Thanks for the advice, it's definetely worth a call for a chance at a discount. I just signed up for a vacation video (cross my fingers it triggers and email!!!). Just a quick question around christmas does anyone think that spending the extra money to go to fort wilderness is worth the cost? I'd love Grand Floridian, but thats way out of my price range. Im also looking at Corondo Springs. Any suggestions?

Depending on when you're going - I just read on another thread that the Pop Warner Football & Cheerleaders have reserved CSR as their Moderate hotel during their Super Bowl (Dec 5-12)

It has been offered to some at a pin code. We got it, and we just tried to change resorts and were told they the offer was sold out already. We wanted to trade down resorts and save some money.

Hey neighbor (we live in Wantage). I would try and call again. I called not too long ago with my 5/2 + gift card pin and was told it was sold out already. When I called back the next day with a different CM, she was able to book me no problems!

Quick question, I currently have 5 of the 7 nights of my trip booked at the Swan through Starwood. But Im really hoping for a deal at one of the other resorts, does anyone know if I try to hold another room could that trigger a code or terminate my chances of recieving one? Also just orderd maps and started an itenary...keeping my fingers crossed

they may mean the "goofy" code for FD at a value or Mod ( some deluxes MAY have been included, I did not check) fall dates were listed on the offer, but then at the end it said to call for other offers thru 12/17/09. I called and our trip will begin 12/17, which made free dining valid for our entire stay ( 10 nights) we are paying rack rate at CSR, and had to buy a minimum 1 day base ticket per person on our ressie. We did not have any dates blocked out, but maybe becasue our offer was for dining and not room only codes? We received our offer by email 4/30 and package had to be booked by 5/23. HTH!

I got two "Goofy" codes that expired end of April, but neither was for Free Dining. One was kids 3 - 9 play and dine for free. The other was buy 5 nights get 2 free. Neither were as good as the 40 % off code I got earlier, so I didn't bother calling. They are expired now, but I would've called if either had said "free dining"!

I've called a few times. When we first booked we went deluxe and then after talking it over we decided we wanted to actually do 2 trips in one and wanted to change to POP. All values were booked and the only moderate I could get was CBR. We took it and are still hoping to further downgrade. We're taking our 3 year old and he doesn't care where we stay.

Just the odds I guess, I believe all 3 versions of the Goofy code went out the same time, just random who got what, or what may have appealed to each family type....? We know Disney tracks this stuff. Sorry it did not work out for you, but again, maybe more deals on the horizon. Sounds like you did receive quite a choice of codes tho, we received the one Goofy dining.

Well, even the fact that they put out ANY codes for late-season free dining is a good sign...that maybe we'll see it again before the year is out...if bookings are soft as we get closer to that time of year. I just need it announced before October 28th.

$900 more through AAA - I didn't see anything that made me want to spend that much more on just our room. CBR here we come!!!

We got the goofy email with free dining. Funny my husband said he'd rather 40% off room code. Too bad we couldn't switch. He hates being tied to dining reservations although he loves a good meal.

We were there in 2007 at the same Time as Pop Warner, but it wasn't too bad...apparently there were some issues in MK one night after we left. I'm ok with them in the parks, but I would NOT want them to be at my resort. That is why we picked WL...we had considered CBR, but there were rumors they might choose that as their Mod...with WL we know we are safe.

I just got off the phone with Disney from securing my reservation with the $200 down payment (I actually forgot to do this because DH had the CC the day I made the ressies)....anyway, I asked the gentlemen if there were any codes attached to my name or my husband's name. He replied saying that they have an updated system now and they were not able to check that anymore. I just said fine. I then asked how much extra the DDP would be if I added that to my reservation and he would not give me an amount he just said that it would be under $42/adult and under $12/child if I were to add that to the reservation.... Do I call back to get more accurate information? I just thought that seemed a little odd that he couldn't give me a total amount....what do you think?

Count me in for December 2009 too! We're staying 3 nights after a 4 night cruise at BLT. I think I got a good rate, BUT I'd love to get one of these mysterious codes!

OK, I called back and got WONDERFUL news! My husband is a 22 year retired Navy Commander and with the military discount this year we just saved $1550 on our room!!! We also are saving on our park tickets $749! I am SO thrilled! Now to the disappointing part....the Disney personnel on the phone told me that the free dining was going on now and that there would not be free dining in December.....I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. SO....we went ahead got the dining plan this time and will just wait and watch just in case one is offered. But I am SO excited for the the savings that we got! We are only paying $150 more than what we paid last year, even after adding one extra person AND the DDP! Good luck to all of you on our codes too!!!

Well, first off, if you are getting all those other discounts, it is unlikely you could get FD on top of it anyway, though I guess I don't really know how the military discounts work.

Second, don't trust a CM on things such as what discounts are coming out. I remember two years ago when people were fretting whether Sept. FD was going to come, someone called CRO and was told NO FD this year only 2 days before it was announced. So again, not a reliable source.
