December 13, 2008 Western Caribbean!! Let's get acquainted!

Andrea,
I like the PIP's too! It is catchy and apparently true.

Well if Mandy is your lurking friend, I guess it is time for her to come out! Mandy your cover has been blown.

Lucinda--you shouldn't be nervous about the upcoming cruise. All you have to do is show up, Disney takes care of the rest.

If a newbie is allowed to comment... I love PIP. Not only does it fit, it allows me to mentally fit in a reference to Lord of the Rings. If anyone can understand second breakfast, elevensies, onesies; it would be this group, right? Pardon me while I set the geek meter to eleven. :goodvibe

This might not be the right place to ask. but all y'all seem like a great resource. I would like to attend Mass at Mary of the Sea at 10:30 in Key West. Is their a good way (trolley?) to get around there?

Two: Our anniversary is 12/18 and I would like to dine at Palo. What night will be pirate night? Does anyone know?

Thanks so much for any and all information.

Katherine

Oh I really like PIPS!! very cute!! Love the logo Andrea!

Michele, I am nervous, it is getting worse by the day! I have never been fond of boats, saw Titanic one too many times and I SO want this to be perfect for my girls, and biggest worry, that we won't "fit" in...sigh.... I was never nervous about WDW but am about this!

Another question for you return cruisers, currently we are in 2614, I noticed that there are now more midship rooms available online, think we should change or keep what we have? Appreciate your inputs!

:wave2: Hi,
I'm going to sound like an old crab and a wise A88 :rotfl2: but here goes..
If you wish to attend mass at Mary of the sea you would be better off flying to Key West, as the ship will not dock until noon or later 1:30pm. :sad1: :sad1: :confused3
Second answer: Pirate night pirate, should be wednesday night when we leave Cozumel, thus leaving your anniversary day/night :bride: (thursday) as a day at sea.

have a nice day (sorry about mass),
gg

Lucinda, don't worry so much! You are not going to stand out unless you are the lady at the pool in a thong :scared1: (there's one on every cruise?). There are so many people from so many backgrounds I can't see how you would look any different than the rest of us and you'll have your PIP's to hang out with, no worries!:thumbsup2

As far as the room, I know you were worried about noise before, but I don't really think that will be a problem. We actually prefer being near the elevator (we're in 2530/2532) which is the equivelent of yours, but on the other end of the ship. We requested those rooms specifically because we liked them so much the first time and being near the elevators made it easier to navigate with kids (anyone have an idea how hard it is to keep 4 kids quiet as they knock each other into the walls and run down the hallways?:scared: )

John,

Thank you so much for the info!!! It never occurred to me that the ship would not be on my time table. The more I learn about this stuff, the more I realize I've got a lot to learn.

Thanks also for the info on Castaway.com. Now I can obsess in a new place over menus. :surfweb:

Katies mom, hello. If you are worried about not fitting in, I invite you to hang out with me and mine. We can all be different together. :dance3:

I'm so happy to find this resource.

This will be fun. :thumbsup2

OMG, lol me in a thong?????:rotfl: :rotfl: I almost choked on my gum! lol No that won't happen. Ok ,I wont worry so much! Guess I will keep my room, I like being close to the elevators!!

Ty Kat- We are lil on the poor side for cruising so I worry about things like that. We won our cruise, and me and Casey are worrying we will look like the Clampetts :rotfl2:

We won our cruise, and me and Casey are worrying we will look like the Clampetts :rotfl2:

The Clampetts? You're not planning on bringing your pitchforks and straw hats are you? Try walking around with four kids and try to fit in! We get the "look" everywhere we go and lots of questions like "are they all yours?". I like to look at the baby in surprise and say "Not that one, where did you come from little girl?"

Funny story the only place that we "fit in" was the airport in utah. I was sitting there with all 4 of my kids (and no husband) waiting for our flight and DD who was 6 at the time said "look mom, there's another family like ours" a few minutes later "look, they have MORE kids than US!" and it went like that for 30 mins before I realized...DUH, we're in Salt Lake City, we are probably a small family here!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh, Kattie's Mommy,

We ARE the Clampetts and I've got the pictures to prove it! One summer, before children, we took a vacation jet skiing/camping at the Colorado River. My DH packed a portable air conditioner for our tent. I laughed so hard at us, but it was 125 degrees that weekend and it saved us. :rotfl2: :wizard:

How old are your DC?

Andrea,

The system wouldn't let me PM you until I have at least ten posts, but thanks for "booing me" brought a smile to my face. :)

Katherine

Katherine where are you? We have a house on the Colorado in AZ is why I'm asking...

I hope everyone got the BOO, I tried to send it to all of you!

Ok, ok.....I am no longer a lurker. Since my cover was blown I am now officially "friendw/boys" aka Mandy. Hello all my fellow cruisers. My family is very excited about our cruise in Dec. and by the way, I am no longer speaking to my once dear friend......Andrea.

Andrea,

I'm in Redondo Beach, CA. :thumbsup2

I stayed off this board for two whole hours, does that mean my obsession is leaving me? :yay: :yay:

Katherine

:wave2: Hi,
I'm having a problem posting this but put both words together with a (castaway club) .com at the end and you should get some good reading about the trip.
have a nice day (sorry about mass),
gg

Gramps, I got an infraction :guilty: for posting this website on another thread today. I don't want you to get in trouble too. You might want to delete the reference to the website.:confused3

OK PIP's I screwed up the Boo thing, rather than sending out all over again I am going to post the img here, then you can cut and paste it into your siggie.
Cut and paste this into your signature http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q113/rivercru/booicon.gif[/IMG]

Remember to add

Andrea thank you for the boo..It only took my 30 min to figure out how to get it into my siggy! LOLWELCOME Mandy! It looks like some nice changes are coming to the Magic before we cruise. I really like the idea of the flat screen tv's. I know I'm such a dork (who watches tv while on a cruise)?I hope they give us comfy comforters, blankets, and pillows. Even though I don't go anywhere without my pillow. Lucinda I don't think you will stick out anymore then anyone else. When looking for DH or myself we will most likely be in racing T's.

I have never been fond of boats, saw Titanic one too many times

A friend of mine was also a little nervous around boats but was talked into a cruise. He mentioned it to the captain who reassure him that they would never be more than 1 mile from land, STRAIGHT DOWN. After that he stayed in his cabin the rest of the cruise.

That probably doesn't make you feel any better, but head over to youtube and look at the cruise ships in the middle of severe storms. These things can weather just about any weather so you have nothing to worry about.

Post Hog Here...

I want to do a magnet exchange too. I will coordinate it if that's what we need to get it going!

It would be kinda neat to do a "Secret Pal" type exchange with Fish Extender Gifts too.

We are in if the group decides to do some sort of exchange. My DW was just talking about getting started on the fish extender.

I'm sure there was talk earlier but has a DIS meet been setup? I haven't posted much but do lurk and wouldn't mind meeting you all on board. I also wouldn't mind putting the kids in touch with other kids around their age so they have friends when we arrive on board.

dweitzel0--We haven't set a meet place yet but I am pretty sure we will before sail time. Our thread just seemed to become active over the last couple of days. I guess everyone is starting to get the fever now that the double digits are getting closer.:cool1:

I haven't started on my fish extender (most likely because I am not much on sewing but I am going to give it a shot). It won't be pretty that is for sure.:rotfl:
