December 17, 2006 4-Night Wonder Cruise

TammyAlphabet,

Hmm...you seem familiar as well...just cant place you..oh yeah, im remembering you from the same cruise that we'll both be on in Dec!!!

yayayayayayayay :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey, it's great to see some action on this thread!
I was gone all last week for spring break (too) and feel out of touch.

Dr. Bahmanziari--Huge congrats on such a momentous accomplishment! :cheer2: :cool1: :thumbsup2
Based on the number of posts you have to date, and that you are so enthusiastic about Disney, you don't seem to fit the "accountant" mold! (in otherwords---you have a personality!?!?)
About feeling like a lump---my advice: Try out Jazzercise! I am training to become a certified instructor and should be teaching by the end of May. I am hoping it will help some of my own "lumpiness!"

yamata45-- Welcome to the thread! Have you cruised before? DCL before?

Now that we are back from our spring break trip to a rather wet/rainy Hawaii, we are all the more looking forward to Florida and the cruise to the Bahamas! Sure hope it is sunny and warm for us!

Marcy

Thanks for the congrats Marcy!!! I am really glad to have made it this far!

Yamata45 is my brother, I got him to sign up for the thread.

I am glad to see you back. I need some serious Jazzercise!!! I am a big lump.

I even got a job offer today for the fall!! This is the best week ever!!

We have dropped to the second page, we must get back to top billing!!

I just booked the rooms at WDW for three night before and after the cruise. I got studios at BWV-Boardwalk view!! Now I am waitlisted for one of the nights, but I bet it will come through will all this time.....(fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed?)

I keep thinking I should drive over to the port for the night before the cruise but I want to do as much WDW before the cruise as I can. I think we will fly in on the 14th, use Magical Express to get to the hotel, then use either a limo service or Disney Transfers to the port and back after the cruise. Then Magical Express back to the airport on the last day.

I really don't want to hassle with a rental car, I just want to relax.

Have you guys thought about transportation?

Transportation? We will get a rental car upon arrival (early morning Sunday December 11th)...that is never a problem as Orlando is the BIGGEST rental car market in the country! We are then staying a week at the Horizons by Marriott and going to US/IOA instead of WDW. We bought the super special-deal Universal Studios 5 day (2+3day bonus) tickets where kids are free--all 4 of us for 5 days for $199+tax! We have never been there and my DH is disneyed out anyway---I know, I know, that is not possible...but, unfortunately for him (and ME!) it is! I always thought I'd wait until the kids were bit older to go there, but my DD is ready for all those big rides with me! DH (chicken) and DS (too little) will have fun at all the other stuff.
Right now we have Disney transportation to and from the cruise added onto our booking. I think I may just keep it this way, even though I have heard some really good things about town car services to the port. We will be dropping off our rental car that morning at the airport anyway so will hop on the bus leaving from the Hyatt. That way we are delivered back to the same location after the cruise. I think I will book a day room there since we don't fly out until 6:30pm or so.

Hope you get your Boardwalk rooms! I was really hoping for a DVC property as we traded through II, but settled for the new Marriott one...it looks really nice. We are use to driving around the area, and now that we are not even going to WDW...!!! (part of me will really miss it...)

bye!
Marcy

I have heard some really great things about Horizons. I spent a few days at Universal back in 2004 and we had a great time! You will love it.

I am not the best waitlister in the world and I don't want to move, I hope it comes through at the 7 month mark but I would be surprised if it does. Those go quick and people just love them. Never had one myself but I want to impress my brother with a great view. :thumbsup2

Well, it's official - we're dropping out of the Wonder in December because we're going to go to the Med. in July 2007!!!!!!

The boys don't get out of school until Dec. 20th anyway, so that was becoming an issue for us with the Dec. 2006 cruise.

But y'all will all have a Wonderful time! Keep this thread near the front to pick up more "passengers."

Cindy--- I will miss meeting you!
I am very jealous that you get to do the Med DCL cruise!! Someday I want to cruise there but I am leary of the typical ships that cruise that area as they are filled with smokers (European thing, I guess). To do it in the first class of a Disney ship! WOW!

Well, have fun!

Marcy

I hope you have a great time Cindy! We wish you weren't leaving this sailing but for a chance at a Med cruise, well, I am sure understanding that.

I bet we will have quite a few disers on this cruise before it is all over with. I have no intention of missing this one. I am ready to cruise.

Yoo hoo!!! Marcy!! Are you out there???

Just kidding, we have to do the work to keep this thread alive! Since everyone else has left us. :guilty:

I am looking forward to my F&G Festival trip next month. We leave on the 5/21. We are staying seven nights at BWV and 5 nights at SSR. LOVE that DVC. :rotfl2: This is my graduation trip and my son's eighth grade graduation. (IF he passes the eighth grade  ) If he doesn't, :furious: !! He doesn't like to do his homework and actually lies about it. Imagine that, an eighth grader that lies....

My husband suggested that I leave my son at home with him and just take my daughter on this trip, but I am more worried about what he would be doing while I am gone and my husband is at work than any mixed signals that this trip might provide.

Talk to you guys later.

Hi Tammy and Marcy - It looks like we're back on this cruise! Since WDW is offering free dining again, we canceled our August cruise and booked at the YC.

I never did cancel this cruise, just in case, and now it looks like that was a good decision! In fact, I am thinking of booking the 12/14-17 3-night cruise, so we can do a week. We mainly like just being on the ship, so going to Nassau twice will be OK. Plus, 2 CC stops will be pretty great! I'd also only have to pull the kids out of school for 1 1/2 days.

Have a good week!

I have been sick. But I am getting better. I hope everyone has a nice Easter!!

We will have chocolate bunnies as far as the eyes can see!!!!

Happy Easter to you, too, Tammy. I hope you keep felling better.

Looks like we are on two Christmas-time cruises together (this one and 12-15-07)!

I know Kathy, when I post on one board, I feel like I am cheating on the other board. :teeth: But it is all fun!

I can't wait to hear all about your upcoming cruise. Did you say what the ports of call were going to be?

Talk to you later.

Tammy

Hi Tammy! It's just one port of call - Bermuda - and we will only be there for one day. I guess if we like what we see, we can plan a longer cruise and bring the kids next time. It was an awesome rate, and leaves out of Philadelphia, so no air fare, which is great!

I really feel like DH and I need a getaway vacation just for us. Traveling together was one of our favorite activities when we were dating (for 5 years!) and before kids, so I am really looking forward to this. We haven't gone anywhere alone for since we traveled to a friend's wedding out of state about 5 or 6 years, and that time was the first time!

TTFN!

I really wish I could do that! Take a trip with just my husband. But, we have never done that. I am going to think about figuring out how to make that happen.

I really hope you have a good time.
