December 11, 2011 Mexican Riveria

Marlea, we could hear the PA system from the party, and the cruise director on todays cruise is Australian.

I am telling everyone if you are not feeling well go to the doctors now while you can still get medicine and get rid of any nasty germs. We are finally on the mend (hopefully). Jackson has new meds and seems to be responding, Heather is going tomorrow and if I am not completely well by thursday I will be visiting my doc again. Also will get my seasick meds prescription from him this week.
We finished decorating outside today the inside will probably take the rest of the week. Has to be done by friday as next week is devoted to getting ready for the cruise.

so glad you got to see the ship - what a beautiful day- we should be so lucky.

Just tonight started feeling like I might be getting a sinus infection. I will give it until Tuesday to decide whether to go to the doctor. Reminds me to pick up some amoxicillin while in PV. Might come in handy this winter while I am without insurance so I don't have to pay $200 for a doctor to give me a piece of paper that allows me to buy $10 worth of medicine.

I had no clue you could buy amoxicillin. How much do they charge?

I am going to get the last of the FE stuff tomorrow, Hair cuts this week for the whole family, legs waxed this weekend so i'll be silky and smooth. Next week i'll start to pack!

I have already started having dreams about this cruise. Not good ones more stress ones.:scared1:

Is there a separate cost for the tea and/or the gingetbread activities?

Tea with Alice (or whoever/whichever characters they are using) is free, you just need to pick up tickets at Guest Services as soon as you board. Seating is limited and they don't always have it on every cruise.

Don't know abut the gingerbread stuff, this is our first Christmas-time cruise.

:cutie:

Has anyone called recently to see what movies will be playing?!

I'm hoping they'll be showing The Muppets, so we won't have to go pay to watch it.

Does anyone have the phone number to call? I remember seeing it on another thread, but can't remember which one.

That should be fun if he has the typical Australian sense of humour!

$200 to see a doctor???? That is so expensive. We have free health care here regardless of how much you earn. You can choose to see a doctor who can bulk-bill you (which means you sign a form and the doctor gets paid a set amount by the Government) or you can see a 'private' doctor who charges their own rate and you take the payment receipt to Medicare and get a set amount back. We also have private health insurance which is more for hospital etc. We have free hospitals as well but there are long waiting lists for certain types of admissions. Again, anyone has access to it. Then again, we pay high taxes here and almost everyone contributes to tax (unless you earn under a set amount or are mega rich and have creative accountants).

We leave tomorrow morning and we are pretty much ready to go. Except it's started raining this morning and hubby has just had a truck load of dirt delivered to fill in low spots in our yard :confused3

See you all soon. :cheer2::yay::woohoo::cool1::banana:pirate:

Heather just talked to two different sets of friends who were on the thanksgiving cruise. Both said it was hot and humid in Mexico - sun very strong - suggested we bring hats. Both had a wonderful time.

I've always brought my hat along. I would point out, if you plan on wearing the hat on deck, it should be able to be tied on.

It was pretty hot and humid in October, when we were there. I think it was something like 98 degrees and 98% humity in Cabo. I took a picture of the sign on the side of the tour bus that showed that it was air-conditioned!

I have added your name to the FE list.

Welcome aboard! The cutoff date for FE additions was 11/11/11 due to some of our members leaving early for travel before the cruise. I think that most of us still watching are trying to keep up and manually add to our gifties. I will add your name to my list personally and please watch here for responses from our other members.

Again, glad you will be sailing with us!

Some of us will be able to add a few more people to their list. Some of us won't be able to. I usually try to include all the kids that manage to get their names on the list, sometimes I'm not able to cover everyone.

I would say that the possiblity of getting SOMETHING in your FE is good.

The 10 day forecast for Cabo shows that it will have highs in the high 70s and low 80s and lows in the high 50s and low 60s. I guess whether that is warm or cool depends on where people are coming from! I've heard the sun is strong and to wear sunscreen even when it looks overcast in the morning there. From other mexican cruise threads, I've read that it is pretty much chilly every night at sea.

Good tip about hats being tied on - esp for my one year old that would happily throw her hat overboard! I will be sure to take her little sunhats with ties this trip!
