December 2008 Code Watch

I am wondering something, hoping someone could help me out here. I already have the QXG rate. Right now (no dining package) I have 6 nights @ ASmo, base tickets, preferred room for $1077 for 4 (one 3 and one 2 yr old). I am grateful, if we don't get free dining then fine. But of course, if I can save more money than even better!
But would the Dining code take away from my room rate? Im just wondering if it is even worth holding my breath for?

thanks!

This was just posted on another thread:

http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/n...tml#footnote_1

It's a link to the Disney Visa Rewards website and they are offering free dining with your Disney Visa under code QXZ. The poster on the other thread said she talked to Disney and that they should start booking this later today or tomorrow. This is great for those of us who didn't get the free dining email pin code.:cool1:

Check it out!:goodvibes

You had me all confused lol I get instant emails from this thread and the Free Dining thread. So I thought I was posting these posts over there. lol I got both of your posts which were the same... ok... done being confused, just thought it was a little funny.

I can not get that link to work, can you post the dates, also do you think this will be a GP code in few days?

I couldn't get it to work neither. Here's to hoping it will go GP soon. I would think that perhaps there is hope since they tried to emails, and now going to Visa members. Tells me they didn't get enough bites.

Come on GP!!!!!!!

I would like it to be from the 7-15th. I am checking in on the 6th but will take the partial trip. I have to do some math but I want to go to Hoop dee Doo and this is a great way to get there since it is out of my reach with the regular prices and my family of 6 (2 of my kids are classed as adults so more $$)

I got it to work if I just deleted everything after the ".com".

I think the other special offered right now may be better for us - the fall package through the 23rd of Dec - it was like getting the tickets for free. I'm tempted to go the 19th, but shouldn't (spend the money, or go on another vacation this year!). We were saving about $700 - $1100 for the 5 nights which is more than dining for the 3 of us (1 adult, 1 junior, 1 child).

And I just got rid of my Disney Visa! Darn! Maybe I'll reapply.....

When was the VISA free dining code available? I called this morning after reading the post but there was nothing available for WL. Just not fair. . . give me SOMEthing lol

I just called and the code wont work until tomorrow. I already have a code on my reservation, so i get to use only one. I will wait to see which comes out cheaper.

The general public QXD code saved us $637.00. The Disney Visa QXZ free dining code will save us over $1,500.00. It's a no brainer for us!

You would have to choose between one code or the other. Free dining would save more money for 2 adults and 1 child (since the 2 year old isnt eligible for dining) at AsMo than the QXG rate. That was $30 per night at the most, whereas free DDP would be closer to $90 per night. HTH!

so if we originally made ressies with a PIN received in the mail from Disney, and we HAVE a Disney VISA, could we use the new free dining and still keep the ressie made with the pin?

On the phone with Disney right now and they can't see that it's an active code, and like a Previous Poster said it will be avaliable tomorrow. :yay: This will save us about $500 over what we saved with the QXG code. (This will of course replace that code) :wizard: I am loving all this pixie dust!

You can keep the reservation, but you will have to pick one pin code or the other. You can't stack discounts. It's either the general discount room discount code OR the Disney Visa free dining code, whichever saves you more money. The general public code saved us $637.00, but the Disney free dining code would save us about $1,600.00. But, we have a large family and two rooms, so it just depends.

thanks PrincessTiffany -

something else I just realized. Only my portion of the ressie is on Disney VISA, my friend's portion is on a different card. That may null the opportunity.

Do you trust him/her to pay you back? :rotfl:

I assume this works with the Rate codes as well? QXG to be exact.

Why oh why did I hold off getting a Disney Visa?! Why God Why?!?!?!?!??! LOL I'm thinking if I applied today I wouldn't be eligible for the Free Dining offer. Booo.

You can always call Disney VISA and ask that question. They may also be running the promo of $25 off the first use of the card.

Then there is the Disney Rewards card you can get after you have a month's worth of charges on the VISA. I activated a Rewards card last year the month after I charged the trip on it and took that to the parks where it can be used same as cash in 99% of the shops. Double check on the website or ask them if it is $1 on the rewards card for every $$$ you have charged on the VISA.

Please forgive me if this has already been asked, but what happens if we book the visa free dining code (QXZ) and our stay begins one night prior to the beginning of the "free" part of the dining? Will we pay for the dining plan for that first night, or might it be included in the promotional rate (:lovestruc wishful thinking!)

Thanks,
Jennifer
