December 2009 Code Watch

I am really hoping it is not free dining. I would like the 4/3 deal again. We are taking the kids out of school for this trip simply because we feel like it is worth it going during a slower time but if they give out free dining it will not be a slower time.

Where are the "Wednesday" rumors coming from? CMs? :confused3

I guess since FD booking ends Sunday, its highly likely something new will be coming out. At least that's what I'm hoping!

I'll gladly take free dining, but we would probably do better with a room discount of some kind. 7 for 4 would be great!

Yesterday maroo posted that "One CM even told someone they have OT approved starting Wednesday...to have extra booking CM's on tap for whatever it is??

So maybe the fall deal....whatever that is...is coming down the pipeline!"

So I guess someone claims that a CM told them something's coming Wed., though I don't know if that is just speculation on their part or could be considered a rumour (is there a difference? :rotfl:)

ETA: maroo is faster than me on the draw! LOL

Oh, and I just wanted to add that my posts about FD being extended were just speculation on my part. I haven't heard anything! Don't want to be starting any rumours! :rotfl:

What happens if you recieved a pin for FD, booked, and then a better deal comes out? Can you combine? My thing is FD is a blessing but were staying at a WL a dream for me but not cheap! So if something like buy 4/ 3 free comes out and I cant combine (which I suspect) can I keep my ressie but change discounts?:confused3

You can't combine, but you can apply the discount that saves you the most.

Unfortunately, you can't combine (or "stack") discounts. If you book and something better comes out, usually you can call and the CM will be able to price out both deals for you so you can decide which saves you more. It depends on how many adults and kids you have, but sometimes for a deluxe resort, a % off deal ends up being more savings than free dining. It really just depends.

The only problem you may run into is that your particular resort or room type isn't available as part of a code. In that case, you may have to change dates, resorts, or room type to apply the code.

Thanks a bunch! Now I know this is the wrong thread but I was searching and I couldnt find the answer. Once your 90 day advance is up how early can you start making dining reservations? Are they open 24hrs, so if Im up at midnight I can call? Or do I have to wait until 5am? or later?

On your 90 day mark the online ADR system will open your 90 + 10 window at 6:01 am. The phone lines open at 7:00 am.

This is where I got the Wednesday part of the rumor! Two different people said that...

Someone somewhere knows....but will they tell us? :rotfl:

This is what I posted on the above listed thread:

From what I've heard, the quarterly meeting is this week (either tomorrow night or Wednesday night- I don't remember. My logic says tomorrow night) and that's why the new deal is coming out on Wednesday. Their year runs Oct-Sept, so they're getting ready to wrap up the year, and get as much business as they can for the rest of the calendar year, according to my source. He suspects it's going to be an extension of the FD. One one hand, I hope it is, so I can benefit from it, on the other, I don't want it to be impossible to get ADRs :/

I just went to play around with the saved vacations I have online (hoping to prompt them to send me a PIN) and the reservation system is down for upgrades...wonder if that will mean good news with some savings for December!

As for the approved OT starting tomorrow, that could also be to beef up the reservationists since free dining has to be booked by the 26th and they are expecting more calls. Now, don't get me wrong, I'd love it to be because there is a great new offer I can take advantage of, but just playing devil's advocate...

Why would people wait till the last minute to make the ressies? I mean...it is $200 to make the ressie...but if you go ahead and make it you are a lot more likely to get the room type you want? :confused3 Does the general public not understand this? And you can get your money back?

Maybe they are about to do a major press in advertising and say that time is running out and that may increase the calls? :confused3

I don't know...but it has not stopped me from checking this thread and living on the codes and rates board a couple of times a day! (Obsessed, I know)

I also wonder if the OT is for something other than the launch of the fall discounts. I posted in the other thread that I thought it was odd that they were still sending out FD pins on the weekend if they were planning on launching an extension of FD to the general public this Wednesday, only 4 days later (as a pp reported is what their source thinks is going to happen). Not too magical for those who got the pins - what would the point have been? Get a handful of people excited only to burst their bubble because they really wouldn't have gotten anything for the pin, other than a few days extra notice on booking a resort. They wouldn't even have any sort of advantage for ADR's.

Sometimes, even it's for the same promotion, the PINs are for different dates. For example, I got an AP PIN for 40% off the room. A week later, the AP rates came out for 42% off the room. But my PIN extends beyond the AP rate dates.

ok....to add to the speculation......has anyone else been on the website to "book" or "play" dates??? I tried last night & this morning & I got the message stating that they are updating the site.........:confused3 Updating with new deals???????? I guess we'll find out soon!

Also, aren't there only a certain amount of rooms at each resort for the code. So if you get the code early you have a better chance of getting what you want before it becomes public.

Ah, ok, that would make more sense. I was just thinking those poor people who just received pins.

Family Suites weren't eligible, but they may be more lenient in these times.

As far as a credit to your already booked and paid vacation that should be possible. From what I heard, it takes a while to see the credit, but it comes eventually.

You would have to do the number crunching, but in some cases it's a better deal to get two adjoining regular rooms for a good deal. You would have 4 beds and 2 washrooms.
