Is there a DISmeet? On previous cruises, we've met at the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm (just prior to drill) on departure day. Or has something else been arranged?

:cutie:

Sounds good to us :goodvibes

Is this adults only or is it ok to bring the kiddos?

This would be for everyone. So we can actually meet face-to-face :rolleyes1
(what a concept).

Also, if anyone was able to upgrade or was pixiedust: surprised with a different room upon check-in, this would be the time to let the rest of us know for FE gift deliveries.

Is anyone planning on doing any of the Mixology classes?

DH and I will be trying the majority of them (tequila/margarita, mojito, martini) so if anyone wants to join us, please come along!

When do you sign up for the mixology classes? When you get on the ship? Where do you sign up? I am clueless, but it sounds like such fun!!!

Yep you sign up on the ship at Guest Services and usually the tastings are $15.

When we cruised on the Dream in June, we signed up about 5 hours before the actual tequila tasting and there was lots of openings left for that specific tasting, so i'm pretty sure that the tastings on the Wonder won't be full when we go to sign up :thumbsup2 We had a lot of fun during our tasting and it was well worth the price.

We get aussie chocolates (bountys, turkish delights, etc) from Cost Plus World Market - they're all over (the have vegemite too) and have food from different countries and a huge candy selection. That said, I think most people dont shop there (not a standard grocery store) and would appreciate the cherry ripes!

thanks for that tip. i'll look them up and see if we'll be near them and i can stock up. i am taking vegemite because i don't think i could bear toast without it. but the chocolates will be a treat for others.

Hi, Marlea98

Glad to have your family on the FE. Thanks for your message! I have done the entry and need you to take a look to make sure "everything" is correct.
FE URL is:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...Ndml5NEg5N0ktTTE0WnctT0E&hl=en_US&pli=1#gid=0

Basically I have seen that most of the FE lists close about 30 days ahead of the cruise. That is going to be cutting it really tight for you. Can you make it if it closes 11/11/11. Wow, that is one of those lucky numbers happening this year!

Thank you. I sent you a reply PM. We leave November 30th so that will be fine. I'll look at the final list 11/11 and then work on adding a few extras for just in case.

We got our room number too! It is #8060. balexander looks like we are neighbors. We will try to keep the noise down. :littleangel:

My husband and I might be up for these it will depend on how the kids are doing with there clubs. Sounds fun to me though.

Sorry to do this to you at this stage......as I know people have already made things but Chad and Kaarn McCarty don't think they will have enough time to get gifts put together. Can u take them off the FE list. Sorry.

I just popped on to my reservation to double check my booked shore tours. :woohoo:

Is anyone else doing (or has done) the 4x4 Mini Jeep Adventure in Cabo or the Historic Towns and Tequila Making in PV? If you have gone before, what are they like? They're the only tours we've reserved and thought we'd do our own thing for the rest of the time. I've read heaps of TRs and people have done a lot of their own thing especially when it comes to wandering around towns and stuff.

Could you easily share a van ride into town with others? When we were in Port Vila in Vanuatu we caught a shared van ride into town but got a taxi on the way back to port on our own. Biggest mistake - we had the Ra-Ra Man (his car's name) taxi ride from hell! We'd walked about half way back to the port already and he wanted to charge us more than it cost us for the 4 of us in the van (he changed the 'agreed' rate AFTER we had already been driving for a couple of minutes, then when we wanted to get out at the port he refused to stop the car and kept driving around until we paid :scared1:. It was obviously a well-known scam as he'd drive slowly past other drivers telling them that the amount he wanted was 'standard' rate and they'd agree with him. In the end my husband threatened to hit him; I was ready to grab the kids and open the door and jump out and so we ended up throwing the 'ransom' amount at him so we could get out. It was so scary that I'm a bit reluctant to get into a car on our own again. It left a negative memory to an otherwise perfect cruise. The Vanuatuans were such beautiful, gentle people we found, it's a shame this fellow had to wreck it all.

Also, I saw the updated gifts etc that you can pre-order. If I wanted the beer tokens can I get them onboard rather than ordering them in advance? Or the photo packages? Are they any cheaper if you pre-order them or doesn't it matter?

Oh, and I've got the fabric for my fish extender! I'm having a friend make it for me, though, as I've got so much on at the moment. Different threads say 20" others say 8" and I am aware it's based on the ship. What is the size specs for the Wonder? I thought if I make the smaller one I could use it at home anyway in the kitchen for things like hair pins, brushes, bus passes etc that get left laying around and pop them in the rightful owner's pocket.

Only question I can answer is about the photo packages. Onboard they offer 20 and 40 credit packages. Pre-buy you can get 10, 20, or 30 credit packages. The overlap being the 20 credit package, the price is the same for that package if you pre-buy or if you buy onboard.

For the FE, I know 8" wide is about the widest you want to go. Length can be whatever you need for your number of pockets. I've seen 2 pocket ones (about 12" long) and 5 pocket ones (about 36" long).

When you sign up for the tastings will they tell you what days and times they are available? We would like to do the mixology and the tequila tasting.

The Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm sounds good to me, please remind us. I am attempting to go back to school and will have finals the week before we leave.

What we did in June was, when we received our Navigator for the next day (you get your Navigator at turn down the night before), we looked over the Navigator and saw that the Tequila/Margarita tasting was the next day at 5pm. So the next morning around 11, we went down to guest services and signed up for the tasting. We called before we went down asking if we had to go down to sign up or if we could sign up on the phone, but you have to pay for it in person AND actually get the tickets to get you into the tasting.

I'm not sure if you can go down to Guest Services the first day and ask about tastings for the entire week or if you have to wait until the Navigator comes out. But our Tequila tasting on the Dream (fully booked cruise) wasn't even full. There were lots of spots open so I wouldn't worry about trying to get a spot during this cruise.:)

For BAlexander....one other thing (sorry in advance) we have Hannah listed in Laura Barnes room, but she will actually be in my room....Emily Gross. So that people know where to leave her little things...could you make that change. Also, people wanted last names and so thought I should clarify...in my room there are three of my nieces and they have different last names than us. Abbey and Rachel have the last name of Sorenson and Hannah is Hannah Haisman. I don't know if that matters but thought I'd pass it along. I am sorry to be a pest and make more work but am trying to make it easier for all.

Also, wondering....my sister Laura is hoping to upgrade at port. Maybe this has been discussed but I am wondering what we have set up...if we have anything set up....to deal with last minute changes to the room situation. On our last cruise, we had everyone that had made changes put a note on the door of the organizer within the first hour after we where allowed in the rooms....the organizer made any changes to a master list and we all went to their FE the day the cruise began and found the new list with changes. Don't know if that makes sense or if it's already been discussed.

It makes sense, if whoever has the master list wants to do it. There is also the DISmeet at 3pm on embarkation day in the Promenade Lounge. As long as someone from any changed rooms is there to let the others know.

:cutie:

ps. So you will have 7 people listed for your room?
