December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

Glad you both are coming. There are many moms and daughters on this cruise I think. My mom is coming. If you meet Marge from North Dakota, smile and say hi.

I just told my DD that I am joining her on this cruise. She was going to go by herself. I'm not sure if she's happy that I'm going or not. lol

Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who was so nice, encouraging and helpful to her and for those who invited her to join your family etc etc. I hope to meet all of you. I haven't been on here since I'm been running to the hospital to see my mom who is now in rehab. Boy, I can't wait to get on the ship and order the drink of the day, usually Bahama Mama, in the big Disney souvenir glass and watch my stress just slip away and stay home.

We are flying out tomorrow morning and will be spending tomorrow afternoon at Downtown Disney. If anyone will be in the area tomorrow, would love to meet you and maybe do lunch or dinner. My cell is 215-219-5400. Call me.

Again, looking forward to meeting everyone.

Bev

Still have packed nothing except FE gifts. Still have to-do list a mile long. Still have a birthday party to attend Fri nite (for which I still have no gift to bring). DH still irritated at my anxiety and snappishness and still insisting that it's no big deal, we just have to "throw some clothes in a bag and go." Beginning to feel the first stirrings of full-blown panic, esp since most of you have already left! :lmao:

Despite all, made time for mani and pedi today.... soooo relaxing!

Let's go have some fun! :goodvibes

Until his underwear isn't packed, that'll show him :lmao::lmao: Kidding of course.

Between 7:30 am and 12:30 am I covered a lot of ground. I woke up to less stress and more nervousness. It seems like I'm already forgetting something.:scared1:

In the AM hours, went to: Chiropractor, sprint store, costco, sams club, back to Costco, delivered lunch to a customer, kohls, starbucks & walmart. Home now to do final cleaning, dd off to piano, dog to boarding kennel, bird being taken to friends (30 miles one way), and, oh....DS coming back from college - I'm sure the laundry will start all over again. :laundy:

Our flight time is exactly the same as yours! We are flying Air Tran out of St Louis

Our flight is tomorrow morning at 7 am and we arrive at Orlando at 4 with one stop in Atlanta. Since we have to be really early at airport (5 am) we are sleeping tonight there, so we are at 6 hours to leave home and 21 hour before flight.

Friday we'll be at the Poly and will be going to the Disney Village

Conferming 3 pm Promenade.

As of now I start wishing you all a SAFE TRIP and remember, the Disney Magic Vacation begins the moment you step out of your home.

(Well it actually begins the moment you booked and started to post here since this DisBoard has been so much fun)

Disney's terminal is "A", we couldn't find it on a sign last time either. MAybe its been corrected!

12 hours and counting till our flight!

Hi everyone! I am popping in from another message board. I had never heard of Disboards before a friend told me about this place, it seems great though! I love Disney! We are on another cruiseline and leave in 4 days, and we will be in Cozumel at the same time. Hope you don't mind me peeking in!

If you have nothing to do in Cozumel, please consider joining our excursion! I have heard wonderful things about it, but they won't go out with less than 4-6 people, and it maxes out at 16 (it's just the boyfriend and me this cruise). So it is very personal! It is the trimaran Tucan sailing adventure and includes sailing, snorkeling, fishing, lunch, a beach stop, and spinnaker rides. I'm too new to post a link, but you can find it by searcing for Cozumel Tucan Sailing. It sounds like a blast if anyone is interested! They also offer half price rates for kids under 12.

Have a great cruise everyone! I hope to be on the new Disney ship as soon as she's out and about!

Spent a busy day here in Orlando. Hit a few stores including the Disney Outlet at the Prime Outlets. It was a bit rainy but great weather for us. We all had on our flip flops. Can't wait to see everyone Saturday. Safe travels to everyone.

Hi, just booked this cruise for me, dd8 and dd6, ds6 (twins turning 7 on Sunday).

I know it's too late to join the group activities but hoping to meet some fellow DIS board members onboard and hopefully see some we have cruised with before :)

When booking they offered cat 4 and cat 5 but we said no, needed something cheap (too much cruising this year). They called back and said they had a cat 9 Florida rate. Booked it and they assigned a Cat 6 room. Love free upgrades.

Wishing everyone who hasn't left safe travels, have a wonderful Friday and hope to see you all onboard!

Just listened to a voice mail left on my cell phone yesterday from Disney Cruise line -- we've been upgraded from a Cat 8 to a Cat 5. I'm SO thrilled!

We're driving to Disney tomorrow afternoon to enjoy the lights at Hollywood Studios (we have annual passes). We'll stay the night near WDW, then head to the port in the morning. I can't believe it's almost time to set sail :goodvibes

Congrats! I'm a bit jealous though!

Sorry for more newbie questions; I've gotten confused again!

Packaged snacks... allowed or not allowed? Bring, or don't bring? My "Setting Sail" book says: "Coolers with personal items such as soda or snacks may not be brought onboard. (There's no need to lug that stuff with you anyway, since complimentary sodas and food are available on deck day and night.)"

I was packing some sealed-in-orignal-packaging pop-tarts, granola bars and gummies. My thinking was it would be nice to have these on hand if the kids got the munchies and we didn't want to hunt. Also, I thought I could bring a few on the excursions in case only local food is avail and I'm not feeling comfortable with food safety. I was going to put these boxes in a checked suitcase. Is this allowed? Is it a waste of space? Can I really just get food anytime I want? Could I pack a few items for a picnic lunch on the island? Confused!!!! :confused3 Thanks in advance for any feedback.... if anyone is even still at home and reading the board! :rotfl2:

we took packaged snacks on both of our previous cruises...but I didn't have just one bag full of the stuff.

Have been without internet for a week and you fill up 30 pages. The weather at DW has been crazy. Downpour one day - and sunny enough the next for the pool. But in some ways I love the rain - it keeps the crowds away and you can do so much. We have had a great trip so far. Starting to worry a little - should have brought more empty space in the suitcases. How to get everything home - oh well - there is always UPS.
Good luck to all of you who have last minute packing to do - see you on the boat in a few days.
