December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

Thanks mine is about 7 inches wide I think its too long. I have extra material and am going to make another and my daughter is going to try too. If its too long I am worried it will touch the floor.

FE--the fish is at shoulder level, so the FE would have to be about 4 1/2 feet long to touch the floor.

I just booked a budget rental for the way home on 12/19. It started at $89, and with the right rental code went down to $32!!! Total with taxes, etc. is $36. I was seriously thinking about using DCL transfers and just looking at prices (we're on a non-participating airline), but this was GOOD!

Hello!!! Hope you don't mind my butting into your thread for a minute...my family was actually booked on this cruise but we ended up moving it a week out.

Anyhow, just wondered if any of you have gotten "the call" from DCL with an offer to upgrade? Or any cabin assignments yet? Those of us on my thread are on the edge of our seats wondering if DCL will offer us an upgrade for a good price or pixie dust us with upgrades. Figured if it's happened to any of you guys it might be our turn soon.

Hope you all are getting as excited as we are on our thread! Can't believe how close it's getting :cool1:

As far as I know, no calls re our cruise although I've been able to document several people sailing the week before us who have gotten upgrade for money calls.

No cabin assignments yet. They normally come out right at 30 days, but this year have been sometimes running a bit early. We're at 49 days now (wow!), and all cabin categories are still showing availability.

Here's what it says in FAQ...

The wall that the fish extender is hung on is roughly 8” wide. If you make your extender much wider, it will stick out into the hallway and/or hit your stateroom door.
The fish to hang your extender from is about 5’3” off the floor. When deciding upon a length for your extender, be sure you keep in mind that you will hang it from the fish, which will add overall length to your extender.

Usually people make a pocket for each person in the cabin it seems like, but you could do just one pocket or a couple. It's all up to you and the design you want.

Thanks that helps I am at 7 inches but teh dowel rod will stick out a bit so I thinik its OK. I dont want one 4 foot long thats a bit over the top. :scared1: Back to the drawing board......

I measured just to help you guys. My pockets are 7 inches deep and there is 1 1/2 inches between pockets. It is 8 inches wide.

If you make 4 pockets, each taking 9 inches (7 for pocket and 2 between), you're at 36 inches...no where near the length you have to work with. Of course, it's hard to use if you have to stoop down to get into it.

Do you know what vehicle you will get?

Mine isn't that long either, but some people want it to be that long I suppose.

Anyone else want to post their FE's that are done to give our new friends the ideas they're looking for? Here's mine:

Okay, this one looks really long. I could actually measure it, but that would mean getting up and leaving the computer. :scared1: I think I did it one for each kid. However, most people leave it in the upper two pockets.

Cute door decorations! I really need to get some magnets made this time around.

Still working on fish extenders we have to make two for two cabins.
When done I will post them. We ended up with a lot of fabric left over. They are turning out good I am having trouble deciding which graphics a to put on them.

Do you know what vehicle you will get?

We booked an economy because there are only 2 of us. However, a "full sized 2 or 4 door" was only $3 more. They gave some examples of the car, but I don't remember them. Reality--we typically get a free upgrade because they need to have a larger vehicle ferried out or back. Not a lot of people book the smaller cars, I guess. Also, if you have an upgrade coupon (newspaper, on line, various magazines, etc) you can present it at the counter and will be upgraded if available. It's always available at MCO, vehicles at the port are limited.

If my experience is correct, they should start "working" our cruise this week as far as room assignments...trying to sell us paid upgrades, etc. Assignments will start as soon as they finish that! People on the cruise the week before us have been posting their cabin assignments (were cat 12 gtys).....

Thanks! I hope lots of you get calls for paid upgrades this week!!! How exciting that you are only (possibly) 2 days away from having stateroom assignments :) Our group is soooo anxious to get ours too and know if we will be among the lucky ones to get "the call"!!!

KC, you are so on top of it!!!

Thanks for the info. Do you think it will take them the entire week? Or....by any chance we'll start to have rooms #'s trickling in by the end of the week?

Hey, I was just wondering. Because so many of us will by Cat. 12 gty, and assignments could change right up until we sail...... Any suggestions about how we can keep track of the room number changes?

If we all have our base list with us, maybe at the cruise meet, we can announce those that have changed? And our fearless FE leader, maybe have a copy kept in your FE so that we can run by if need be to see where everyone is? (label it to be kept there...LOL)

Just a thought....:confused3

On the last cruise I was on room number changes were announced at the meet.
I have a question are we going to use some outstanding identification marker to recognize each other at port? We have used those Mardi Gras beads that people give away at festivals.
Any ideas?

The trip is so close I think we are seeing Mickey everywhere (went hiking yesterday and found him in the rock)

Aloha, We booked this cruise a month ago. We originally had a cat 9 for four --and Disney called me almost a week and half ago and offered me a cat 6 for 300 dollars more. I jumped on it.

So I'm sure it's starting to trickle down.:cool1:

We are a family of 4- DH- Me and DS 6 and DS 15 months at time of sailing. First Disney cruise but have cruised other lines before. Will continue this trip with a trip to Disney World right after the cruise. :yay:

I'm so looking forward to this new experience because I have never done anything Disney before at all.
