Heard from a mamger friend that many weekends (Fri & Sat) nights are blocked for AP rates at some deluxe resorts. I know for sure WL was blocked for AP rates in early December. CR was available for Fri thru Tuesday.

This is really interesting about the WL. I say that because I was offered a couple days at the WL with the AP rates. Unfortunately it was in the middle of dates I already had elsewhere.

It seems to be the luck of the draw. The infuriating part is that they do have rooms available but will not release them for AP

Looks like we may be staying offsite again this trip.

Nope we've had no luck either. We did get an awesome deal thru CAA though.

Yes my niece is staying at Pop from Nov.25th-Dec1st. And she got a discount of $220.00.

My hubby and I are staying at the WL Nov.25th-Nov.30th. We got a discount of $270.00.

My sister and brother-in-law as well as my nephew and his family are at CSR Nov.25th-Dec.1st. They each got $258.00.

I really could not believe that we all received the discount. My niece got hers on the Disney Visa code. My sister, nephew and myself all got ours on the general public code. We all have the dining plan.

Perhaps the only reason your neice got it WAS the VISA card - we don't have one but gosh, I think I'd apply for one if it meant I get a discount. Can I do that?

We had already booked a 7 night stay at AKL for December 9-16. When I called to apply the Disney Visa discount, we saved $378. Woo Hoo!!!!!

I have been calling like it my new religion to get the code to go through for pop. I finaly got so irritated that I canceled my code offer and went with a room only res. with AAA discount then tix separate. The sad thing is, its only about 40.00 more than the code by doing it this way.

Actually, I have seen a few get Pop. It really is very weird. A very few random peopel seem to be the lucky recipients. Maybe Disney is saying for every 100 AS we release, we will release one Pop. lol Anyway, I moved to AS Sports, saved $144.54. I thought that will be extra souvenier money. We liked AS Sports before, so figured might as well switch, over having continuous stress trying to get the discount for Pop.

Very well said. I couldn't stomach having to stay there so went back to the pop for a bit more money. As I said though, it only comes out to about 40.00 more than the code.

I am at POP December 2-9 and got $261 off with the code. I'm glad I got POP, because I wouldn't want to go to All Stars during Pop Warner week. I could have upgraded to a moderate for another $130, but I'm going to only use the room to sleep, so I'd rather just have the discount.

Did you get the code for the pop through a TA or through calling Disney?

I called Disney direct. I originally had a TA because I never went to Disney before and figured I needed the help, but after reading all these forums, I figured that if a code came out, I would rather do it myself and not wait for a TA to go through all his/her reservations to get to mine. So, I cancelled TA booking and did it myself. Since I already had a reservation for POP, the code was just applied to it, if that makes a difference. I don't know if you already had a ressie or are setting up a new one, might be the difference. Maybe I was just lucky.

I already had an AA discount direct with Disney, I called and had it changed to AP for 12/13 to 12/18. I guess I was one of the lucky ones to stay at Pop. I also got the food gift card.

Aaargghh! - still hoping for a POP discount for Dec 7th or 8th thru the 15th. I already have the AAA discount, but every little bit helps.

My TA is going to be trying all this next week - she said that a few rooms open up here and there at POP as people are upgrading or switching resorts.

We're in on a fridge swap at POP, too, so I told her I didn't want to switch resorts unless I could save over and above the price of a fridge for the week.

We got the Pop for 11/26-30 with a discount of about $250-included dining plan. I called early Thursday morning to book it so I don't know if maybe they have just sold that many packages since then.

I called to check out what I could get toward my ressie for Dec1-8 at WL-nothing! If I switched to a cabin at Fort Wilderness I could save, but I really didn't want to move because it's our first time visiting for Christmas. I don't want to give up the decorations and ambience for the savings. Silly me!

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but what do you guys think of the chances of there being a room only discount??? Am I crazy to be hoping for one??

Hey everyone we were booked at ASMo 12/8 - 12/14 with dining for $1554.38 We just called and tried to use the ZQH code but they said there were no rooms available at ASMo using that code. We asked if there were any other resorts available and they had AS Sports and ASM available. We booked Sports for the same dates and our new total is $ 1330.58. We saved $223.80!

TO the poster who said she didn't want to upgrade unless the upgrade would be more than the cost of the refrigerator rental -- There is NO charge for refrigerators in the moderate or deluxe resorts. They are standard in every room.

I still have not heard from Guest Relations regarding my e-mail that I sent last week. I will wait another day or two and then e-mail again. I may be down grading my stay from AKL to CSR if nothing happens. Rack rate at SCR is still considerably cheaper than what I'm paying at AKL.
