December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

Kathy, That is so funny we were both eyeing the same sweatshirt but missed out on it. Lesson learned I guess. Sounds like you guys had a fun day. I would like to get out to Kennedy Space Center one day. Glad you didn't get any rain. We just hung around the house, got some chores done, and prepped things for a neighborhood Halloween party tomorrow. Fun, fun. I'd love to see your door signs. We didn't make any for our Wonder cruise. But I think we will this time. :)

Stephanie, We are early seating. You're right, it really doesn't make sense being from CA time, does it? But we like it that way too. :)

We're about to head off to a neighbors house and carve pumpkins with some of my kids friends.

Stephanie,
We have early dining too. Just two of us, so we may be put at a table for 4 too. You never know.

If anyone does go to the space center, allow an entire day, you cant really see it all in a day either, but you can do most of it. It really saves time to do the bus tour first, then you should be back to the main part of KSC by lunch. Then continue there. It just seems to go faster that way. The bus tour part will take 2 to 3 hours, depending on your speed of looking at things.
If you have AAA you can get a discount, but not at the space center itself, you must buy the ticket at your AAA office. I got caught on that. Most places you can just show your card and get your discount, but not there.
Just a tip.

We'll it's off to Epcot with mom in law for the afternoon. The Wine and Foos festival is going right now.

How fun just to be able to head off to Epcot for a day. Must been nice living so close.

We've all been quiet the past few days. I know we've been busy here. I'm heading up the Operation Christmas Child project (people fill shoeboxes with toys, goodies, and suplies for a kid in need to open on Christmas) for our church which has been keeping my free time filled and our calendar has been filled with all sorts of Halloween/fall festivities, between the schools and neighbors, and the community. So its been busy, but a good busy. :sunny: Tomorrow is my ds school Halloween party. He's gonna be Captain Jack Sparrow (I so hope the costume will still fit for Pirates in Caribbean night!!). My dd doesn't get to dress up at school (they are having their Halloween party at a pumpkin patch and are wearing pumpkin shirts they made) but for Halloween night she is going as Ariel, the Little Mermaid... with the fin (very important you know, she was irate that some Little Mermaid costumes had the gall to have a skirt instead of a fin). So what is everyone else going as?

Tink&squirtsmom,
Wow, you are a busy lady. That brings back memories of when my kids were young. Treasure every minute because they will be grown and on their own before you know what happened!!
With no kids at home I just stay home and hand out candy to the neighbor kids and admire their costumes. I love the little ones who really arn't quite sure what is going on, they are so cute!!
My husband says I dont need to dress up, I'm scary enough as it is!!!
He's just jealous because I have more hair than him, and mine is still brown, not grey. Ha! Ha! I love that.
Have a great halloween everyone, be safe!

Our September trip to WDW was fun. Wishes is fantastic. We saw it several times. We did Soarin 3 times. The sights and smells were amazing. We took my 2 year old nephew with us. Usually he is an "observer" so I wasn't sure how he would react the the characters. He loved them! (all except Rafiki, he was a little scary)

I can't wait to go on our DCL pre-christmas cruise. I'm driving my husband nuts with weekly Magic updates. I've have even booked a Carnival Miracle cruise for next March to help tide me over. It'll be fun to compare the 2 cruiselines. I'm sure they won't even be able to compete when it comes to a sailaway party.

Trolleygirl,
That is a great list. I',m sure as the months roll by it will grow considerably.
Thanks again for keeping track of all of us!!
It sounds like you had a great trip to WDW. I'm glad to hear you really noticed the smells on Soarin. My son was working at Epcot when they were testing it and he was one of the people who rode it over and over and over again until they got the smells just perfect!! He did that for a few hours, then finally they got to do the entire ride. They kept starting and stoping over and over again. I dont think he has rode it since then!! He will be happy to hear someone noticed it.

who else is going in the day before?

We're happy to hear your sister in law is joining us too. By the time the cruise gets here we will really have a lot of people on this thread. Which I think is great!
Sorry we are not coming the day before, since we live right here already, just an hour's drive from home. Although by the time we cruise we will be moved to Leesburg so it will be 2 hour drive instead of one.
Kathy

Hello everybody!!!

I'm just checking in with everybody to see if your still out there??? :confused3
This thread has been pretty quiet for a while now. Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? How about Christmas? Just kidding!
It's only a little over a year and we will be sailing together on the Magic. By the time the holidays are over, it will be less than a year. :cheer2:
I spent my day Christmas shopping. I got some good buys for Veterans day, so that was nice. :goodvibes
Looking forward to hearing from everyone soon, :grouphug:

Still out here. :wave2: Sounds like you had a nice Veteran's Day. I'm slowly working on my Christmas shopping. I have my dd about done but have barely started with my ds. We aren't doing much though, 3 presents each from mom and dad, one from Santa and they can each buy one for the other. Our Dec Disneyland trip is the big gift. The IL's are usually my hardest to shop for and I made them a photobook of our WDW trip and Wonder cruise... I know kind of boring looking at other peoples vacations but I focused on adorable closeups of the kids and left out the "scenery" shots (not that I would mind seeing anyones WDW/DCL pics but I'm so not my IL's, lol).

Anyways, I've just been keeping plenty busy here with volunteer work for my church. Tonight the kids are going to Grammies and dh and I are heading up to Nevada, for some much needed R&R. We are not big gamblers but figure we'll have fun going out to eat, hitting the spa (couples massage!), etc.

Hope everyone else has fun weekend plans!

Still here and dreaming of our fun 12 months and two weeks from now - heheeh -

all Holiday shopping done - complete - just need to wrap it all - can you imagine - but I am the type that starts the day after thanksgiving and goes from there...speaking of Tday - MY family tday is here at my home tomorrow- and for the official it will be done at my Inlaws. I will prepare the dinner there - since inlaws are not overly healthy now....

xmas this year is in Mass. - sister will drive from DC and Brother will come from the next town over ( hehehe ) and all stay with us at a Condo we have rented -

Can't wait till our cruise though!!!

well I am off to the airport to pick up sister and family to celebrate TDAY part 1....

Lisa

~! enjoy your freedom - thank a Vet !~

Still here also. We have not even begun Christmas shopping yet...Dh is out of state 8 months of the year, we usually start the first of Dec after he gets home. Personally I hate shopping for Christmas although it is my favorite holiday.
I have Been busy w/ cub scouts. We are going to FW this weekend with the Cub Scouts, but leaving Sat night to head to Homestead Fl for the last Nextel race of the year.
DD, DS and I went to Epcot last month for the food and wine fest. We had never been during this event before. That was pretty nice although the night we went it was very busy.

Been watching the travel channel where they have been talking about cruises. Just makes the wait even harder... ;)

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. I don't get on line often. So in advance have a safe and blessed Christmas...

Michele

Howdy,
We just got back from Magic Kingdom where we met Feenie and her husband and Godson, who is enjoying his first trip to WDW. They are really nice people and can't wait to see them again on the cruise. Just a little over a year form now we will all be sailing together. Looking forward to meeting all of you soon,

Hello,
I hope everyone had a good holiday. I have 3 gifts to buy and I'm done with my Christmas shopping. I finished last week. And they are all wrapped and my christmas cards are all made out and ready to go. I have made 3 types of cookies and have them in the freezer for when company arrives next month.
I do have a few last minute things to do for our cruise next month, but basically I'm done with that too.
Did anyone brave the crowds for those great buys this weekend??? Not me, I stay in this weekend. i'm not a crowd type of person, but i did see some good buys in the paper.
have a good one everybody.
Kathy
