reading that I was so glad I wasn't drinking anything! I like Joe Nemechek also, he is from right here in Lakeland. He is actually the very first driver I ever met and boy is he a sweatheart. I was a huge Allison fan Davey and Bobby (that is where DS got his name) from Davey.

Racing isn't like it use to be back in the late 70's or before...But then I was just a kid back then. ya sure can't beat the fight between the Allisons and Cale in Daytona

I'll have to go and read the article on David. that was a pretty good article. I think I may of watched something on the speed channel about David and his mom.

Oh my gosh, Davy was won of my favorites and I remember when the news broke about the crash. There has been a lot of good drivers that lives got cut so short. I was never a huge Earnhardt fan, but his death rattled me and honestly, I couldnt watch another race for awhile after that.

ok I gotta get to bed!!! Kids get flu shots tomorrow and Carrie gets her vaccs they have been putting off since July since she was sick everytime, so it will be a bunch of whiney kids tomorrow. Plus we got SNOW tonight and another 3 inches coming tomorrow! Carrie was so cute, I opened the door to let the dog out, who was like wth is this stuff! and carrie went running out on the deck and said ohhhh its 'no'!

Sorry everyone! As some now know I spent the past week in the hospital after a severe allergic reaction. I just had my initial appointment with the allergist today and I go for testing on Friday...got to get it all out of the way before the cruise! I haven't received my documents yet... I did, however, receive the nice pack with all the cruise information. I know you guys were trying to plan a meet the first day and that sounds like fun. I know I am trying to get us dropped off at the port and then we are going to do some shopping once we get on the ship. I am so excited. I am sure I mentioned this before but I live in Orlando so if anyone needs any brochures from the parks or anything let me know and I will do my best to acquire because I will be going frequently before the cruise. I have been looking forward to seeing Bolt and am waiting to see it on the ship...Has anyone seen a movie on the ship before? Is it crowded? I hope all of you are ok in California! I haven't heard from my friend over in Dana Point recently so I hope she is okay...I don't know exactly where the fires have spread/are in...Shame on me!

We seen Haunted Mansion on the cruise. It wasn't so bad with the crowds. We also seen Pirate 3 several times. The theatre holds alot of people.

I and DW Barb have been to the movies on the ship and unless it is new new, you won't have a problem.. Don't forget to buy your munchies for the movie before you get on the ship ... I seen Ella enchanted and had to go back to my room and get a blanket because it was so cold in there that day.. Last December by the way..The air conditioner works good.

There will be no shopping on the ship until it leaves port...So you have to wait.. But cou can while you wait for the stores to open.. Did you get your room assignment yet???

Well, surgery is set for 8am tomorrow.

Finished my Thanksgiving shopping today, our son is flying in on Sat. from Denver, and him and DD will do dinner this year. I (the Queen) will sit on the sofa & dictate, LOL.

My TA called DCL and they said 14-10 days prior to cruising we will get our docs (kinda late, from what I remember?). Anyway, I guess I have a few more weeks to wait.

Good Luck with your surgery tomorrow Charlie. I haven't got my documents either, but was really excited as our luggage tags came for our transfer to CBR.

Hope no one is in danger of the fires in California, I haven't checked the news lately as to what is happening. Been thinking about you from there.

I know it must have been scary with your reaction, I know I had one once. Am allergic to wasps/bees.

Anyways picked up my magnets after work today, took DS(10) for his pants to be hemmed for the trip.

21 more sleeps until we leave.

Ha! yea...25 days to cruising!
Actually I just counted and it's 18 days until we leave for our week in Florida!

I emailed my DD's teachers to let them know that she'll be gone for the two weeks prior to Christmas break... they are all fine with it, her science teacher even said "your daughter could teach my class, so missing some... not a problem."
Those threads that argue about taking kids out of school for a Disney (or any vacation) drive me crazy! I can't believe some schools or districts put restrictions on such things. I am also glad that my kids do well enough that they won't get behind.
I am a firm believer that travel is an education in itself! Especially to exciting places where there is so much to learn and experience.

Anyway-- it is exciting that we're so close!

Tonight is my little one's parent/teacher conference. So, I will let her know tonight. I don't expect her teacher to have any issues, but we already got grief from DD17's school about her missing 4 days to visit colleges in FL. in October. I can only imagine what they will say about the 5 days she'll miss for the cruise. Actually, the teachers don't have any problems, it's the grumpy secretary in the office!! We have what's called "excused absences" and "unexcused absences". Apparently, vacations fall under "unexcused" and the kids are only allowed to have a certain number per year. Parents calling out a child for being sick is an "excused" absence. I would be afraid to do that, since I would probably jinx her and she'd be sick all cruise!!

The wedding is 19 days
My soon to be sister-in-law misses two to three weeks of school a year to come to visit us here in FL. She could probably teach most of her classes as well! This entire year has just flown by!
