December 2005 Info, Code, Dining, & Special Package Watch! :)

Sounds like something I will look into as well. We either have to get two rooms at WDW (suites are too expensive there) or a 2 bedroom suite with a pullout bed elsewhere. Do they have these there for a relatively good price as well?

I'm not sure but I would definitely check out Mousesavers or All Ears Net for a discount. Maybe even Expedia...I've seen them listed before. I think the highest rate I've seen is $139 a night for a King Suite.

mom_rules, the hotel that worked out best for us was the Buena Vista Suites because it has two queen beds and could accomodate 6. The other hotels on the MouseSavers.com site had about the same floor space, but only one King bed, or two double beds. We're going to need the two queen beds for our family (plus the pull-out sofabed).

I called Disney today to see how much of a discount we would get with the new deal, and it was about $400. Not bad, but we would still save around $200-$300 by staying offsite, a little more if I count the value of the free buffet breakfast each day for our family of 6.

In case you want to look at Buena Vista Suites, here's the website review, with pictures and special discounts: http://www.mousesavers.com/buenavistasuites.html

I just wanted to post an update. My husband told me today that he was really looking forward to trying the new restaurants at Disney after I had told him about the dining plan. So now we may just decide to stay onsite after all and add the dining plan. :flower: We need to make a decision soon, though... this going back and forth is driving me crazy! ;)

I need to konw if there are any codes available to help for resorts, tickets, and or food in december check in dec 14

I'm getting excited about the deals that seem to be coming for those planning for trips in earlier months and thought we could use our own special place to watch for December codes, free dining plans, free rooms, free tickets, free everything... okay, guess I'm getting a little carried away. ;) I told you I was excited! :sunny:

Seriously, I hope it's okay for me to post a thread for just us December folks since we're on the tail end of things. Post when you have a chance and let us know your travel dates, and what types of codes or discount packages you're looking for most (low AP rates, free dining, deeply discounted AAA rates, whatever!)... we can all dream together! :flower:

There were codes released today for Nov and Dec. !!! I wasn't able to use them because my resort was already sold out this am when I tried.

are the codes the YQC and the YQE? I am confused, are there more than one set of codes? :confused3

I want to get a discount for Dec 11-17 at the CR. Will I do better going through Disney with a code or through AAA?

Hi,
Newbie here. We are going to DW from Dec 2-12. No room booked yet, nothing done other than airfare. Any help in securing discounts would be greatly appreciated! We live in So Cal. We have an AP for Disneyland not for DW. In reading this thread it looks like some or all of these discounts are for AP's?

Thanks,
Cheryl

I'm confused to these codes? We have 1 night room only booked at the WL. Is there any room only codes for December? :confused3 I know there are some for Oct/Nov. and package codes for December. Boy, they make this stuff confusing! I'm just looking for a discount; we are going during the value season, not during Christmas. Any help would be appreciated! THANKS!

To the best of my knowledge so I hope someone will jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong, there is no room only code for December/January stays.

We will be there from 12/22- 1/1 and I was able to book our trip using code YQC which is a package code for room and tickets. I am considering switching the code to YQE which simply is the YQC code with Dining Plan.

But, you could add just the one day base MYW ticket to your roon only and call it a package I think. You would have to determine if your room savings would offset the cost of the ticket though.

I was still playing around with rates directly one the Disney site very late last night after midnight and it appeared there were still rooms at Coronado Springs as well as a few Deluxe resorts for my time period.

It's worth a call!

If I were you, I would book VERY SOON. We are going 12/3-12/10 and are trying to get an additional room for more of my in-laws and, so far, a lot of the resorts that we wanted are booked.

Good luck!

Hi everyone,

We decided to stay onsite after all, and to get the dining plan. My family wants to include dining at different types of restaurants to be part of the experience, so that's why we decided on the package, plus dining.

I hear that the January/February folks are starting to get codes now. I'm excited for them! :flower:

I think you made a good choice. I personally feel that staying onsite at a Disney resort is part of the whole experience. And you get the extra perks - Magical Express, Extra Hours, dining plan, etc.

Not much longer now, tripmates! Anyone want to share their trip strategies, restaurant choices, and any other plans with us? Let's keep the excitement going! :Pinkbounc

I am so excited that I can hardly stand it. It's been almost three years since my last trip (and I've had two kids in that time) so I'm ready for the "vacation."

This will be our first trip as DVC members so I'm making out our grocery list. I've also been keeping a "to-pack" list handy for the past several months, adding to it as things pop into my mind.

I've only made a few ADRs since sticking to any schedule with a 2.5yr old and and 11month old is unrealistic. The only other thing we have on a schedule is MVMCP. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

My biggest strategy for this trip is to go at my kids' pace and then let my parents (who are coming along with us) babysit ALOT! :)

Good move - bringing grandparents! :bitelip: The couple times we've gone, we use to see and comment on the young children who were having "meltdowns" by early afternoon and the determined but unhappy looking parents hauling these tired and cranky kids around. Even my daughter who was 6 last time we went needed a break by mid-afternoon. Too much overload on excitement, etc.

P.S. I see how you commented on staying outside of WDW was a mistake in 2000. We have friends who just came back from WDW and talk about next time staying offsite. How friends had a beautiful big house offsite and want to do the same thing next time. My comments were that you're probably not saving that much $, you're spending time traveling back and forth, missing out on early entry, etc. AND missing out on what we consider part of the whole magical experience of Disney - staying at a resort onsite. I would only consider it if we were spending a lot longer time in FL and planned on also going to Universal, Seaworld, visiting friends, etc.
