Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I was turning kind of morbid when planning to be honest, like it was going to be the "last" ever trip, it was sad but I never let on to him how I was feeling. I feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders and am now pumped for the trip!!!!

Lucinda that is fine for forml night...Some folks dress to the nines, others just dress simple formal. I plan on just wearing a black knee length dress for formal this year as well....Last time I wore black slacks with a white chenelle (sp?) top. You see in my avatar

I hate dressing up period! I do suck it up for the formal nights though..UNDER PROTEST!! DH just wears a suit and jacket with tie. DS wears a pair of slacks with a button shirt and tie. He always looks so handsome, but he strips them off as soon as he can.

Well I decided not to buy the dress, I have a gorgeous fancy off white dress that I was concerned about wearing since it is after labor day, posted here and everyone was telling me to wear it, that the no white policy is no longer in effect, so I saved myself quite a bit of money doing it this way!

Case hates to dress up and will be in his jeans asap after dinner, he is still not happy I bought him khakis(dockers or whatever they are called) and collared shirts for dinner lol But he has his gaudy hawaiian shirts he plans on wearing too lol

Life has hammered us good and proper, so I haven't been able to "play" here as much as I'd like. I find out my own info on October 13. Please pray.

I'm just checking in to say hello! My DH has posted a bunch already (he's dweitzel) and he's the more techno-literate one in the family. I'm just crossing my fingers that this will end up in the right place! I'm hoping to get more involved here as I figure this out (as well as managing all my other hobbies and obsessions - here's a shout out to all you Twilighters!)

We are all very excited for our cruise. DH goes into planning mode when he's excited, I go into crafty/shopping mode, and our two DD's are just in crazy mode all the time! We're looking forward to getting to know you all and can hardly wait for party time!

Oh, BTW, I've been "Boo'ed" and at some point I'll figure out how to post it!

It is just under 10" if I remember correctly. I used a standard dinner plate as my pattern to make my wreath last time and I just measured it at 10".

I LOVE this dress-having a hard time myself finding something I like that is flattering, the right color, the right length, etc... I am not a makeup wearing, hair combing kind of girl anymore. I don't have time and can't justify the money, but I figure once a year I can sacrifice my feet to the idiot who invented heels and take a nice picture with the family!
OH wait, I'm sure the offwhite one is beautiful too (and if it's already in your closet I vote for it!)

I am leaving in 5 minutes to go on a field trip with the 5th grade to Riley's Farm (it is an apple orchard that has commercialized itself into a booming operation complete with colonial re-enactments, all types of apple contraptions and concoctions and a restaurant that has the most wonderful pot pies!)

So...I HATE chaperoning field trips. It is the bane of my existance (poor Mandy had to listen to my rant after the LA County fair trip last month!). I get guilted into these by the kids (yopu went with her class, why can't you come with us!) and I am miserable the entire time. Even with the great pot pies I am dreading riding a bus with 90 LOUD 10 yr olds, spending the day with "that kid" you know the loud obnoxious one who obviously has no rules at home and no respect for anyone, also"that other kid" the one who is quiet and wanders away everytime you start to enjoy yourself...
Why do I torture myself like this?

Andrea, I remember I went on a field trip with DS in Kindergarten to the Aquarium...I chaperoned 2 children I haven't did it since.
The problem here is that parents CANNOT ride the bus, we have to follow behind in our own car. Your child is NOT allowed to ride with you either, NOT even when you are leaving wherever you went. I just don't have the patience.
