I am thinking the first week of December will be a good time to go, anyone agree with me?

I really DON'T want to be there for any shows or parade tapings for the Christmas Day Parade, will any of that be going on around the 1st week?

first week will be candle light presction and cast partys i dont know when they do the tapeings

Depends on when the cast member parties are they close earlier if they are going on. If that is not a problem whit you go for it.

I went last yr 2nd week of dec and it was nice but got cold when sun went down.

Early closing won't be a problem since we have 2 little ones.

I mainly want to avoid stages and lights ruining the view of the castle!

Anyone remember when the tapings were this past December? I believe they even did 1 in November..?

I wrote myself a note that the Christmas parade taping had been on Nov. 10th & 18th last year.

Candlelight Processional will probably be Dec. 6th & 7th. They do not put up a stage in front of the castle, but rather have a large set up by the train station. It also draws a pretty big crowd.

CM parties most likely on the 8th & 9th and the park will probably close at 6:00.

When we go in the "off season" generally the park closes at 8 during the week, with longer hours on the weekend. We don't have little ones but are usually pretty tired by closing. I don't think my bunch could make it to park close during peak season! We must be pretty wimpy!

The weather can be quirky too! The year we went the first 2 weeks of December, I packed for cold weather and ended up buying a whole new batch of t-shirts because everything I had brought was too hot. No doubt, you will need a jacket in the evening as it does get cool when the sun goes down. It was a beautiful time at the park with all the Christmas decorations.

Cast Member parties could very likely be on the 1st and 2nd. They are usually the first Monday and Tuesday of the month, not necessarily after the Candlelight Processional. In recent years they have been after the CP but that is because of what day of the week the month started on. In looking back to other years when the month started on a Monday (like it will this year). the cast parties were before the CP's because the first Monday and Tuesday (when cast parties are held) occurred before the first weekend (Sat, Sun), when the CP's are held. Hope this makes sense.

I didn't even think about that tricky old calendar with the early Monday and Tuesday! Not something I did my research on, (shame on me) I just posted what happened when we were there. I bet disneyfan4ever54 is right about the CM parties being on the 1st and 2nd.

We are planning on the same week , we arrive on Nov 30th my b-day. Hope it is a good time. I think the people who went for thanksgiving should be going home while we are getting there. I have been told it is a good week to go.

I have Mon~Thurs booked @ HoJo's for both the 1st & 2nd weeks of Dec. Once we know when the CM parties will be held we'll cancel one of the reservations.

Well, we'll see what happens, but I am hoping the CM parties are the 1st and 2nd because we will be there during the 2nd week of December and I wasn't smart like DisneyMomma81 who booked both weeks just in case. I looked up the pattern in previous years and along with what others have said, I'm taking the chance. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

congrats its my bday to i went last year it was grate time walk on ride times in the week more crowded on weekend

We're looking at going up on the afternoon of the 9th. We'll be going to the park on the 10th and 11th and coming back home on the 12th.
