wanting to buy stuff. Wanted to shop the minute we got there. He'll be 9 this time so the rules have been laid down a little more firmly this time.

I went Christmas about 20 years ago and it was so cool to see everything decorated. My SIL went a couple of years ago and got to hear Gary Sinese read the Night Before Christmas!

We're staying at AS Movie-need to keep on a tight budget.

Im just starting to think of trying a december trip. I'd love to see the Christmas decorations.

We're going for 4 weeks in August 2010 and I've already started the planning, we have the villa booked already, just waiting on flights when prices are released!

We have been planning a Dec 2010 trip since we came back in May 2008. :santa: We are travelling on 11th Dec and return to the UK on Jan 6th. As we are in the UK, we have already booked the flights, Beach Club and Hard Rock Hotel - we've also a room booked at the Poly, but will be cancelling that as we have just bought into the DVC, so will be staying at BLT and AKV instead!!!:yay:

For Christmas itself we will be on the Disney Cruise - which we booked back in Oct 2008, over 2 years ahead!!! ;)

I'm glad to see that there are others who plan as far out as me - my DH thinks i'm crazy!!!:lmao:

I went there that time many years ago and it's not too bad if you go with a plan of attack. We're going 12/26-1/2 this year again and think we'll be ok. The decorations are amazing although kind of weird to see snow in Florida.

As for those worried about the weather, I guess it depends on what you're used to. LOL, we're from Maine so the average temp. of Florida in December is comparable to our late spring/early summer. I never use an AC here. As a matter of fact, we still usually have covers on at night so I'm sure my little fish of a son will be in the pool anyway, unless the weather gets wonky during our trip.
