December 2009 Code Watch

It is really early, and nothing is official, but I want to join in on the fun!
We just got back, and I need something to get me through until next time :upsidedow
Hi everyone! Hopefully the time flies by, and a year from now we'll all be going nuts with excitement :dance3:

You sound like me; we just got back 9/24 and I'm looking to go back 12/09 for my son's b'day. My DH thinks I'm coo coo talking about it already :)

Surprisingly, my DH was the one pushing for it! This was his 3rd trip ever, over the course of 5 years.
He had been reluctant on going 2 years in a row (which we just came back from), and how he wants to book for the 3rd year in a row! :rotfl:
I think he's hooked now. And I can breathe :lmao:

I booked the Free Dining for next September/October (bounce back...we just got back home) but we really really want to go in November or December to see the cooler weather and the nice Holiday decorations. I've plugged the dates in for 'low' period (after November 29th) and it seems that it's about double the price for 2 rooms (2A, 2J and 3children), so 2 rooms with 4 day base passes/tix and dining plan (basic plan).

I don't mind paying a bit more than the free dining bounce back...but is it seriously double when I add dining to that slow time? And what are the chances of any codes coming out for the general public or disney visa cardholders for that timeframe? Again, the 'slow' time or their low season says from November 29th through the second week in December....so sometime during that period.

Oh and should I go ahead and book another vacation and just wait on a code? Or is that a bad idea? Then again...if I got it booked and started paying on it, maybe we could take two back to back vacations LOL
Thanks!!!

I've taken vacations during that first and second week of December, but went September of this year.

Some of my family is going this December (some the first week and some the second week), and complains that this year the codes and promotions put out aren't valid for that week!
They also say that the promotions (both codes and the Disney Visa free dining) are good up until the week of Thanksgiving, but then not again until December 14th. :confused3
I can't understand why; it was always a slower time.

But if you've never been for the Christmas decorations/events, it definitely is worth it, as long as you're commited to pay that price in the event a code doesn't come out.
If you already have been, then you already know :goodvibes

That's just what we figured; we are willing to pay X amount, and if we get a discount, even better! But we are 100% set on December next year.

I have a Grand Gathering booked for December 4th - 12th. I have a feeling that we won't see any codes, given the way the codes went this year. But here's to hoping!:thumbsup2

I was also surprised when I called to book the rooms over a month ago and found several to be sold out! Because of party sizes, we have one room at the All Star Music in a family suite. The rest of the party has rooms at All Star Movies because Music was sold out for everything but the suite! I was shocked!
It made me a little nervous knowing that I am hitting the Pop Warner/Mousefest time frame. But I am guessing that many rooms are "blocked" in anticipation of those events and may not actaully be sold yet. :confused3 Sounds logical and the CM agreed that was s strong possiblility so check back if we want to try and move all the rooms to the same resort.

Either way - I want to see the holiday decorations and am prepared for any crowds. In the past I have gone in July and August; and if I can handle the crowds/heat during hte summer I figure December will be a breeze! :rotfl:

We've seen the Holiday decorations and such before...but our oldest were younger then and don't remember much. Isn't Pop Warner the second week? We normally stay at the Pop Century and I heard that the Pop Warner crowd stayed somewhere in the moderates? Maybe I was given wrong information though....definitely don't want to do the trip during that week. Maybe I'll go ahead and book a package for that week and then leave off dining. If a code comes in, I'll add dining and pay the difference...if not, we'll pay for our own meals.

From what I've read, Pop Warner is the first full week in December and they pack up the values, with the exception of POP and overflow to POR, & POFQ.

HTH :)

Pop Warner begins approximately 10 days after Thanksgiving, so the 2nd full week in December. Familys start arriving on the Saturday and Sunday.

According to the Pop Warner site, it's being held from December 7 to 13 this year but I'm sure people will start arriving on the 5th or 6th.

Here's some helpful info from the 2008 Pop Warner Manual:

"The Pop Warner National Championship Week Hotel Package includes the following: Three or more nights stay at Disney’s All-Star Resort (Sports or Music), or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside."

"The Celebration Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been moved from Friday to Wednesday (December 10th) of the Championship Week. If you plan to visit the theme park on Wednesday, December 10th prior to the party, please remember you’ll need to leave the park via the main turnstiles to be granted admission into the party."

"While in your Guest Room / Resort
♦ Please be respectful of those around you, not every Guest is on your schedule.
♦ Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
♦ Resort Duty Manager and Security walk the grounds during quiet hours."

i want in i wanna come a day or two before or after my wonder cruise

I have the Swan booked for Dec.18-Jan.2. I got the teacher rate which is 179 for 3 days and 199 for the rest. Ifeel this may be my only discount but am subscribing for more. I am also will to change resorts for a better deal. Keep our fingers crossed.

We just booked POFQ for Dec. 6-13. What will we be celebrating?? My birthday! :) I'm so excited!!

We are heading there this December, and will definitely make it a repeat for 2009. Just have to figure out dates... and take the gulp to book something.

Here's to some pixie dust and a code for all of us! :tink:

We will be at WDW 12/1 - 12/3, thought we would checkout Mickey again before we leave on our cruise...I love WDW at Christmas, the trees are amazing!

We are hoping/planning for a trip the first week in December, so codes would be great. We (well mostly me) want so badly to take our oldest son to MVMCP, our little one won't have a clue, though at 7 months he already can identify Mickey. :-P I'm raising two Disney nuts like me. :-) and hubby goes along for the ride, lol
