we are in Santa Clarita so we tend to be warmer than the water areas. for out of towners just remember if you are going to DL before the cruise . days are usually lovely perhaps just a sweater-layers are great BUT at night it really gets cold for the fireworks. dress accordingly as you don't want to get sick before the cruise.

The only thing my family wants to do off the ship is go to a beach. Any suggestions? What port do you think would be better?

PV has better beaches than cabo. and easier to get to.

Do you remember any names of beaches? If we just got off the ship and asked a taxi to take us to "blank" beach do you think that would work? Also there is 5 of us do you know if there have taxis that will fit all of us with seat belts?

I don't know the name of it, but there's a beach within walking distance of the ship in Puerto Vallarta. My DD & her BF went there after our morning tour of the city.

How long of a flight is it?

It is over 15 hours. We leave here at 6am (on the plane but leave home just after 4am) then it's 1hr and 45min flight to Brisbane (arrive 7.45am) then leave Brisbane 11am and it's a 13hr 15min flight to L.A. With the time difference etc, we arrive 15mins after we first depart On the way home we arrive two days after we leave - that took some explaining to the kids! It's gonna be a long flight with the two kids - hubby likes an aisle seat so I'll be stuck with the kids on one side of the plane and he'll be on the opposite row pretending he's on his own. I won't allow the kids to sit next to a stranger on a plane.

It is 7.56pm on Thursday night here and according to the Mac's clock it is 3am in L.A. Sleep well all.

you've probably said it but I don't remember - where are you flying into first.

We fly into L.A.X. Hopefully I won't get lost on the way out of the terminal (I have a poor record when it comes to following directions )

For the out of towners winter has arrived. We are down to 60's and 70's but very cool at night.

I have just converted that to celcius - according to my Mac's dashboard L.A has a low of 10 celcius (50 F) and top of 19 C (67 F). Tomorrow, where I live, we have a top of 28 C (82 F) and low of 22 C (72 F). I complain if it gets to low 20's during the day here, but I'm sure being on holidays I will gladly enjoy it.

Got my DCL booklet with Luggage Tags in the mail today! Love Disney mail!

My TA emailed me today to say DCL told her they won't send out our tickets etc until 2 weeks before the cruise! That's a bit of a problem because we will already be on our way to L.A. They said that I can just take my online registration that I've printed off and that will be fine. But I want luggage tags too!!!

They will have luggage tags at the port. Perhaps they could send your documents to the hotel.
Are you at disneyland on our thanksgiving Nov 24th. If so I'll keep an eye out for an "austy speaking family". We will be there on thanksgiving and on friday. Since it is only us out here in Ca (family back east or in Missouri) we traditionally go to DL for thanksgiving and have our turkey dinner on wkend as we decorate the house for xmas. So if you see a lady in a scooter chasing a 2yr old saying Jackson come back here. that will be us.
After that plane ride I would have to rest for a few days.

I used a TA but from what the TA said, was that everything that I would have gotten from DCL had I booked with them directly, I'll still be getting in the mail.

I don't know why they couldn't send it out sooner?! That's strange. But if they said that all you'll need is the online portion that you needed to print out, then you should be fine.

To quote multiple responses - right next to the 'Quote' button, is another button with what looks like a page, a ", and a + on it - that is the multiple quote button. So every time you want to quote multiple quotes, just press that middle button on each quote you want to respond to, then press "Post Reply".

We have a room reserved at the Pueblo Bonito Rose in Cabo. We have stayed there before and the pools and beach access is nice. We were just going to stay the day, go back to the ship, come back the next day if we still wanted beach. That is an idea for you. For us, we have added a third child (no parents on the cruise) to our trip and her parents are not comfortable with two women and three children (one of them theirs) roaming around Cabo...so I am going to cancel that portion. But, I still think it was a great idea. The Pueblo Bonito Rose is about 15 min cab ride from the port.

As for the taxi, they have vans that will hold multiple people. When we visited Cabo before we had 9 persons and rode fine.

One more thing (and it probably would only happen to us) we would take the cab to where we were going at a set fee and when it was time to come back to the hotel, all the cabs wanted double that price! That made DH mad so we got out of the cab and tried others but the first cab had radioed the others the price to charge us. We finally walked about two blocks from the port and found a cab for a reasonable price. As I said, things like this only tend to happen to us.

I just called Costco (our TA) and they contacted Disney and were told that our tickets and luggage tags had already been mailed to Costco Travel. They will go to the verification department at Costco Travel and then be remailed to us. Maybe yours have already been mailed to your TA as well and are just in the verification process there. Maybe you will get them earlier!

Also, I could have changed my Costco Travel mailing address and the tickets could be mailed to that new address. Maybe you can do that if your TA also gets your tickets first?????

in Florida the porters had extra tags.... don't know about LA.

No, we arrive 30th November. So I don't think we'll see each other at DL. But, I'm sure you'll hear other Aussie accents there - with our strong $ at the moment we seem to be everywhere but here. This morning one AUS$ bought $1.04US. But I bought most of my dollars before it reached parity - oh well

I will set up a new email account and then PM everyone on the list so that it's not open to spamming from outside, if that's okay with everyone else.

As for the documents, that could be the case but my TA is also a relative so I'm sure she wouldn't be misleading me. But, P&O sent our documents to her when we sailed a few years ago but it was with plenty of time to spare before we sailed.

And yes, once you get your documents it makes it seem so much more real. Are the luggage tags DCL ones or just regular ones? I want DCL ones
