December 11, 2004 Eastern cruise thread

We too are doing Coral World on our own. Right after that we are renting snorkling equipment and going right off the beach. I think it's the Coki Beach Dive Club that has the equipment.

I found on the last cruise that it was much cheaper doing things on our own and very easy.

What is everyone doing on St. Maarten (those that aren't taking a Disney excursion)? We have nothing planned there yet.

I just sent my husband down to check the front door.......nothing yet , but it's got to come soon!!!!!!!

You probably won't have an issue @ 3pm. If you do, simply get on the waiting list.

Sam

No upgrade here:(

Yes, we will try for Palo brunch on the day they are having the "Italian Buffet" for lunch in the other restaurants. It's either the first or second sea day.

What is reesies? I did not know there was an Italian buffet. How did you find out? And what other tid bit info do you guys have. The more I read on the boards the more I find out that I don't know about.

My mom and I are going to plan on trying high tea, I think. And yes we would like to do Palo's for brunch.

Jen

No upgrade here either.

Sending out LOTS & LOTS of Pixie Dust so everyone gets their Docs real soon!

fran

For those receiving their docs but not getting upgrades, mind if I ask what category you booked and whether you were GTY status or not?

Sam

For those going to Coral World, check out this website -- it has a coupon for $3 off each ticket.

http://www.coralworldvi.com/

Sam, we booked a cat. 10 adjoining room with my dsis last Oct. (2003) when we were on the Wonder. No upgrade. Perhaps the adjoining part kept us from getting an upgrade?

Jen, if you go to one of the websites that has navigators for the 7-day Eastern Magic, then you see what the lunch offerings are each day. Go to the last page of each day's navigator and look under "DIning Options", I think. The first 2 sea days have an italian buffet and an asian buffet at lunch time.

Jwann - I don't really remember the Italian brunch from our last cruise, we must have missed it. Was it not very good? Is that why you are avoiding it by going to Palo?

Michele

jwann-Thanks for the site for Coral World. I had forgotten about it.I went ahead and printed out my coupon for my ticket as dh doesn't need one as his is free due to snuba with them.I think there is enough to do at Coral World that I won't have any problems entertaining myself<G>.I am so ready for the rainforest lounger!By the way,we are still playing the cd you sent us.DH did finally make some copies of it.The dckids loved their cruise, and they still just want the cruise music.I can't thank you enough!

No docs here yet.We keep seeing the ups truck down our street, but he keeps passing us.We haven't gotten an upgrade yet on any of our past cruises, and I doubt we will.We are in a category nine room, and personally we have the perfect spot for our cabin.

We will also being doing brunch at Palo's.We hope to be able to get a ressie for one of the sea days as well.

Everyone have a great Friday!

Maria

All this talk about brunch at Palo's has inspired me to workout more...so keep it up!!! The last seven day cruise we went on I gained a pound a day, even with all of the walking we did! So, my plan is to try and lose seven pounds before the cruise and that way when it is all over, I'll be right where I am now!:flower:
Crazy logic...but I did get up this morning and walk at 5:30am...ummmm I can taste the shrimp and crab already!

Have a great day everyone!
Tracy

I have the same philosphy.. on my last 7 day, my clothes started to feel a little tight by the end of the cruise, so this time I have to make sure they are "loose" so I can grow into them this time :teeth: .

What is everyone doing on St. Marteen? I have pretty much figured out St. Thomas... either going to do Coral World/Coki Beach on our own, or do the Cable Car/Summit thing on our own.

Still haven't figured out St. Marteen though. I am thinking nonbeach since there is only so much sun exposure I should have, and I want to save that for Castaway!

Hello all,
I just stumbled upon this site in my search for information about our cruise Dec 11 Eastern Carribean. We are so excited about going away, this will be our first ever family trip. My two kids are 6(son) and 3(daughter). I'm hoping the weather will be warm enough. We live in Ontario Canada, and it is starting to get cold here. By December we will be in winter. We just booked our cruise last month, and because of this we ended up with late seating for dinner. I'm still trying to figure out how we will do this. I'm sure it will be too late for my daughter, she usually goes to bed by 8:00. My son, may be able to stay up for a couple of the dinners, but certainly not all. Does anyone else have a similar dilemma? I know I can use the kids program, but I'm not sure how they will take to it especially when they are tired at night. Do they actually get the kids to go to sleep? I would just hate to ruin the trip because they are so tired, yet at the same time, I'm really looking forward to the dinners and don't want to miss them myself.

Welcome 2kidsnow :wave2:

You will love the Disney cruise! Have you cruised before? We went on our first cruise last December, and just had to go again. The weather was very warm on our cruise last year. We swam at both St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Our CC day was a bit cooler, in the 70's and windy. But there were a lot of non-water things to do.

Don't give up on getting early dining. Are you waitlisted for early dining? If not, call whoever you booked with and asked to be put on the list. Last year, we were waitlisted and found out when we checked in at the port that we had early dining. I've also read about people being able to change their dining time after they board the ship.

Yes, kids can and do go to sleep in the clubs. At night, mats are put out and movies played for the kids that want to wind down.

2kidsnow-Welcome aboard! You and your family will enjoy this vacation.DH and I took our first ever cruise on the Wonder two years ago,and after two cruises on it we are now ready for a week long one on the Disney Magic.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Maria

Here is a site that I found on St Maarten this morning-

http://www.experiencestmaarten.com

I thought I would share it with you.We are taking he island tour there, but other then that we aren't sure what else we are going to do.There are some coupons also on this page if anyone is interested in those.I know one thing that I am not leaving St Maarten without getting and that is the guavaberry.I am spanish, and guava fruit I love.I can't find it here in FL,so that is going to be a big treat for me.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! 5 more weeks my friends and we get to all meet and have a great time!

Maria

Hi everyone!
Welcome 2kidsnow.

Thanks for link to Coral World - very informative.

Sam - we chose our room when we booked - no upgrade.

OK - just FIVE more weeks. We can count them on the fingers of one hand.

Today is check clothes and see exactly how much room we will need in the suitcases day. Must leave room for souveniers, you know.

Everyone have a great weekend! See ya real soon

Hi everyone! FIVE WEEKS! At this time five weeks from now we'll almost be to the port. We only live an hour away, but I like to get there early. :hyper: I don't mind waiting in line...afterall I get to stare at the ship and enjoy the excitement of everyone around.

Have a great weekend!
Tracy

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well.

Disneyfan37 when were you and DH on the cruise two years ago? That's when mom and I took our first cruise. On the wonder. We just got back from K-Mart and I found a very nice Mickey backpack for only 4.50. YEAH! That will be a great little bag to take on the plane. We did not get our docs yet however we did get a package from the Disney catalog that we ordered from. That is almost just as good. The more disney stuff the merrier. Also we went to Hallmark today and I bought 5 more Disney ornaments. We are going to do one whole tree in Disney.

Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to everyone later.

Jen
