December 19, 2010 - Disney Wonder - 4 Night Bahamas

This will be my family's first cruise!!! We are super excited, just wish it wasn't so far away!!!!

You will love it! I'm jealous of your cat 3. We've never done concierge before. We always seem to be trying to squeeze in as many days as possible as cheap as we can. I'm still patiently waiting for the 2011 info . . .

Naw, don't be jealous. We are probably making a mistake, because then I will be spoiled and expect it every time. But with a family of 5, I think I would feel crowded in even a cat 4. And I am claustrophobic, so adjoining inside rooms aren't really an option. Maybe, though, if I love the cruise and want to do it often. We'll see

I've never stayed in an interior room either - feel like I need to see some daylight. At some point, you could always try 2 connecting cat 9's. Then you could have lots of space and have 2 huge windows. Ah, but concierge service and that huge balcony will be quite nice!! Enjoy!

Thanks for the link Jodie. We have one of those staterooms...the wider but shallower ones. It looks pretty roomy, and that balcony does look fabulous!!!! I could probably sit out there all day and not visit anywhere else on the ship, esp. with free room service. I have a feeling 4 nights won't be long enough.

I had subscribed to this thread, but never got an message that you had replied. And I can't find where to look for my subscriptions...still trying to get my bearings here! Edit: (I found it)

Hey Jodie! You guys still in with us on this cruise or do you think you will change to a 2011 one once they come out?

It depends on the itinerary. There are rumors of both Hawaii and Alaska. We've been to Hawaii. We loved it, but I think of Hawaii as a land based trip - not sure I want to cruise there. If the ship goes to Alaska, however, I don't think I can turn that down. Apparently the news will be released on Friday - should be interesting!!

I don't always get notified of responses either - not sure why.

Even if you were sleeping in a broom closet, 4 days wouldn't feel like long enough! The longest cruise we've done was 11 nights. Usually I'm ready to go home after vacationing for that long, but I didn't want to get off the ship! Its probably better to start with a shorter cruise and progress to longer ones. Once you've done a long one, the 3 and 4 nighters seem short.

My dream cruise is the 15 night Panama Canal - DCL has only run this as a repo cruise, during a time when my kids are in school. Would love to do that one.

Yeah, I am a Disney Travel Planner and I got an e-mail about there being a special announcement on Friday morning about some new fairytale destinations...I am wondering if they would send the Wonder to Hawaii/Alaska in 2011 once the new ship is ready...

That seems to be the current speculation. The Wonder should do the Mex Riviera most of the year - then re-route to Alaska during the summer - or Hawaii at some point. I guess we'll find out Friday!

So, I transferred my res on this cruise to the July 5th Alaska cruise today. I wanted to get those tier 1 prices while they last, and holy cow, they have raised deposits! I was able to get a 50% deposit on the Alaska trip since I had a 50% on this one. Otherwise, we would have had to pay a whopping $600 per person for a trip almost 2 years out!! Crazy!

I'm cruising this Thanksgiving, and I will probably rebook this cruise if prices don't go up by then.

Well Jodie! I was afraid we were going to lose you! :( Have fun on your Alaska trip! :) It was good getting to talk with you on here!!

Hi everybody!
We are counting down to this cruise too! My DH and I will be bringing our DD17 and our DS14! We're booked in a cat 11. I wish they'd make cat 12's available for Dec 2010 soon... A Cat 12 gty would make this an even better deal - for a christmas week cruise!
Can't wait to meet everyone!:cool1:

Hey all!! We are booked on this cruise for next year!!! We just did the 3 night cruise a few weeks ago...and it was so much fun. I guess that I can get into gear for this one! It will be me and hubby and my two kiddos. My daughter will be 7 and my son 4.

Later,
Daisy

Family of 9 now booked on this cruise. It will be my parents, DW and DD, 1.5, and my sister and her family, hubby and two kids DS and DD, 8 and 5.

This will be my second 4 Day Disney, but first with our DD. It will be my sisters family first cruise and my parents first Disney cruise. Should be a great experience and a good kick off to the Christmas Holiday.

Just finished booking this cruise for DH and myself. :santa: It will be DH's first Disney cruise (I am taking my first Disney cruise with a dear friend on 2/20/10). We will stay 4 nts at Bay Lake Towers after the cruise to celebrate Christmas at WDW! :cool1:
