December 2003 Adults & Solo Travelers

After three trips playing tour guide with assorted family and friends, DH and I get a nice trip at VWL all to ourselves! We're there 12/28 to 1/2 for NYE and my birthday (12/30)!

Heading down Dec. 7 - 20, 2003 (from Ontario, Canada). Staying off property, hoping to rent a house. We are two couples (no kids) travelling together. It will be our 16th trip since 1985 and our friends' 3rd trip. We just love the Christmas Season at WDW. We have always found it to be the perfect time for us, not too hot and not too crowded.

Heard a rumor that Osborne Christmas Lights may not be up this year. That would be too bad, but we won't let it spoil our holiday.

170 days to go, but who's counting (WE ARE).

We will be there the 5th thru the 20th. First time with frends. Hoping someone will set up a desert party in epcot . maddy

While we are a family going...6 adults & 4 kids...we will be having plenty of "adult" time! We are going 12/27-1/3 & staying at the Swan. Would love to have gone down beofre Christmas, but will enjoy New Year's Dis style! As someone who has stayed @BC, I was happy to get the Swan @the AP discount. We had originally planned to stay offsite because of the price & time we were going. Just so you know Jason, you are going to love being in the Boardwalk area, there is just so much to do....try Jellyrolls, it is my DH's favorite place to go. Maybe we will see you there..we are 2 couples, 2 singles & 4 little ones! Kathy ;)

Wasn't able to go to Disney last year, so I'm very much looking forward to this year's trip. So far, it looks as if I'm heading down solo (although a friend is "thinking about it."). Staying at Port Orleans/Riverside for the week.

Hoping this year I'll do some of the things I'm always saying I'll do, but never get around to. Among them:

Eat at California Grill

Play miniature golf at the course by blizzard beach

Pay a visit to Fort Wilderness, maybe do the movie/smores thing

If anyone else is planning a solo trip and is looking for someone to hit a park with, do a meal with, or get silly at Jellyrolls, drop me a line and we can chat.

Hoping to meet some of you posters, as I know folks from a lot of the different boards will be having a Meet that corresponds to the time I'll be there.

Counting the seconds...

DH & I going 12/4-12/8 w/ MVMCP on Friday. I hope it's not going to be too crowded. No Specific plans other than go out to dinner w/o having to make sure the rest. serves grilled cheese & french fries. It will be nice to just spend some relaxing time down there instead of commando style like my sons prefer to do.

Little big brother (27) and I are going December 27 - Jan 2 (crazy time of year I know). I decided in May to go on a dog show circuit for 3 weeks in January 2004 and thought what the heck, let's go to Orlando for New Year's - we're flying with the dog to Phily (short 2 hour flight from Bermuda), dropping the dog with our friends and catching a flight to Orlando. WIll meet up with dog and friends Jan. 2.

I am so excited about this trip - not heavily into doing parks anymore - staying a Boardwalk Inn - hopefully PS for Flying Fish (love it), California Grill, Biergarden, Bhoma. Looking forward to seeing all the decorartions, doing the CP, chilling out, play some golf, say hi to Mickey and Eeyore - the usual :D

I'm doing the 139 day dance :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

time I love Christmas in WDW its the best.
Have a good time.

:D :D :D :D

Well like many others still waiting I booked at Pop Century without an AP rate. Dec 7 thru 13 at RPR over at UF then like a few other "brave" (may end up being "what was I thinking") people 14 thru 20 at PopC. I talked to CRO and Guest services and they guaranteed me at least one of the bars would be open.

Glad it is just me this trip have a great book stashed for the 7-hour check in.

The possibilities are fun to think about. Like sorry sir we can’t start breakfast no one has matches for the grills. Sorry sir we made a typo on the Buss schedules and they wont start until the 24th. Sorry Sir we don’t carry Stoli at this resort....sir ...sir please stop shaking and get up of the floor you might smush the tile the mortar is not dry yet.

DH and I will be arriving 11/26 and departing 12/8. We'll be at OKW 11/26 - 30, going on the Disney Wonder 11/30-12/4 and then back to OKW 12/4 - 12/8.

December is our favorite time to visit the mouse.

We have tickets to the 12/7 MVMCP. thinking about getting tickets for 12/4 too. We really enjoy being at the MK at night, with snow on main street, the parade ... the atmosphere is just so festive. Will also book CP dinner as soon as they become available - probably 1 for each WDW segment of our trip. This is our favorite holiday show. Will miss osborne lights this year!

We always enjoy taking an afternoon to resort hop to check out the christmas decorations. love the GF, WL and AK trees. the beach club and Board Walk always have delightful lobby displays.

Downtown disney is fun too during the holidays.

Can't wait..our next trip is the food and wine, 10/28-11/4.

Happy Holidays!

I'm going solo December 11th through December 15th. Arriving late night on the 10th and staying at the Hyatt Orlando International Airport and sleeping in and being lazy the morning of the 11th. I'm picking up my rental car early afternoon on the 11th and transferring to the Grosvenor in DTD for that night. I plan to spend time at DTD during the afternoon (we only had 30 minutes there in August and didn't see much!), then going to MVMCP the night of the 11th.

On the 12th, I'll transfer to the Yacht Club on the Winter Dream Maker Package. I'm hoping to get a PS at Rose & Crown for the Candlelight Processional that night, and possibly a PS for a "regular" dinner at LeCellier on the 14th.

Other than that, my plans are:

Park opening at MK (a first!)
Time in Future World (M:S, TT, Figment. We wiped out here in
August)
AK for Tarzan Rocks! & Dinoland is that what it's called? It was
so humid in August that we managed only 3 attractions at
AK)!
Disney-MGM: Beauty & the Beast and just look around a bit.
MK: See if CoP is open (doubtful, but I'll check), train ride
around the park, Jungle Cruise (couldn't board in August due
to leg injury), hopefully SpectroMagic and new fireworks show.
EPCOT: Time to look around in World Showcase & IllumiNations.

Other than a couple of PS's, pretty flexible. If anyone wants to get together for a light meal or time in the parks, please PM me. I won't have a park ticket on the 11th.

Taja :sunny:

P.S. I don't do thrill rides!

I haven't made any special plans yet because I'm still thinking about it, well hoping actually, but I'm contemplating going down the end of Nov., first week of Dec. I have an AP that expires Dec. 3rd, and it's burning a hole in my pocket! :;) :)

If I go, it would be my third solo trip at that time of year. The last two have been great fun, and I got to spend time with some wonderful DISers. I hope I can do it again! :) :)

DH and I (newlywed couple in our 30's) are going from Dec 6th to the 20th. We will be on the coast for several days before we hit Disney.

We are going to MVMCP on the 9th and have a PS for Crystal Palace. We have room at our table for another couple if you want to join in. The PS is for 5:15 before the party.

We have CP dinner ressies at Morocco for the 14th.

Hope to see some Disers while we are there. And YES!, we will wear Lime Green Ribbons.

Hello All -

I will be at PO/Riverside December 4 - 9. Anyone interested in joining me for MVMCP or dinner one night?

I have traveled alone to WDW in the past and find I miss the good restaurants because I do not like dining alone.

Let me know!

Can 'maybes' join in? We found out that we have about a 95% chance of going Dec. 14-21. Of course, DH is in the military, so that 5% is very variable. (He ended up not being able to go on our November trip last year within the last two weeks beforehand!) We will have confirmation on Nov. 25 when we find out where - and more importantly - when he reports for duty next. Less than two months until we know!

My husband and I will be going down 12/23 to 01/04 and can't wait. He gets to drive at the WDW speedway and he is extremely excited. This is only our second trip and looking forward to all of your advice.

Hi,

I booked a package deal with my travel agent on October 13, 2003 for the above trip.

As a seasonal Federal employee who got laid off from August 29 to October 1, 2003, I almost didn't book anything anywhere because I believed I would be out of work until January.

But through the grace of God (who else?) I got called back to work starting October 1 so now I can go.

I am staying at All Star Music for 11 nights with Length of Stay Pass, all airfare & transfers as well as a Flex feature.

I will be flying down from Philly at 6:30 am ET and arriving at Orlando at about 9:00 am on the 3rd, which I want to use to resort hop.

The next day, December 4, I want to go to Epcot and eat dinner at Biergarten in World Showcase.

I do not know the rest of my schedule and wonder if I should book my priority seatings as soon as possible.

Does anyone wish to hang out?

Jim
