December 20 2009 3 night Wonder

We avoided the parks (though it killed me!)
Oh my goodness, you have some willpower! Glad you had a great trip. :)
I am definitely up for meeting that first afternoon. We were going to try and get there early so we would have time to explore the ship and maybe hit the pool. Any ideas on where would be a good spot?

We would love to meet you guys that first afternoon. Just say the time and place and we'll be there. :woohoo:

Yay!! :yay: It'll be great to meet you guys.

Perhaps we'll get some more people joining in this thread who've cruised before and can suggest somewhere. If not, we can always peek at some of the other meet threads and see where they're meeting! :rotfl:

Anyhow, hope you all have a very Happy Easter. :goodvibes

We have Disney already booked, so we are staying at Disney. Going to go to Discovery Cove instead of going to Nassau right after Christmas and rent Sea raycers. We'll do nondisney stuff, consdiering the crowds!

Next year, we'll go to the Bahamas if we like it. We'll see once we done Nassau after the cruise...

I can't wait to meet everyone and to have our kids meet. My son suffers from cystic fibrosis and juvenile arthritis. He is oftened bullied and very weary of kids he doesn't know. I think he would be so happy to meet some nice kids who see past his illness . Gosh, middle school has broken his spirit, I hope this cruise can show him, there are good kids his age!!!!

Bring this cruise on!!!!!

Oh Charleyann, you'll have a wonderful time at Discovery Cove!! Have you been before? We went on our first trip to Orlando in 2004 ~ it rates as one of the best days of my life. :cloud9:

 for you and your son. Kids can be so so cruel sometimes. :sad2:

I hope he'll have such a fabulous time on the cruise.

We have been to Discovery cove 3 times. We find that place so relaxing!

I can't wait for this cruise.....

Charley Ann

Wow!! Three times, lucky you!! :goodvibes

Have any of you read about fish extenders on the main cruise board? They seem great fun to do and I wondered if any of you would be interested?

Yes, yes, yes! I have read about them and think they sound like fun. I was hoping somebody would bring them up. Some of the threads say that they aren't as popular on the three day cruises. The same with the door magnets. But, I would definitely be interested. Even have some ideas on stuff...

Yay!! :yay:

I've got some ideas too..........I really hope we do it, it will be so much fun! :)

Well, it is exactly 8 months today that we fly out to Orlando :yay: and then we will have 3 days to play in the parks before we head off to Port Canaveral and the Disney Wonder! :cheer2: pirate: :cheer2:

I am starting to get into full planning mode now   we are hoping to visit all 4 Disney parks on those 3 days and also book tickets for MVMCP on the 18th December.

We are also hoping to book the Candlelight Processional package for Christmas Eve but from what others have said it's very difficult to get so I will have to cross everything that we are lucky.

We have also been thinking about the cruise. On Nassau day we think we may make our own way over to Atlantis and do the Discover Atlantis tour, it works out cheaper to do it this way rather than book it as an excursion through Disney. Then we'll get back to the boat by lunchtime in order to eat lunch onboard and enjoy the boat in the afternoon.

How are everyone else's plans coming along?

I agree. Kids can be so cruel. I hope he have a great time on this cruise and this vacation. :sad2:

I kind of read about it, but not quite sure what is it and how involved it is. If able, I would love to do it, but I need to find out exactly what is involved before committing to it and letting others down. :confused3

No problem, there is plenty of time before we need to decide. :goodvibes

Looking through the main cruise board, some people seem to spend quite a few $$ on buying/making their fish extenders whilst others prefer to hang a door hanger/bag that they may already have at home.

I think the emphasis is on the gifts being both inexpensive and fun ~ small little items that won't take up much space. Some of the things that I have seen others mention giving/receiving are candy, stickers, tattoos, beads, glowsticks, pencils, fridge magnets, notebooks, bookmarks, anything that may represent your home town/area.

Hope this helps. :)

Planning!!! That's a bit of a sore point for me. I booked the holiday 20 months in advance but that's about as far as I've got. We know roughly what sort of things we are going to do but we leave the day to day planning until we get there and just go with the flow. I think we ought to be a bit more organised this year, especially for the cruise, and we hope to chill out during the Christmas week instead of joining the masses in the big parks.
At least the tickers are counting down nicely now, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since ours was saying 1 year and 8 months to go!!

Anybody going to Atlantis Aquadventure Park? We just booked our room at Comfort Suites for $253.00 taxes included! This will save us nearly $400 in the Park tickets:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Charleyann:santa:

Wow, what a great saving. Just think what pleasure you'll have being able to spend that money on something else! :thumbsup2

We're planning on going to Atlantis in the morning but not for the aqua park, just to look round the dig, then be back on the Wonder by lunchtime. Even that is cheaper to do by ourselves than with DCL. Their Discover Atlantis tour is $52 each ($52 x 5 = $260) whereas if we make our own way there and buy tickets when we get there it should cost us $4 each one way for a taxi/water taxi, and $35 for tickets making a total of $215. Not such a big saving as you but it all helps. :goodvibes

I read in the Birnbaum guide that if you're on the DCL excursion you wouldn't be able to leave Atlantis until after lunch unless you made your own way back at extra expense so that was also a deciding factor.

Grrrrrr!!! :headache:

My MVMCP tickets arrived but they are for the wrong date.

The lady I dealt with on the telephone even confirmed the 18th to me yet they are for the 17th. We are able to go on the 17th as we arrive on the 16th, however we thought we may be a bit tired seeing as it was our first day. I have written to Disney to ask if the tickets can be changed to the 18th, if not then we'll just go on the 17th after all.

I'm very glad I paid for them to be sent to me and didn't arrange for them to be Will Call..........

We were planning to go to MVMCP on the 17th. That is the day we fly in, but my dd's b-day is the 18th and we are doing the Candlelight Processional dinner package on the 19th. So much we want to do, and so little time!!

Well, yesterday it was 7 months until we fly to Florida! :cool1:

Today it is 7 months until you go to MVMCP, ShastaDog, and that is the day we will also be going unless WDW change our tickets. :santa: I am still waiting for a reply.

We are also planning on doing the Candlelight Processional dining package, we are hoping for the 24th but are thinking of the 23rd if we aren't lucky enough to get our first choice.

I know it's wrong to wish time away but I can't wait for next December! :yay:

Did any of you add dining into the land portion of the cruise? If so how much is it? Does Disneu ever give free dining to cruises?
