My last post of the night! Since I'm not big on sewing I was thinking of other options on how to do a FE and came up with my version - let me know if you think it will work. Since it's Christmas time I was originally thinking about hooking a couple of stockings together but sometimes they aren't very wide and might be too long. So I was in Dollar General today and found 2 felt "bags" about 8" x 8" with handles. One has a Santa face on it and the other has a teddy bear reindeer. They are really cute and I thought since we're going to (dare I say another resort?!) Universal on Christmas eve we can use our DD's bag for her stocking (she still believes!) I read of a few different FE's on that thread so thought I could improvise - I could go back to the drawing board if needed. Thanks!

I told my kids that there was going to be another child who was adopted. They are really looking forward to meeting her!

That will be a good ice breaker for them to have something in common! And for the parents too - I'm always interested in the adoption stories (being an adoptee myself!) How old is your daughter?

Well, I've got some simple ideas for the FE exchange. Not enough time for anything too elaborate. The fun is in the surprise anyhow!
And I started Christmas shopping today. We told the kids we are taking a cruise for Christmas so they are not going to get as many gifts. Now if I can make myself hold back. I lOVE Christmas!!!!

I have a couple of things my DD & I are going to work on over Thanksgiving vacation and then the others will probably be "store bought" but as you say - it's the surprise that counts! We told our daughter too that the cruise was our gift but since she still believes Santa comes we have to still do his gifts - trying to keep things under control tho!

My daughter is 12 and my son is 8, almost 9. They have been with us almost 8 months.

We got ours too. My DH is counting down the days with his count down app. He is as excited as our kids and grandkids.

DW planted seeds in DS for going on the Mickey Boat. Last time for the Double Dip, he said (literally): "We already did that!" And didn't care, right in front of our friends that were going, too. The other mom was bummed, while the rest of us laughed.

Last night, he was a little more interested. At least he said that like the slide and kids club.

Still haven't figured out, when we are going to tell the kids.

I spent about an hour in Michael's today and came away with about a dozen ideas for things to do for the FE exchange! Anxious to find out how many others are joining so I can decide what to do - guess I'll start with some of the easier ones that will be quick to make more of if needed. Since there aren't that many posts on this meet does that mean the ship won't be very crowded?! Or just that people aren't joining the meet?

We are excited about the cruise. I will be going to JoAnns to get material to start making FEs for DD and her family. Although my DH and I already have one I want to make us another one in Christmas colors to match theirs. Ordered some iron on Disney appliqués to put on them. Wish we had more families participating in it but not many people seem to be on this board.

I would love to see your FE when it's done! And I wish there were more people participating too since it's our first one - but perhaps with just a few of us it will make it more special!

Would be glad to coordinate but would like everyone to send their request by December 3rd. This would give people time to get secret Mickey items.
