December 10, 2009 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

i've never been to the passporter site!! I'll have to check it out!

So i checked out the passporter site. pretty cool! I'll have to hang there more often.

we've pretty much decided on AKV now. i'm excited for that! We're saving up extra well now so we can try the Concierge level! I'm just worried about the restaurants. I know Boma has some "normal" food, but i still think DH and my children will throw a huge fit if we eat there. When we were at POP in May we didn't eat there the entire time, but that was a really rush rush rush trip. I plan this next one to be more relaxing. But i guess with good planning we can still make it so no meals are there.

lets get this bumped up!! See if we have anymore DIS'ers on board!

I can't believe I"m counting down from so far away. Sigh. But, it will get here eventually, right?

Hoping I can find some good airfares when they start selling them next year!

As for AKL or Poly, I can't help you there. I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, ever since I was little, so finally I get to be there! The monorail will be much easier with the kids (DS and DD, both will be almost 8 when we go) since we won't have a car this time around.

Any of the deluxe hotels are fabulous....can't go wrong there!

And we are at 501 days from today - woo hoo! :yay:

but the monorail only goes to 1 park. that's only an advantage if you're going to just 1 park. :confused3 but you're right, Poly is a great resort! If we weren't renting DVC points, and needing a room for 5 people, that would be on the list.

Truthfully, i'm glad i'm not able to choose!! Gosh, i'd have to pull a name out of a hat! I'd love to stay at them all!! :lmao:

Hi folks! Wow, I cant believe i'm planning this far in advance. I'm driving my DW nuts, lol.

Anyway, myself, DW and DD(8) are booked for the 4 night land, 3 night sea cruise that departs on 12/10/2009. We have a Verandah view cabin on deck 6. This will be my first Disney Cruise and my wife and daughter's first cruise ever. I have been trying to get her to take a cruise for years. I thought a 3 night cruise would ease her into cruising vacations.

My mother and nephew will also be accompaning us. We are all staying at the Poly. ,another first for us. I have never stayed at a monorail resort.

We want to add another night, arriving on the 5th, but I cant overcome the thought of coming up with another $700-$800 for 2 rooms for just 1 night. I've thought of trying to penny pinch and perhaps book one of those family suites at the All star resort for a couple of hundred bucks and then switching to the Poly the next day. I've never stayed in one of those rooms, but I understand that they sleep 6 and have two bathrooms :cool1: .

I'm sure I will be on these boards a lot between now and next year's cruise pirate: .

Hey Pop Pop - welcome to our LONG countdown! popcorn::

We added the extra night to come in on the 5th, and once the land only prices come out next month, I'll see if it's cheaper to split my ressie and do land separately from sea. My DH said to "go for it" for the extra night at the Poly, so I did before he changed his mind!

I've never been at AllStar, so can't help you there....it will save money, but remember if you do that, pack for that one night in your carry on, so you don't have to unpack all the big luggage only to re-pack it again.

As for the monorail, it goes to MK and Epcot, and those are our favorite parks, so the Poly is the perfect choice for us. We will probably do a 1/2 day at AK and DHS each, so the bus will be do-able for those for us.

Anyone else this crazy about planning this far in advance for our trip?????

Hi Poppop, welcome aboard!! This going to be our 1st Disney cruise also. We're staying at Animal Kingdom Villas, and havn't quite decided yet if we are doing the extra night yet or not. i'm still wondering/worried about airfare taking a huge chunk of my vacation budget. we'll just have to wait and see.

Hey everyone! Just giving us a little bump up to see if anyone else has booked this cruise yet!

So i'm wondering about what Disney is going to be doing next year. I keep seeing all these discounts being posted for this year. Discounts basically from now until the holiday season!! I wonder if we will be able to get those next year. Not that i really plan on waiting to find out! pateintly waiting until Dec to start booking the DVC rooms.

Did anyone book the package when they came out a week or so ago?

I had booked the land/sea back in June (I am impatient) and checked to see if I booked separately now if it would be a better deal. Nope, even with AAA discount it would be higher than what I'm paying for land/sea plus an extra day.

Now my frustration is that I will need to pull my extra day out to book separately if I want the meal plan for the land part of land/sea (which I do). If I have the extra day with my land/sea package, I can't get meal plan at all (which doesn't make ANY sense to me quite honestly). So, we will do one night through AAA separately, rent a car at MCO and go to Sea World for that day (Saturday, December 5). Then on Sunday our "package" starts and we will have our park passes and meal plan.

I just don't get my Disney doen't want my money for an extra day! Oh well, DS is happy cuz he LOVES SW and we weren't sure if we'd get there this trip.

Anyone else booking this far in advance with us or are we the only crazy ones????:confused3

Hi Everyone!

My son (will be 9 when we cruise) will be on this cruise too. We are doing the 4 night land/3 night sea package and we are so excited! I took him to Disney world for 7 days in June of 2007 and we had such a great time. I figured this would probably be the only thing that could top that vacation!

Hi Ccourtney!! Welcome aboard!!

We're still a pretty small group, but hopefully we get lots more people!

Hey Courtney - another long-range planner! Welcome aboard.....

Thank you both so much! I had to plan way ahead in order to afford it! I'm currently a single mom so I need to save up for these things! Nobody does vacation like Disney though, so it's well worth it!

I agree - we are planning this far in advance for the financial reason as well. But I just can't wait!!!

Oh yeah!! WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY in advance to help pay for it!!

Looks like we finally made a decision, we're going to be driving down. With all the luggage for 5 people for 1 week, PLUS everything we'll need for the VR, it just didnt' make any sense at all to fly! So with that in mind, looks like check in will definately be on Sunday, so 4 nights at AKV!

Woo hoo! January can't come fast enought for us!!!

Less than 14 months now people!!!

418 days

We are almost in the 300's for the countdown of days!!!! Since the one year marker for us will be a Friday night, I am going to plan a special night for my family (a surprise)......can you tell I like to plan? :rotfl:

Great Idea!! I've made a calender for all my guests that is a Countdown to Celebreation 2009!! It's so cool!

I have finally officially booked with Disney Fairy Tale weddings for the Vow Renewal!! Everything is set for 10am on Castaway Cay!!! WOO HOO!!

We've also finally decided to book at Ft Wilderness Cabins! The kids are going to have so much fun there!!

Just a little over a year away!!

Well, we are just 2 days away from the ONE YEAR MARK!!! We are doing a pre-night ono the 5th, and our land/sea package starts on the 6th. I am SO excited that we are finally at the one year countdown!

To celebrate, we are having our friends over (our travel mates) on Saturday night where I will have Minnie & Mickey pasta, a Mickey-head shaped pizza, Mickey-head shaped cookies and perhaps a Mickey-head shaped brownie (if I have time). We will also play Disney Trivial Pursuit to commemorate this milestone in our LONG planning!

:cool1:
