According to Historical Info for WDW Resort Discount from Mousesavers:

Package discount for Disney Rewards® Visa® Cardholders for check-in dates 10/21/07-12/15/07 was made available 9/27/07, exp 10/20/07

Does anyone think they will be anouncing any VISA discount later this month?? Are our chances good?? lol

We're going 12/08-12/12 but it seems like Disney is not having any difficulty filling their resorts. Darn it! lol

I guess I missed that code last year - well, last year I wasn't actually even thinking about this Dec. Anyway, I've called weekly hoping to luck up on a code (for 12/7 - 13) but have never gotten one. Last CM told me that the 2nd week of Dec. was blacked out for codes now due to Pop Warner and most resorts have been fully booked for awhile. Thank heaven I at least got my AAA rate. I wonder how much longer they'll consider early Dec. as a value season.

I have heard many people state that the codes are never and won't be offered for that sencond week. But I know a couple people who have gotten the QXG rate for that week specifically. Thing is, it has been about 3 weeks since then. So Im not sure.
I know I won't ever pick this week again. We just sort of picked a week and based it on the value season calendar. I didn't know everything I know now, otherwise I would have picked earlier or later in Dec.

I was just wondering if anybody just calls up the reservations number and asks if there are any rate codes that apply. It always seems as though I offer 2. DGL and QXG. Even though I am cautious about DGL since you can't have a dining plan and we want the dp.
Are there any other codes? Im not a member of CAA or anything of this sort.

Earlier in the year there was a special batch of pins that went out that covered the second week only in December (7-13). I think it filled up quickly, which is why they never extended into any other codes.

Stayed at POR last year the 2nd week of Dec and got a great code thru Disney Visa. Got 9 nights plus 5 day parkhoppers and DDP (for 2) for $1800. It was the week after Pop Warner. I made my ressie this year thinking that it would be the same but they moved the tournament up a week. One CM mentioned to me that the resorts filled up so quickly that there wasn't any need to offer a discount. I still call several times a week and just ask for the heck of it but no discount. Also, when I made my ressie I booked a preferred room - don't know why - and have been trying to get a standard room ever since to save a little money. CM today told me that I got a really good AAA rate on my preferred room so I guess I'll be happy with that. I'd still love to save some more money though. I'll just spend it somewhere else there so it's not like they'd be losing any.

How about the 1st week in Dec...we're scheduled for Dec 2-9 (but are somewhat flexible...). Has anyone ever seen codes work for that week? (We'll be at Poly....but would switch to CR or GF if a good discount came up that wasn't good for the Poly)

RE: Disney Visa discounts. Do I have to have the card in order to get the OFFER or can I sign up once that discount comes out? IE - should I apply for a card NOW even though my trip isn't until 12/09??

Disney Visa sends out emails to cardholders announcing the discounts about 2 weeks or so before the general public so you wouldn't get the info first hand if you didn't have the card. It's possible that by the time you sign up and are approved that the general public discount will have come out, and you would have missed that first opportunity. If you use a charge card regularly, or even occasionally I guess, I'd go ahead and get the card as you earn one Disney Dollar for every $100 you spend. May not sound like much but it definitely adds up. Also, you'll get different discount throughout the year on Disney merchandise. Not meaning to tout having a credit card but if you're intending on getting a DV, I'd do it beforehand.

I've had our Poly ressie since early Feb with AAA. I've faithfully checked each of the discounts released [room only, AP, packages] for the 7 nights and there has been NO availability in any room class at any of the monorail resorts. Period. We were originally going to stay at the Poly for the whole trip, and still could but it just doesn't sit well with me to be paying so much when I KNOW people all around me are paying much less for the same accommodation. So, I snagged a split stay with the first two nights at ASMO [which is closer to the DHS where we are going to be the 1st two days] and then moving to the Poly for the last 5 nights. A tidy $500 savings. Yes, I *know* its a lesser hotel, but honestly the Poly is overpriced- the $$ is based on geography, not amenities. Sooo, OP good luck finding something. CMs have told me they are shocked at how busy everything is that week.....here's a bit of pixie dust for luck!

They have annual pass holders room only rates & florida resident room only rates for that time of the year so hopefully to make it fair they will come out with a room only rate for that time of the year. Of course nothing in life is fair.

WE pushed the week of our trip back 1 week to Dec 13-19. By doing this we can use the QXG code, and we can change to a value from a mod. In doing this we save $550!! We also can avoid the Pop Warner kids and I think it's going to be a really slow time. Which is good! When we come home we will have to throw the Christmas Tree up right away though!!! lol It's pretty close to Christmas since we won't officially get home until the 20th later at night.
Now if only I could get the free dining code.

We did the exact same thing. I had read way too much about Pop Warner week and my DH hates crowds so pushing it back made sense for us. Would free dining be a better deal than the QXG code though??? I am not talented enough to figure that out.

Great minds think alike eh? I didn't think it would be an option for dh to get the different week off. But he said for $550, he will try and work with them. I thought I read that only one discount could be applied. I am a newbie though so don't take what I say to mean diddly. I have been wishing the summer away for two reasons and it finally seems to be getting closer. Like you I started going through some of the summer clothes thinking about what I could take to Disney. Great minds DO think alike.

You can only use one code at a time.

If you are staying at a value, then free dining would be a better discount (probably more so at a moderate too). It is once you stay deluxe that free dining isn't too great of a deal (unless you are a large family )

I shorted our AAA booking to 12/10 to 12/14 and booked the remaining 5 nights we had at CR under the new AL, GA, NC, & SC room only code rate. I saved almost $110 more over what AAA had give us.

It's a link to the Disney Visa Rewards website and they are offering free dining with your Disney Visa under code QXZ. The poster on the other thread said she talked to Disney and that they should start booking this later today or tomorrow. This is great for those of us who didn't get the free dining email pin code.
