December 10, 2009 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

Can't sleep...Can't sleep...:donald: ADRs are killing me. The thing is that people who don't DIS don't have a clue. ADRs, what are those? My husband is like, "Why are you getting up in the middle of the night?" Do you want to eat burgers and chicken fingers while at the parks? "We'll just pick a place to eat when we get there...It's the slow season, right?" Not with free dining.

If I could get the online system to work, I'd be happy, but I'm here waiting for 7 to call again. Really hoping I get the rest of my ADRs for the end of the trip.

I agree that I'll probably eat WAYY too much, but last time we went, I really liked the DDP so we did it again and I just like the ease of it and the fact that I have already paid for it (besides tips).

My DH is clueless as well, pretty much just leaves all planning (especially Disney) to me. We are traveling with friends that aren't as OC about it as well, but they are very appreciate of me doing all this.

I found out someone else from my town will be there part of the time we are (her DS is also in 3rd grade with my kids) and she had NO idea she had to make ADRs....I gave her my Birnbaum's book and the phone # and she said she was having issues getting places as well.

I am nervous that free dining will make me NOT get what I want...GRRRR. I just hope the FD doesn'st make the crowds crazy as well - that is why we picked the first week in December!

Well, 89 more days and I'll know for sure...just rambling to waste time... :surfweb:

We'll be battling for that first CM. :rotfl2:

I'm on the same time zone as FL, so sorry that you are up even earlier this long weekend!

Me too! Come one 7am...

I'm on the phone!!!

CRAP! soemhow I got the V&A place!!! Had to call back!!! Now it's already more than 30 minute....

I was trying to call on 2 phones and it backfired.

Now, I'm lost don't know what to do that last night. I was doing 2 phones too. I got the wrong place on the first one. Uhmm makes me wonder if they didn't have a glitch. I doubt we would have both dialed the wrong number...Oh well--I hope you get everything you want.

I booked 12/6 online--at 3am this morning--so I only had 4 to do. Couldn't get CM, so moved on quickly. Tell those people to talk faster. Know what you want..and an alternative--then move on. People are waiting over here!:rolleyes1

I was saying reservations to one phone when I needed to say NO about Victoria and Albert's on the other phone...that is what happened. All my fault, should have just used one phone, but I didn't have issues doing it yesterday!

I wish I could get into the online system - I keep getting an error when I enter my reservation # - even when I'm just retrieving it from otuside the dining reservation area. SO frustrating!

Been on hold 20 minutes...hopefully only 10 more to go.

Ok, I called back--I'm on hold. I couldn't think fast enough earlier. My son, so wants to eat with Mickey. It kind of surprises me, cause he is 12. But hey--we're all kids at WDW, right? He wanted to do Liberty Tree Tavern, but when I told him the characters were gone, he said well lets find another place. I'm not too crazy about the Garden Grill, but that may be our option. Sorry rambling--killing time...

yeah, were all kids at WDW and on a Disney Cruise as well. If he wants to eat with Mickey great for him. He should enjoy it. I know a lot of people who like eating with Mickey who are my age or older, including me:goodvibes

I have a very nice CM on the phone. I've gotten the ADRs that I want, but not the time I wanted at Tony's before Spectro. I booked it anyway and will just call back later to see if anything opens up. otherwise, we'll make it work (to quote Tim Gunn from Project Runway)

I was very happy that we got Coral Reef at a normal time (7:25 PM), so all in all, very happy (except with myself that I messed up and had to be on hold because of it!!!)

Good luck on hold and with a new ressie LD Nurse. I am off for some breakfast before I start on laundry then head to my parents' pool for a cookout to enjoy one of the last warm weekends!

Called back and got CM! Yeah! He'll be so thrilled!!!I'm not crazy about the time, it's a little late, but who cares? I'm going to bed! Hope everyone has a nice Labor day. Be careful!!!:)

when I booked our land/sea back in June 2008, the OBC from AAA wasn't published yet, but our TA told us it would probably be $100 (we have a Cat 6).

I emailed to find out what it was for 2009 and she is telling me it's only $50 as they base it on the # of cruise nights! She also told me that they are the only TA that gives OBC for Disney which I told her is NOT true and that other companies give $100 for a land/sea in a Cat 6 and that it's good to know for future cruises that AAA is much lower.

UGH - I was planning on that $50 in my head for OBC...

Oh that sucks! I know that we were getting $100 OBC with Dreams Unlimited for Cat 6. Now that we dropped to Cat 12 it's only $50...but we also get $25 for booking online and another $25 for Disney Visa...so we're still getting the $100 OBC. :thumbsup2

I even checked DU, All Seas and Magical Vacations and they are all $100 (actually DU is now $200!)

I thought maybe I could get AAA to get us the extra $50, but my TA doesn't seem to care....I told her it was much lower than other TAs and that now that I know that I will keep it in mind for future cruises...

I will now never use AAA for a Disney cruise again, not when I can get much more OBC from other TAs.

DLW8--Sorry to hear of your trouble with AAA. It's like they know they've got you, because you can't book elsewhere and get the same rate for booking so early. For future reference you know, now. You'll still have a magical trip!:thumbsup2 But I know it stinks though. Maybe you could try someone higher up in the company? Sometimes talking to the THE BOSS helps. Good luck to you...

Thanks - I may try going higher, but I highly doubt anything will change. I have to call my TA on Friday to make my final payment, so may make another quest for something extra there. We'll see what happens.

I booked this trip before I found the Disboards, so that is why I ended up at AAA. While their room only discount is good, the difference in OBC for the cruise makes my decision if we do another one with DCL (or any cruise!). I won't be using them for my travel again, that's for sure.

Wow, I can't believe that we made it to the 90 day point already. I made my ADRs, but I didn't get what I want. The 90+10 really messed with my plans. I am think about booking the Comfort Inn while we're in Nassau. I've heard that it is cheaper than booking it through DCL. I know that my kids will love the waterpark and the aquarium, but I don't know if it will be worth the price.
