December 2009

Oh girl!! Thank you so much for sharing with us!! I may never go...but I can go with you!!!! How fun!! I think my hubby would be entranced in Venice..I would love to go to all the places you went--maybe I can talk him into going someday and you could meet us and be our travel guide!!!! Of course, you and me and my dd would have to drag a few AG dolls with us!!!!

Gorgeous pictures of Venice! It is truly amazing how Disney can replicate something. Absolutely fantastic. The sunset pictures are my favorite.

OH, that was fabulous! Love the pictures but I also loved reading your thoughts about it too. Thanks for sharing!

Ah, fabulous pictures! It brings me back to my trips there :goodvibes I love the hidden streets and laundry hanging outside.

I think the only thing that is missing from the Italy pavilion in Epcot is a canal of some sort. It would be really cool if they had a gondola ride!

I was way behind but caught up now! I let a little matter of me going to Disney World get in the way!! Oops! :cool1:

Awesome TR!! I really enjoyed it. I am dying to go to Venice. What an awesome comparison to Epcot. I can't wait to hear more!!!

OOOOH, fabulous update! I have always wanted to go to Venice and I was in lvoe with your photos. Especially the ones during the sunset. I love how you kept comparing it to Epcot's Italy pavillion. It does put a new spin on touring that area! Did you get any nice souvenirs while you were there?

Venice looks beautiful! I HAVE to get there some day! Maybe my husband can just gie me some nitey nite medicine and I will wake up there...or almost there, I doubt there are direct flights.

I love love LOVE the summer nights fireworks. I don't miss wishes at all actually, I thought I would, but I am so much more in love with these new fireworks!

Wow!!! Your pictures were wonderful. I will probably never get to the real Venice or any part of Italy, so it was nice to hear your perspective on how Epcot's pavilion compares. Can't wait to hear more about your travels in Europe.

Thank you so much for reading, I really enjoyed reading your comments! :goodvibes lol...it's entirely possible I'm getting that word wrong! I'm pretty sure it was three syllables and the middle one was a hard "c." We thought it sounded like she was saying ep-ci-hot or ap-ci-hat, because it sounded a little like "epcot!" It must've meant something like "sorted." An American equivalent might be "check!" or "got it!" or "that's taken care of!" lol...now I'm really curious to know what she was saying too!

Oh I think I know now, from the context you gave, she might have said "abgehakt" - as in, "checked off" someone's ist. That would have been pronounced like "up-guh-harked". Sound familiar at all? :confused3

I had to throw that in straightaway and I haven't even read your post about Venice - I'll do that right now! :)

You know, I was just digging through some guide books and read that they considered it for Italy in Epcot, but it proved to be too costly, so they scrapped that idea - the gondolas tied up at the dock in front of Italy were designed to be part of that attraction. Too bad we can't just go out on the lagoon in them!

Boy did I have some catching up to do! :lmao:

Loved that stroller sign with the Mickey head in the stroller!

I love the idea of walking through the castle...it must have been beautiful inside...and looking out over Fantasy Land on the balcony...:cloud9:

Crazy times trying to get back to Dublin, but I'm glad you all made it in time! :goodvibes

And love the Epcot IRL update! What a beautiful place! I really like that picture you captioned about the sun turning the street to gold...that is a beautiful picture!

I'm sure you miss Europe, but appreciate being back home as well.

France looks so lovely...I can only hope to get there someday.

Epcot France really needs a Notre Dame...or to have characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame somewhere in there. How could they not? The entire movie takes place in the heart of Paris!

As always, fantasic update and photos! I love the architecture and beauty of Europe. I love how there were castles all over the place on your travels. Great pic of Snobbery in a Castle setting!

I enjoyed your comparison of Disney France and Real France. What a lovely experience for you. Thanks for sharing!
