December 11, 2008 - 3 Night Wonder

We are going on this cruise, doing Disney from Nov 30 to Dec 11 and then the cruise. myself, dh, ds15, ds12 and dm, what about you?

Lucky you going to Disney World for the entire week prior. My son (age 35) and I will be arriving at Disney World on the 6th and stay until the day to transport to the port. Is this your first Disney cruise?

yes, this is our first disney cruise, actually our first cruise of any kind. We have done Disney world many times with the kids and wanted to add a little something different this time and decided to give the cruise a shot. I have always thought cruising was really expensive but booking early is wasn't too bad. Is this your first disney cruise or have you gone before?

You are going to LOVE it. This will be my 3rd, although my first time on the Wonder. It is worth the money. I, like you, was not a cruiser. My daughter was a performer on the Magic for 9 months so I had to go and see her. She has long since moved on and I am going back. It was really great. The food is good and you will love Castaway Cay. If I can offer you any advice, just let me know via private post.

Where will you be staying at Disney World

I am still looking for people on this Wonder cruise. Only found one family besides us so far.

Where are you guys

can't believe there are only 3 of us cruising, must be more out there or else we are going to have a pretty empty ship. I have never been to Disney in December, how are the crowds and the weather?

Hi,
My family and I will be on this cruise as well. This will be the first Disney cruise for all of us (my husband and our daughter as well as my mom and dad!) Friday of the cruise will be my daughter's 7th birthday -- I think we are all just as excited as she is about going on the cruise!

Has anyone ever sailed in December before? What is the weather like? How rough are the seas?
Thanks!

I started another thread and had no response I'm glad we found eachother. I will be cruising with my sister. It's her first cruise ever and my 5th on the Wonder. Is anyone interested in participating in a Fish Extender Exchange. I will have mine. We loved doing this on our last cruise. Hopefully we will find some other December cruisers.

December is a great time. Not too hot. The only thing is the water can be a little Chilly at CC,. But we took our time and got use to it. December is a blast. All the Christmas Decorations are up on the ship and in the terminal prior to the cruise. Very Beautiful and Festive. I can't wait to see everyone on board.

Okay, so I have never been on a Disney cruise and had no idea what a "Fish Extender Exchange" was. At first I thought we were all supposed to bring a bag of tropical fish to give to one another! :rotfl: Somehow I didn't think that was right!
I have since done some research and think that being a part of a Fish Extender Exchange would be a fantastic idea. What fun! How do I sign up?
And I have a feeling that my mom would get a kick out of it as well! She is really the driving force behind all of us going on the cruise in the first place and is now so excited about everything Disney Cruise related.
Thanks!

Anyone who is interested can PM me and I will set up a list of cabins and participants. Please include the names and ages of the children and the number of adults in each room. This is a lot of fun. I look forward to meeting everyone on Dec 11.

Still just a few of us, I guess....

All this talk about hurricanes messing up the cruises. Seems like we might get a few interruptions ourselves this weekend. At least we aren't in Houston. I am hoping my friends take me up on my offer to stay with us. They are in Dickinson between Houston and Galveston. Haven't heard a decision from her yet. Try to stay dry, not very ofen we can get a tropical watch up here.

Hi Disneyfan,
I think doing a fish extender would be fun, this is our first cruise. I am new to posting so don't know what you mean when you say to pm you, hope I am not going it look like an idiot for not knowing. Also wondering do you put gifts in for each person in the room and kind of gear it to their age for the kids, this ould be as much fun as Christmas.

Only dumb questions are the ones not asked. A PM is a private message. You click on the persons name and it gives you that option. Last cruise we tried to gear it to the age and gender of the children. Also got some neat gifts for the adults, some people try to get something representing their state. It's up to you. Pleanty of time for planning. I'm already getting excited.

Hmmm... Since I'm new and only have 3 posts (well 4 after this one!) I can't PM you yet! Guess I have to go ask some questions or post some replies to people's trip reports! Once I hit 10 posts I will be PMing you my information! ;)

I've already planned out how to make and decorate our fish extenders!

Thank you Disneyfan for taking on the organization of this! :cheer2: I can't wait!

I hope you are doing well and staying dry! Living in Florida I know feeling of impending doom when you see the images on the weather channel of a hurricane swirling in your direction. In the 10 years I have lived here we have been lucky, considering Florida just sort of dangles out in the midst of all that warm tropical water! Although 2004 was a bit wild, we still lucked out.

Let us know that you are alright when you get a chance.

Hello All,

Good to see more people on this cruise!

I have to plead ignorance on the Fish Extender? Huh??

Disneyfan...you are from Garland? We are from Arlington!

We are just fine here. My fiend who lives between Galveston and Houston didn't fare so well. They lost their fence and some roof damage. Her business did a little better. No electric or phones yet. she sent an email from a friends house in League City who had electric. I pray all those people are able to get on with their lives. We were there not too long ago hard to believe alot of it is gone now.
