December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

Hey everyone, I'm bevtoy's daughter. I'm 19(and will still me at time of cruising), just thought I would stop in and say "hi" to everyone and maybe get the thread going again? Also, if a name hasn't been settled on, how about something like "A MAGICal journey to neverland"? ;)

I've had a very busy past couple of weeks. I graduate on Thursday and then I'm having a party on Friday. After that, all will be calm and quite with my life. :cool1: I'm actually fighting a nast cold at the moment also. The weather is not playing nice with me.

I noticed the board has gotten very quite. I'm alittle nervous with this whole swine flu thing. My mother says if they switch out trip to Nassau instead of mexico, my sister and I will be switching dates. I hope everything stays and the swine flu dies down.

Welcome to the thread to everyone who is new. :hippie:

I'll try and update a few things, add some cool stuff to the site. I sent out more invites. If someone has not been added, message me, Bev, or Scooby and we'll send you an invite.

soccerfreak_08 :) I think we should get the thread rolling again too. I like the name. I'll add it to the poll on the website. We need a few more though, that way people have plenty to pick from.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

If no one else wants to or has spoken for organizing the fish extender list I will volunteer. Anyone can PM me and I will start working on the list. We need cabin numbers names and ages. Of course adults don't have to give an age just adult will be fine.
So lets get this party started.

That sounds great! I want to play but wont know my cabin number till we board.

Well, looks lke we'll be joining the group. Our first 7 day!!

Welcome to the group! You wont regret the 7 day cruise! I sent an invitation to join the off site group.

I know this isn't technically the right forum, but I'm being lazy.

Has anyone heard if DCL is still going to Cozumel, if not, where are they going?

For those who are interested here's how to play:
Buy inexpensive gifts for each stateroom who volunteers to play and randomly deliver them to their rooms over the length of the cruise. We use little gift bags with handles and hang them from the fish by the stateroom door or place them in their fish extender if they have one. A example of gifts might be many small items similar to party bag for a kids party, I have received miniature(1 ounce) liquor bottles, goo goo clusters. One player gave us CD's he made with party music for cruising on it. One lady gave us lovely miniature fans and candy from her homeland of Japan! It is so fun to get the different gifts and give them too! One person will keep track of all those who wish to play and print out sheets with their stateroom numbers on them. We will meet after the cruise starts and pass out the sheets so we will know the room numbers to deliver too. You start with the name right underneath yours on the list and work your way back around to yourself. This "scrambles" the date and time of gift giving and all gifts should be delivered by teh final night of the cruise. WOW! Is that confusing enough? LOL Hope someone will correct me if I am mistaken.

So this is over and above regular FE gifts right? And you are only giving to one stateroom?

Leaving FE gifts is called DISer tag and the gifts are left at the fish or in the extender if one is by the door. I suppose you could leave more than one if you want, the time I played we just left one gift bag per stateroom. It gets a bit complicated if you try to take a gift per person, especially for those flying who have limited room in their baggage.

I wonder if anyone else played this differently on their cruise.

:cheer2:Good morning. I am really new to post information but anxious to get involved with exchanging items in the fish extenders. My youngest daughter and I went on the Magic Western Carr. cruise in May and booked two more cruises moving forward. Can't wait to go again. How do I get on the list? I am still learning how to use this site. We are booked on the 12/12/09 and the Western Atlantic in Sept. 2010. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. We reside in Florida and if anyone needs any assitance with anything on a local basis before the cruise, just let me know.:hippie:
Thank you,
Karen

Seems like I am organizing this just PM me your information. Cabin number, names, ages of children. We took the PodCast cruise last month and booked this while on board. Already had it booked but cancelled and rebooked to bet OBC. This is our first 7 night. I'll post a prelimary list toward the end of summer.

Welcome Aboard!

My family wants to participate but we wont have our cabin numbers until after we board for the cruise. How can we participate?

Karen,

Welcome Welcome!!!! :lovestruc

I have a local question for you. Do Florida residents get a better deal on DW passes like CA residents do for DL?

Good evening. Yes, you are correct, Florida residents do get a better discount on the passes. It just makes sense to go ahead and buy the passes for everyone in the family at the begining of each year. I live about 45 minutes away from the parks so there are times we just go over to EPCOT some evenings just to have dinner.

There are also some great deals for Florida residents on the cruises - the closer it gets to sailing - in the event it is not booked as full as they need it to be. I just hate to wait until the last minute if there is a date we really want to book. :yay: I can't wait for this next cruise.

Karen,

What about one time passes, like 3 or 4 day passes? We are going to surprise our kids and go for a few days after the cruise. I'm still trying to identify the cheapest way to do it.

Hi - I will check out the prices and special deals today and get back to you tonight - will it be anyone's birthday in the family during those few days?

Unfortunately nobody's birthday falls in that week. So, no free birthday entrance for us.
